    God bless you good sir.

Dark Cloud = Pure fucking win

Level 5 > Square Enix times (unbelievably high number)

lol. thats if you exclude FF from the equation. Rogue Galaxy is infinitely better than any of the Star Ocean games, and Dark Cloud sure as hell beats Chrono Trigger or whatever earlier games Square had while it was still Square Soft. but i cant think of any game from L5 that i would rather play than FFXII.

even though im currently playing Dark Cloud instead of XII.

Well, considering that Dark Cloud was there first game, it's amazing that a developer that's only been around for 7 years and only released 3 games is basically on par with a 32 year old developer with much larger budgets, a foot hold in the industary, and, most importantly, insane fanboys. You gotta admit, the only reason Square Enix is doing better is time and money.

your right. i think the biggest part is that L5 was (is?) independent, so they forged out everything that they've done. the only thing they dont have that i really am drawn to is a legacy. in the sense of Square's. if a Final Fantasy game comes out, im going to buy it no matter what (except Chocobo Tales). I can tell that im going to be the same with L5, but they just have to keep it up.

true. but thats not the reason i feel obligated to keep playing. its not to fit in with the rest of the gamers, but because i feel like i would be missing an essential part of the RPG experience if i gave up on it.

the same goes with Dark Cloud though. that was one of the earliest console RPG's that really defined what it really was supposed to be.

Hired and Rented means the same thing. Just like borrowed. Or stole.

if you hire a hooker, you have to follow 'rules'. but if you rent one, you can just throw her away when you're done.

What about borrowing a hooker or stealing one?

almost the same. if you borrow a hooker, you have to put it in your taxes. but if you steal one you can just let a friend 'borrow' her.
