Motherboard: Gigabyte EX58-UD3R (replaced by newegg)
    Processor: i7 940 (Intel replaced i7 920)
Video Card: Sapphire 3850 (PCIx16 - tested OK)
Power Supply: Antec 550 (Tested OK)
Memory: 1 GB Crucial DDR3 (waiting on replacement from OCZ).
Hard Drives: 4x1TB in RAID 5 (by Motherboard)
Hard Drives in Athena Power 3141 hot swap enclosure.

I have successfully loaded the system with XP when I have 2 Volumes (1x250GB, 1x2.5TB) but the system does not see the 2.5TB in XP.
I have not successfully loaded Vista at all.

I tried to install to 1 single 3TB drive with XP with the floppy driver install and nLite and it says "Setup Cannot Read Disk" or something like that.

    HELP!

You are clearly missing the drivers for your RAID. Your motherboard should have come with a RAID floppy, but if it didn't, you can probably download the files from Gigabyte's website. You will need to load them during setup, or the OS won't see a disk to install to.

No no no. Incorrect. I've got the two RAID drivers (per Gigabyte Manual)

    RAID/AHCI Driver for GIGABYTE GBB36X
And the other one for the ICH10R SATA which is the two that it says.

I nLited them in and I tried just disks. It's worked with the drivers I used before. I'm thinking that XP has a 2 TB limit which is why it doesn't like it. I'm going to try to partition it *before* the XP install.

I was confused, since you said you couldn't get Vista loaded at all.

Vista boots up to where it asks for the drivers. I put in the Driver Disk or i put in the USB key and it loads the drivers. It sees the drive and then it says that it could not find a suitable volume for it.

Do you know a way that I can boot and format these drives to a 250 GB partition so that I can install XP and leave the other alone until I'm into XP?

You could try http://montana.craigslist.org/ and see if you can get lucky. Also you could try Gparted if you still want to format/partition the hard drives before you run the XP install.

I've tried several utilites but none can read the SATA drives that I've got. I've resorted to purchasing a 320 GB for 50 bucks off Newegg (5 yr warranty) that was the best deal for the money..

That's odd... that nothing would format/read your hard drives. Gparted is completely free though and has worked for me, even on my 500 GB hard drive so it might be worth looking into since it costs nothing but if you have already solved your problem then no sweat off your back for not playing with it. I'm glad that you seem to be solving the problem though. I hate that you had to go out and spend more to solve it though. Hope everything works out.
