As some of you may know, I've been tight on cash, and at this point I was starting to get desperate. So that's when my friend Owen told me that he was going to a poker party, I joined him.

After getting some cash from the ATM, we head over to this guy Hunter's house and there were two other people there.

So we all sat down and start playing, and The Dark Knight was playing in the background on his PS3, (holy shit Blue Ray is amazing).

After a few rounds of Texas Hold 'Em, I wasn't doing so hot, so I said that this would be my last hand. So this is what happened:

My hand was a 8 of hearts and a Jack of diamonds. The first three cards were a 9 of hearts, a King of spades, and a 5 of hearts. So my first thought was that I would try and bluff it, try and make them think I had pairs or something, so I bet in 20 bucks. They were almost shocked, Owen and one other person folded, and Hunter and the other guy checked.

The next card was a 6 of hearts, so that could mean that I could get a Flush. The other guy bet 10 bucks, and I called it, but out of nowhere Hunter raises it by 50 bucks.

That was almost the rest of my money, I was sure that he already had a Flush in his hand, but maybe not. That guy folded, but called. The total pot was 215 bucks (5 from each for the antes).

The next card came up, it was a 7 of hearts, YES! I got excited, I did get the Flush, but I was certain that he had one too, even higher than mine, my flush was a 8, 9, 5, 6, and a 7, so he could have a face card or something and... Then I looked at my cards. And I noticed something....

We showed our hands: He had a Flush high with a Queen of hearts.

Then I went home, with a smile on my face.
