      RvB Fitocracy Fanatics

      More and more fitness and get-your-@$$-off-the-couch and be active type groups are popping up in the RT community!

      such as the Fit for RTX group recently started by @Barbara and @Abdine

      and the Rooster Teeth Athletic Club hosted by @Newbs, @Juls and @RoadBlock

      Let's keep connecting and motivating each other!

      If you haven't been on Fitocracy in awhile (that includes myself ..shame on me) go check out the group, you may be surprised how many members there now are in the RT / RvB group on Fitocracy!

      You can set group CHALLENGES and competitions.
      Push yourself and others to earn those Fitocracy ACHIEVEMENTS!

      DON'T STOP at just getting up and moving around: Exercise / dance / sports / triathlons are all fantastic ..but pay attention to the things you eat and drink and push yourself to make better choices!
      It doesn't have to be all at once.
      Got a bad soda habit? Try cutting it from 4 cans a day down to 1 can a day, then cut it down from 1 every day down to 1 every two or three days, and so on. SET REALISTIC GOALS. Don't go too easy on yourself, give yourself a bit of a challenge ..but not so much that you'll feel defeated and discouraged if you can't reach the goal right away.

      remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE. If youre feeling discouraged, REACH OUT TO YOUR FRIENDS.
      and on the flip-side, if youre making good progress SHARE YOUR STORY as it may inspire others!

      Thanks for reading, now set yourself a goal to achieve before you go to bed tonight!
      Have work tomorrow and feel too tired and that it's too late tonight to do anything? well youre wrong. You at least have time to do some stretches before crawling in to bed. Do a few stretches, try to hold them at least 16 seconds each. Go to bed, and do a few more stretches when you first get up in the morning. Keep doing that a few times a week or more and it will become habit. It's the beginning of a new you. smiley12.gifsmiley13.gifsmiley7.gif

      Welcome (and thank you.. because the notification reminded me that *I* am in this group and on fitocracy and I need to get my @ss back over there and start veing active - both on the site and in life again)

      So the end of another year draws closer..

      How is everyone doing on their diet and/or fitness goals?

      I will admit .. I have "fallen off" track again. Combination of stress and being sick a lot (consequences of moving in with my sister and her FOUR children.. the little germ herders!). Stress shouldnt be a reason NOT to work out though.

      So I just wanted to see how everyone else is getting along these days,
      and ..if applicable.. what helps keep you motivated when you find yourself starting to make excuses to skip workouts and give-in to unhealthy habits (like intense sugar cravings!!)

      Alright everyone, there are now 18 RvB fans on the fitocracy group site, some are very active, others are not active at all.

      So lets change that! ..and remember this isnt just about going to the gym, do you play any sports?! those count too! as does hiking and many other activities

      Several RvB members just participated in the first group challenge! Another one should be announced in the near future, so stay tuned!

      Please spread the word about this group and the Fitcocracy website / program to all those who you know are interested in getting (or staying) fit and healthy, and who will take this seriously.

      lets strive to inspire, encourage and support are fellow community members in this endeavor! smiley12.gifsmiley13.gif

      The Fitocracy site appears to help you track and log your fitness activities and progress, as well as gives you Achievements (awesome!!) for your efforts - but we can also use the group forum here to start threads on fitness related subjects to exchange ideas and what each of us are doing, workouts you've tried and liked, workouts you didnt like, workout video recommendations, diet tips and recipes, recommendations for those of us with serious back (or other) injuries, etc etc.
