Trivium is probably one of the newer bands to hit the metal scene, they only really got popular this year following the release of 'ascendancy', i am a huge fan, i wana hear what all you ppls think about em!

Not metal, metalcore. That's basically a hardcore band pretending to be metal.

lol, they sound a bit metalcore, but the fact that they can actually play their instruments makes them more metal in my eyes

They have some thrash and some melodeath here and there, but it really is just metalcore mostly. I just don't see the big deal with them.

I'd have to say I like them. I met them at Ozzfest 2005 and they seemed like some pretty laid back guys. I know they aren't the "best" musicians around, but I still think they are decent. I haven't listened to much of Children of Bodom, but what I heard, I liked.

I have to wonder how he played the solo without the fret hand. I have come up with 3 ideas how this occured.
    1) He had a tape/disc playing in the backgrounf. (Highliy doubtfull)
    2) The solo had alot of open strings in it. (Again, highly doubtfull)
    3) There was another guitar player playing the solo. (Probably what happened)

If I'm wrong, tell me, I would like to know how he did that, it sounds like it would have been awsome to see.

I like them, but I can understand why people wouldn't.

    To each his own.

Oh, by the way man, I hate to tell ya this. There are already two other threads on this band. So that would make this a threepeat.

Here and Here are the links.

Yeah, that's probably true. Though I would not expect a back track, your probably right.

Too much screaming I take it?? If thats the case you should really try some power metal.

    Kamelot
    Sonata Arctica
    Masterplan
    Dragonforce

    etc

We have two metal threads. That's enough. Progressive metal, I should say, is my favorite type of metal, but power is really fuckin' close.

Anyway. I pretty much hate Trivium mainly due to what Cloud said. I cannot respect any band that won't play their own music. =/

I can understand taking your fret hand off the guitar to point at the crowd, but if the solo is still going that's uber lame.
    I cant really repsect that.

Trivium are decent at best, they really know how to write a song (listen to the song on Roadrunner United that has King Diamond on vocals and you'll know what I mean). They're potential is huuuuuuge, but currently, they're nothing special.
