With one week left until our little Shindig gets dug, the list of EVERYTHING you'll need to know to have a great time.

1.Tickets can be purchased here or on the days of Armageddon; Search out the guy in a BRIGHT PINK JACKET. Let me know if you intend to pay this way, as I can then keep an eye out for you. Simple enough. If you don;t see me there, you will have an HOUR window from opening Saturday (7.30pm) to show up and get in; after that, no matter what, you will be unable to join the fun inside.

      2. Paying via the link gets you into the draw for the RT Community "Bat Bag", as seen on the RT Twitter, and masking Jack, and the $25 Bar Tab on the night. You don't have to be there to win it, but you DO have to buy a ticket online!
      8032024484_a1678e55fb.jpg

      3. Friday afternoon, there will be a gathering at the Park opposite the convention centre, with a BBQ and drinks, and possibly every ones favourite live action adaptation of a game from within a video game? Food will be served to start around 4, to allow school and university students to get out and join us first, however we will all likely be hanging round and setting up from midday sometime... Well, I'll be getting in about 4.30pmish, but SOMEONE ie Nikz will be there to help guide you. With a 4 day convention, getting out and enjoying some sun may do you some good and re-invigorate you for the weekend. The park closes at 8, so we will vacate and go our separate ways from there, however, most of us will hopefully stick together and carry on enjoying ourselves throughout the weekend from here

      4. The location for Saturday is The Winchester; close to the convention hall and most hotels, a simple drive or bus ride to get to. It will be specially themed for the night, and will have (Hopefully) a Halo HORSE challenge, some music and lots of other fun times to compliment your evening! Drinks are subsidized, so cheaper than most bar prices, we will have our own separate space, and are open until Closing!

I hope this is all the info you will need to have a successful weekend at RvBNZ, we hope to see you there. Any questions, our profiles are on the right hand side under admin, use the Facebook group, or ask this news post; we will endeavor to answer as quickly as we can.

THE CONCISE, QUICK TO READ SCHEDULE

      October 19th - 12.00pm - Meet-up, Park across the street, Grifball?
      4.00pm - BBQ Start Up
8.00pm - Park Closes, DISPERSE, DISPERSE!

October 20th - 7.00pm until Late - The Winchester (HORSE tournament WITH PRIZES, Rock Band, Other "Events"). Roughly 9 minutes drive, 20 minutes Public transit from the convention centre. NO AGE LIMIT, but NO UNDERAGE DRINKING

Spread the word, let it be known, invite those you think interested; the more we get, the merrier and better this can be.

As always, if you know someone who might be interested in this, or interacting with other fans, don't hesitate to send them here, to Facebook for info, or contact Nikz or myself.

    • Suprise!

      Red vs Blue NZ

So, as I teased on the Facebook page, I have a little suprise for everyone. Really, a little one, but one that might be interesting.

I'm sure all of us are fans of Jack from AH (And why not, he's quite funny). This past weekend he was at RT Philly, where he took part in a Q&A/Trivia section with "Punishments" given for wrong answers. One of those punishments was called the 'Bat Bag', and, as you can see, Jack rocked it like a Boss

      8032024484_a1678e55fb.jpg

And also scared the crap out of everyone...

      8032026791_2861fa8f86.jpg

The reason this is important is that, through a strange series of circumstances, a certain foreigner at Philly ended up with it...

      8032034653_34f1113020.jpg

And, seeing how I'm not a massive fan of memorabilia, I thought, "Why not offer to People Who Might Like it?"

A PIECE OF ONE-OFF AH/RT MEMORABILIA THAT IS UNIQUE AND A PLACE IN COMMUNITY HISTORY IS AVAILABLE!

Oh, and also a $25 Bar Tab for the night

To be in with a chance to win it, all you need to do, is buy a ticket to RvBNZ online. You don't necessarily even have to show up the day, as it's paper and easily shippable, but each ticket purchase guarantees 1 entry into the draw to win both the bag AND the prize; therefore, we are better than EVERY GAMESHOW in the 80's!

The Rest of the Important Stuff

We have an initial run of 70 tickets, a number we think is achievable and beyond. Part of this ticket price up to the day will include subsidized drinks; If we sell all these tickets before September 21st, we will change the tab to a selection that allows Free Non-alcoholic drinks, Tap Beer, and House or Sparkling Wines, and have a cash bar for RTD's, Spirits and the like.

ON TOP OF THIS , if we sell fast enough, we will also rent out the adjourning room, and allowing our ticket list to expand to around 250. We don't think the internet has it in them to sell this much, however, and we DARE YOU to prove us wrong!
There is no charge for this, seeing how it's a public park and all, however, in the most Kiwi tradition possible, BBQ will be there. The food list is still being pinned, but expect the usual, at a reasonable price point.

At this point in time, we will not be looking for volunteers; anyone who shows up early to aid us will be more than appreciated, however, and we may even buy you a drink.

Spread the word, let it be known, invite those you think interested; the more we get, the merrier and better this can be. If you have any suggestions, thoughts, questions... you know how to find us.

As always, if you know someone who might be interested in this, or interacting with other fans, don't hesitate to send them here, to Facebook for info, or contact Nikz or myself.

      Purchase Link

One Week left of the promotion, and no, we have NOT reached that point yet... Called it...

Almost coincidentally, it is 5 weeks until the event AND Armageddon... Huh, like it was planned or something.

As such, a rough schedule is now available; it won't get much more in depth, as we want to keep flexible, and keep the event as a way to meet and 'group up' as it were for Labour Weekend.

      As such...

      Schedule

      October 19th - 12.00pm - Meet-up, Park across the street, Grifball?
      4.00pm - BBQ Start Up
8.00pm - Park Closes, DISPERSE, DISPERSE!

This year, we would like to, if at ALL possible, avoid selling on the door. If y'all could buy via the link, or at least let me know you will be finding me for cash, that would be much appreciated. I will carry tickets the Friday if need be you want to pay cash, but chances are we will NOT be selling at the door unless a major reason comes up.

    • Updates?... UPDATES!

      Red vs Blue NZ

With less than a month left of our little optional extra for the Saturday event, I feel this is an appropriate time to give you an update on that little situation.

*WARNING* Currently, we do NOT have enough ticket sales to cover the free Bree/Wine/Coke option, nor the enhanced room option. Follow this link and purchase via there. You have until September 21st for this. Get crack-a-lacking! smiley0.gif

As we are all nerds here, I thought it might be good to bring along an Xbox or two to the event. I was thinking, Halo Horse tournament with/without prizes for best (Depends how generous I'm feeling), followed by some Rock Band for when the drunk geek (ie ME) factor kicks in. Thoughts?

From last Entry, to Keep it On our Front Page

The Winchester will be our venue for October 20th, giving you just over 3 months for planning, and roughly 9 minutes drive from the convention centre... You know, that other thing happening that weekend?

The park day will be the 19th, in the same venue and similar to last year; I'm sure some people want some kind of Real life Videogame within a Videogame in Real Life to happen again... . There is no charge for this, seeing how it's a public park and all, however, in the most Kiwi tradition possible, BBQ will be there. *Dramatic Build*

$25! Rendering it cheap enough for those POOR Uni students.

EDIT: Tickets can now be bought! As RoosterTeeth doesn't allow Paypal links (And rightly so), follow this link and purchase via there. Let me know of any questions, concerns or the like. Additionally, if intending to purchase tickets the day of, let us know SOMEHOW. Include your username in the "Instructions to Sender" please, too. Would be SO. MUCH. EASIER. We apologize for the shitty site, it's only real purpose is the Paypal, and I don't really have time to go through and make it better.

Part of this ticket price up to the day will include subsidized drinks; HOWEVER, if we sell all these tickets before September 21st, we will change the tab to a selection that allows Free Non-alcoholic drinks, Tap Beer, and House or Sparkling Wines, and have a cash bar for RTD's, Spirits and the like.

I'd like some quick input please.

You see, as we would like to create an event y'all would love, your thoughts are super helpful in that goal. As such, it occurred to me that having a set place to go to might not be what people want.

So, I put it to you, wonderful peoples of this group; would you like a static place to for an evening, or would you prefer a sort of more flexible approach, where we have list of places to go and we can choose on the day? Do we rent a room somewhere, or pay perhaps to rent a van or something so larger groups of us could move together? What are your hopes, dreams?

TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT, INTERNET PEOPLE OF NZ!!!

And, as always, if you know someone who might be interested in this, or interacting with other fans, don't hesitate to send them here, to Facebook for info, or contact Nikz or myself.
