I recently read an article about the pricing of the new PS3 at launch. The article can be found here. Remind you, I'm not an IGN Insider member, so I couldn't get access to the full article, but this much says enough. Now, they say the PS3 will be between $300 and $800. $800 kind of makes the 360's asking price look kind of like pocket change. I'm not sure if this is just a joke, but if the system will cost that much when it launches, who is still gonna go out and buy the extreamly expensive system?

I'm gonna get the revolution no matter how much it costs. Being able to download any game from the past 20 years of nintendo history would be worth the cost. That and I'm interested in seeing what the controller is like. (how it handles you know what I mean?)

Nintendo claims that all previous games will be downloadable. Microsoft also claimed that the 360 would be fully backwards compatible early on, did they deliver, no. Which means, don't get your hope up.

And one time it was reported to cost in at 500$, get over it, we will never know, it is bound to cost more then the 360 as it is using more advanced hardware. Each 360 lost approx 110$ with each sale.

    Did you read it right?

In fact, it's fairly feasible to assume that the PlayStation 3 could retail at anywhere between $300-$800 at launch.

Well, how about cos it is supposed to be using a new 'cell prccessor' which is much more advanced then standard processors. An also because it shall not be using DVDs it will be using Blu-Ray discs which can hold up to 50GB (DVD hold up to 9GB) therefore the blu-ray drive will also be more expensive.

What else will Sony make up the money on if they lose more then $100 per unit sold. Microsoft has xbox live which is their real money maker, they can afford to lose profit on the actual console.

Hey genius, if you didn't realise, I didn't bring up the revolution. I was just responding to Chilly_willy. Think before you speak, not everybody wants to hear fanboys. And fanboys who diss the crap out of a system before ever touching one have no right to speak at all.

I do have fun paying for me top-quality online service yes, thank you, and if 127,417,244 people buy a Ps3 for less then it takes to make then thats a lot of profit down the drain.

Look you idiot, you see how other people are posting about the 360 and the revolution? I guess that means you have to bitch and wine at them about talking about a different system. Boo-fucking-who. Until you or somebody else takes the time to create a 'Bash theis consel forum' I suggest you SHUT THE FUCK UP! So why don't you fuck off*.

No what the thing will be more than 500. And 500 is pushing it. Besides, you don't sell consoles to make money, that's what games are for.

Depending how much the games will cost to manafacture, remember, blu-ray discs hold up to 50 GB which is more then 5 times DVD does, therefore the games will even be much more to develop.
