Five years

Today marks five years since I signed up for an account here on the community site at Rooster Teeth. Four users signed up that first day (two of our original web developers and Geoff). We didn't actually launch the site for the general public until October 4th because we spent the first couple of weeks testing it. In the past five years we have had just under 800,000 users register, which is totally mind blowing to me.

We decided to make the community site in early 2004 and met the guys who eventually made the 1.0 version of the site at E3 in May of 2004. We wanted to make a home for people who watched Red vs Blue so that they could talk more directly to each other (and us) and also so they would have something to do between episode releases (having all your website traffic on one day out of the week isn't very normal). Between that meeting in May and September of 2004 the developers made what eventually became our website.

I just wanted to say thanks for making our home on the internet one of the nicest places to be.

Suck it Burnie, you didn't sign up till September 21st

Wow, time really has flown by. In honor of the last amazing 5 years, I just finished an all episode marathon of RvB, and it's still hilarious. I love the series, and you guys deserve props for it. I love the original 5 seasons, but I'll actually have to say that Reconstruction is my favorite so far. Great job on continuing the dream, and we all can't wait for more episodes.

Also, Simmons' alt-tab-ing past the "nude_cortana"/lolcat at the end of Reconstruction was hilarious. Never noticed that before.

I still remember the first time I saw the first episode of RvB!
Can't hardly believe it's been so long.
I still love you guys! smiley12.gif

I signed up on the 7/9/05, and I didn't realise that the website had been up for only a year when I joined. There were so many users (well maybe not as many as there is now, I remember when we hit the 250k and 500k marks) and the forums were a flurry of activity. Happy Fifth Anniversary Rooster Teeth Community website, here's to many, many more years of fun and community.

Thank you for all the fun and laughs guys (and girls) on the website and especially to the people who made it.

I hope to remain here for several more years to come.
