So you've been waiting for an RvBTO journal from me, eh? Here it is!

For my views on hosting RvBTO1, RvBTO2, and my hosting hat trick at RvBTO3, click on those links, folks.

First and foremost, thank you all for coming from wherever you are in the world, as much as this thing is about RvB, it's about the community that has gathered around to drink RoosterTeeth brand kool-aid*, and I think it's fair to say we all had a good sip or two of the stuff again over the weekend, and it is a heady brew.

I think it's fair for me to say that this year was my favourite RvBTO since the first one, and that is really all thanks to our attendees. You want to know why the room on Saturday was so hot? WE DIDN'T THINK THAT MANY OF YOU WOULD SHOW! We planned for 100-115 to show up, and, while I'm not sure of the final numbers, we beat that number by at least 50.

Right before Joe opened the show with his speech and opening video, I took a last quick walk through the room. Before I left the room to watch the opening and get ready for the walk in with Barbara, I walked back to the merch table and found the only RvBTO staffer in sight and pointed to my arm. I smiled at Lukie and showed her the goosebumps that had formed just at the sheer excitement and expectation in the room.

For those of you who have met me only recently, I spent more than 4 years in stand up comedy in my younger days, and got to travel and do shows all over Canada and a couple of festivals in the States, too. Would you like to know how many times I got goosebumps before going in front of a crowd? Less than half a dozen, and we can now add RvBTO 6 to that list.

I do need to apologize that I couldn't make myself more available during the weekend, though. For most of you, RvBTO was a fun weekend to relax and hangout with friends, but for me, with my work schedule, RvBTO was like being on a Wednesday, as I had to work two days before and after. I finally have my day off today to sleep, do some laundry and just mellow out easy.

I loved working with Barbara. She's awesome, and one of the people I really didn't know all that well until about a year ago. As it turns out, we are able to bounce off each other really well, and I don't think I've worked with anyone where no rehearsal was required. We had to talk about when certain things would be mentioned, but almost everything we did just came out of a 30 second discussion beforehand. If they'll have us back, I would happily call her a c**t anytime, anywhere.

To all the staff who worked their ass off, any accolades and appreciation I might get should go your way. Read about them here. Last but not least to Ele, I love you sweetie, and try not to kick the shit out of me for at least 11 months.
