    • The fan art is to be of RT and Let's Play family topics.
    • Previous entries may be re-entered, provided they have never won.

    • The top 5 modded posts will be selected as finalists (read: TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO VOTE!)

    • 1. What's your name? Lilah, Geekyowlet or htmElle on most places
    • 2. Where do you live? British Columbia
    • 3. What do you do? I'm in highschool, working on improving my digital art
    • 4. How did you create this piece? I used an iPad Pro with Clip Studio Paint and the Apple Pencil.
    • 5. How long did it take? It took about 3 days!
    • 6. What was your inspiration? Nora is my favorite character in RWBY, and I hadn't drawn anything for her (and I had a new brush I wanted to try out) so I found a cute pose and started drawing! I wanted to make sure that Nora's colorful and bubbly personality showed through in the drawing, so I used the thick lines to give it a bit of a whimsical feel, and shaded using bright colors.

    Info about me:

    • Hello, My name is Parker (Kobi) Troiani (everybody calls me Kobi), and I currently live in orlando florida attending Full Sail university for computer animation (I graduate tomorrow yay~) But I made something because i've been a big fan of RWBY ever since it first came out. It had a unique artstyle that I think was only done properly by RT. So I took one of my characters and rendered it out in the same render style as RWBY. I can't say it's traditional fanart, but i'm a huge fan of RT's artstyle.

    How I did the art:

I started out with the character by sculpting him in Zbrush. The retopology process was done in Maya via quad-draw, then I UV-mapped him. I took the model into Substance Painter for Baking, and texturing. My favorite character in RWBY is Pyrrha, so I studied the metals on her outfit, and the fabrics. They aren't just a plain color texture, there are subtle changes that I had to note. So once the texturing process was done, I applied the textures in Maya using a special ramp shader script that I had found thanks to one of my professors, then autorigged to get the pose. Overall the process took maybe 40-50 hours give or take. The scene itself only took about 4 days, and the render only ended out being around 3 minutes at 4K. That time was spread throughout a 2 month span due to classes and life. I've wanted this as a profession ever since I can remember. That's why I ended up at Full Sail, so I can work at the places i've always looked up to for inspiration instead of keeping it as a hobby.
