049 Mournful Origin explains to Pixie (in a disjointed, annoying manner, as the Monitors usually do) that he is quite fascinated by time, and has decided to "play" with it. He has resurrected her to be his agent, and plans to send her back in time to see if she can actually create a paradox, as his own experimentation has been unable to do so so far. Realizing that such a thing would be disastrous if she were to succeed, she claims that she lacks the power to do anything about the past even if she went back. Mournful Origin gives her an odd piece of Forerunner technology, the Moderation Engine, and tells her to do as she pleases with its infinite power, as long as she can create a paradox for him to observe. As she prepares to depart, however, the Monitor tells her, somewhat cryptically, that he hopes she has better luck than the next fellow will. Meanwhile, the strike force prepares to assault the Gulch. Zatch tries to disable the air-defenses, but is only partially successful. One of the 3 Pelicans is destroyed in mid air (obviously the one full of redshirts, er, nondescript blueberries), while the other two manage to crashland and deploy the remaining troops. A humongous firefight ensues, with the Blues vastly outnumbered by the Reds. Pixie uses the Moderation Engine to appear to Sev in the bathroom before he is sent back in Episode 7, but cannot fully materialize--a shimmering figure in Active Camo tells him she's "not even close" to being Jesus Christ, despite his exclamation. She explains about the respawn mechanism and the timed events (i.e., Kat's armor heater failure) as she knows them from Katyara's recap in Episode 11, but she is not in full control of the Mod Engine and disappears before she can tell him much more. The intrusion into the timeline is noticed by two others, though: 049 Mournful Origin...and Active Camo Man.

Zatch manages to swap armor with the dead Redneck Freeloader from a few episodes back and infiltrate the Red Base. Pirate Freeloader discovers him, but agrees to help him foil Active Camo Man's plot, since he never really intended to hurt anyone with his "piracy". Together they manage to find the radio jammer and the teleport jammer, but only manage to disable part of the equipment before they have to retreat. Back at Swamp Base, Laird, Zimmy, and Nick manage to cobble together a Warthog, using some spare parts from a Ghost or two, and only a few bad jokes. Laird decides to drive for help as Nick and Zimmy manage to not quite kill each other once more. Sev, Kat, Yorkky, and the SSPH team find themselves back on the Island Base from Episode 7, and manage to contact Hitch and Whiskey Flight, still fleeing from the explosion of Blue HQ from Episode 9. Zatch risks a radio call, and informs Sev of the situation. He may be able to disable the anti-air defenses in the Gulch for a while if they can get there soon. Sev decides to risk the few remaining Blue forces on Zatch's plan, and off they set to take back the Gulch. Credits roll, but there's an epilogue: In the blackness, we hear an unfamiliar voice (guest star LouisWu of HBO): "Reclaimer? Feigning unconsciousness is unnecessary. I am Zero Four Nine Mournful Origin, Monitor of this facility, and you have work to do." We do a blink-open to see a Guilty-Spark model floating in the middle of the field, and we hear a familiar voice--Pixie's--say "Where am I?" Slam to black.

Sev and Kat find the entrance to the base where the SSPH team and Yorkky have emerged from the tunnels. The Purples have had a tough time holding off an onslaught of the monsters discovered in Episode 10, and Gates is mortally wounded. Rizz manages to restart her heart several minutes after the Medcomp declares her dead. When Sev enters through the teleporter, Yorkky accidentally shoots him dead, but he respawns a few seconds later, completely baffling Yorkky and crew. Kat sums up what has happened to them, but when Rizz points out that Gates was dead and did NOT respawn, Sev realizes how stupid he was to trust in a magical resurrection machine that apparently doesn't quite work in all situations. Shady picks up a new wave of the monsters headed their way, and Rizz deduces that they are actually sub-standard clones of the Sponsors, generated by machinery tied into the ring's respawn mechanism. The monsters they've been fighting all night have come from all the respawns of the past day. The team manages to get the teleporter open one-way, but it means that someone will have to stay behind to defend the gate until the last moment, and then destroy it. Sev orders the rest through (since the respawn process apparently still works for him, it's not like he can die), but he cannot operate the cannon--his DNA is locked out of the control mechanism since the clone bank holds a sample of it. Kat and Yorkky have already helped Shady take Gates through the porter, so Pixie volunteers to stay behind since she has not been cloned. Rizz is very upset at the thought of leaving Pixie behind, refusing to go when Sev orders her into the teleporter, and even knocking him through when he tries to drag her. Pixie comforts her, telling her she's taught her all she can about how to be a good soldier, and then basically pulls the same trick Rizz did on Sev--knocks her through the teleporter to end the debate. Pixie climbs into the cannon as the wave of clones descends upon her. On the other side, Rizz screams to go back to Pixie, but the one-way teleporter will not let her. A slow-motion firefight scene of Pixie valiantly defending the portal until the last possible second, then turning the cannon into the respawn controls and destroying them--and herself--in a huge explosion. Credits roll over the sound of Rizz crying over the death of Pixie...
