Screw the big chromatic ones. Get a couple of smaller diatonic ones (to play in multiple keys). It's cheeper, and it's much better for note bending.

I play Bass , but I wouldn't consider myself talented...More like barely adequate at banging out simple punk and metal tunes.

I play drums and the flute. I can help myself on the guitar and bass. Drums are my passion though.

I would want to play Sax though(I have only played, like, three times)

I'm fairly decent at playing the guitar, and I sing.

I played the piano when I was younger... which basically means I know most of the chords and can only remember two songs.

Oh, and that awful thing that everyone does when they find a piano, where you run your knuckles up the keys? I can do that too, I just usually choose not to.

I've always wanted to play drums.
My father and 2 oldest brothers played drums but I never got the chance to play! >_<
    I still want to though.
Man that'd be so awesome if I could.
I played the recorder in elementary school and the flute in 6th grade
my sister also played the flute
and another brother of mine also played a sax or something like that
    I cant exactly remember... >_>
I have a ibanex guitar in my closet but I havent played it in years
but my passion is still wanting to play the drums.
I love music but yet I still havent made any. smiley3.gif
I know my time in life will come around for that. lol

I play guitar (electric, acoustic, bass), piano, steel drums (yeah, those hammered-out oil drum things), and a teensie bit of standard percussion drums.

Mainly guitar, though. Been three years since I started.

Though I really want to learn a string instrument. I have serious respect for those people.

How is guitar not a string instrument...

Let me rephrase that: "fretless" string instrument.

Specifically a cello. I know about three people in total who actually play and I immediately fell in love with how it sounded. The fretless neck presents a nice challenge, too.

I played a fretless bass once...
    It actually sounded really good.

    In reply to zoggles, #96:

"String instruments" usually constitute orchestral instruments like violin, viola, cello, and upright bass. Yes, guitar is a stringed instrument, but you don't see them along with a violin quartet in an orchestra, do you?

    In reply to Not1337, #100:

It still belongs to the string family does it not? Drum sets (the type used in today's bands) aren't exactly always used in orchestra's but they're still considered percussion instruments belonging to the percussion family, as they are infact...percussion instruments. Shocking I know.
Just like guitars, although not often used in orchestra's.... are still considered to belong to the string family.
What would you classify a guitar as?

    I classify a guitar as a guitar. :P

Yeah, i can have my issues, but it works for me. If i wanted to be technical, it would be a fretted string instrument, whereas violins (etc) would be fretless string instruments.
