Possibly my second favourite comedy series ever, after Black Books, Spaced ran on Channel 4 in the UK from September 1999 to April 2001. It stars Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson as the two main characters, as well as Julia Deakin, Mark Heap, Katy Carmichael and Nick Frost.

From the back of The Definitive Edition:

"Spaced revolves around two idle twentysomething flatmates - immature skateboarding would-be comic artist Tim (Simon Pegg), and moody, responsibility-shy writer Daisy (Jessica Stevenson), and their self-induced lack of success in employment, relationships and life in general. Together with their oddball assortment of friends and neighbours: Marsha, Brian, Mike and Twist, they exist in a world perched precariously on the edge of normality."

This series is ace. Whilst it only ran for two seasons, every episode is original and hilarious. There's a ton of cult references embedded throughout the series as well.

One of the best scenes is where Tim, Mike and Brian have a slow-motion gunfight in Tim and Daisy's flat... With their hands.

YouTube "Spaced" for clips if you're interested.

    And show some love!

I've watched the slow motion gunfight.
    And the paintball episode.
After Shaun of the Dead, i really want to see more of these guys work; including Edgar Wright.
But still all i've watched are youtube clips.

I think, if you go to peekvid, you might be able to watch all the episodes online.

Failing that, try looking for The Definitive Edition in a sale. The separate seasons retail here at £19.99 each, whereas The Definitive Edition (both seasons plus a ton of extras) generally retails at £29.99... Which makes it £10 cheaper than buying both seasons separately. I managed to get my Definitive Edition for £15!

Sorry, I never really used the search function before, so when I ran a search for it I wasn't aware of the whole archive-thing.

Daisy Steiner: Do you rent downstairs?
Brian: You mean am I gay?
    Daisy Steiner: WHAT?
Brian: You mean am I gay?
Daisy Steiner: No, I meant "Do you rent the downstairs flat?"
    Brian: Oh. Yep, sort of.
    Tim: Are you gay?
    Brian: Hmm?
    Tim: Are you gay?
    Brian: No...

    Also.

"So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Because you, my friend, are going nowhere... Oh bollocks."

    Then, to Brian:

    "I've been naughty!"

Tyres is fucking awesome. If you watch Shaun of the Dead carefully you can see Tyres as a zombie standing outside the pub.

Spaced... one of THE best comedy shows ever. Shame it didn't last beyond 2 series but when you watched it you just knew Simon Pegg & Co were destined for bigger, better things.
