You have been warned.

So, who does my congratulations go out to? Ryukishi 07, because he is a FUCKING GENIUS for the twist that was thrown into episode 5, I absolutely did NOT see this coming and aside from the suspicion behind Beatrice's true motives, I just... Wow.

So, it has been revealed, FINALLY, that it was in fact someone else influencing her. Who else? None other than Lambdadelta. That fucking bitch is responsible for Beatrice's cruelty and now, inconveniently enough, has forced Battler to take her place as the Endless Sorcerer. Now that he is Rokkenjima's game master, this puts him in a much more unpleasant situation.

All this time, it was a massive build up and backstory revelation to drop this huge mindfucking bomb on us. And with the 18th person, Erika Furudo now having been recognized as a witch by Bernkastel, I'm just...

Who the hell is good/bad now?! Is it Bernkastel for putting that wild card in the 5th game? Or is it Lambdadelta for forcing Beatrice into the game? It's just... I can't...

It's sheer mindfuckery. The When They Cry series is TRULY a groundbreaking and original piece of horror/mystery/fantasy literature and I cannot wait to see how this is all going to be concluded next winter. More importantly, I cannot wait to see the development of the characters and how the next game will play out. With Battler now forced to take upon the role of proving that which he denied for so long, against a heartless and cold female doppleganger (Which is essentially what Erika is) of him, this series is really headed in a way I cannot predict.

More importantly, I just... I really cannot decide the true evil here. Frederica has really placed herself on my views as immoral. She seems to be... Obsessed with winning and having absolute victory, at the cost of one or two lives. But at the same time, Lambdadelta is just a cruel bitch who forces others to do her bidding and she ALREADY lost the first game against Bernkastel.

On top of that, I'm almost feeling like maybe Bernkastel is the true evil, otherwise why did she inject Erika Furudo (Which like her own name, resembles the pawn she presented in Hinamizawa.) other than to give herself an unfair advantage?

Most of all, I feel bad for Battler. All he wants is to just return everything to normal and at this rate, I'm concerned it's going to result in... Well, I came to this conclusion for a while:

To win the game, to deny that magic/witches/etc exist... If he wins, this means technically that the law would pass and force all magic to cease to exist. And... In the position he is in now, it would mean he ceases to exist.

But I guess this changes now. If the goal is for him to be victor, restore beatrice and whatnot, what will it mean? By reviving and recognizing Beatrice as a witch, would that make him higher than Lambdadelta?

It's like I said, sheer mindfuckery at its best.
