I picked the wrong week to stop smoking.

    The sunglasses scene is awesome.

    Don't have the fish.

I picked the wrong week to reply to SniperEye.

Surely you must have seen Airplane?

First one to reply "Don't call me Shirely" gets a free pint of Guinness...

I have seen Airplane. And don't call me Shirley.

You may now mail my pint of Guinness to New Jersey, the ass-end of the Eastern US.

And in a slightly related moment....

'We're going deep and we're going hard.'
    'Surely you can't be serious?'
'I am. And don't call me Shirley.'

I picked the wrong week to quit drinking...

Speaking of drinking, I got a mug for Christmas that says "Zombie Response Unit: Locate. Decapitate. Exterminate." Perfect for when the Empire releases a vius onboard a derelict Star Destroyer and sends in Delta Squad to sort it out.

Thois is just the wrong week for (insert pastime/addiction to quit)

Where do you get those mugs? That's awesome. Ah here we come back with Death Troopers.

And still, don't have the bloody fish, and the white zone is for unloading.

Good time to start talking about Death Troopers again as I just finished it now. Got it for Christmas, see?

What did you think of it?

I found it kinda jarring as it didn't seem to flow well from one section to the next. Too many character perspectives maybe.

501st on the other hand was amazing. Now I'm onto the first of Karen Traviss' originals 'City of Pearl'. Setting itself up nicely so far.

That is a pretty awesome mug. I got one that was a piss take on an old world war 2 propaganda poster. Instead of keep calm and carry on, it reads 'Now panic and freak out.'

Death troppers was alright. Not brilliant, but not bad either.

One thing I can say about it was that it was short. I finished it in about 2 hours.

Maybe you were just too eager to read about zombie storm troopers.

Ending was a bit sudden, I thought. Came out of nowhere in the last three or four pages.

As endings do, I suppose but a few pages before the ending they were still in the command centre, which I would have to assume would be in the centre.

    ..............

Totally forgotten the ending of the book. Crap.

Ah well back to reading 'Stalingrad' by Antony Beevor. Why? Because I'm having a running discussion/argument with an officer cadet about the second world war and I'm outpacing him on the eastern front stuff so far.

Is said cadet a braindead idiot?

Just wondering, as they usually are.

    He's an officer, guess. ;)

He's actually working on a military history degree, so the discussions tend to get 'interesting' after a few beers.
