So I get my wisdom teeth removed on the 4th. I don't quite care what all the horror stories about the procedure say I just want the things out. Any advice for the recovery?

Yeah, agree with LoZelda! Also, depending on how they sew you up, make sure you follow the instructions for caring for them. I didn't have any impacted so they left an "open socket" (no stitches, the empty holes were left open) and if I didn't wash the sockets out every hour or so food and stuff would ferment in the hole. Tasted gross! Avoid dry socket at all costs, your doctor will tell you how.
At least you won't have open sockets. And now I DOUBLE agree with LoZelda - keep the meds going!!!
and drilling, or so I'm told.
Sucks for me. Both lower teeth are fully impacted and only partially erupted. There's going to be lots of sewing.

Actually follow all the post-op directions you're given (saline washes, soft foods, etc). Last thing you want in your mouth is an infection...Also, I recommend you take the first few doses of your pain medication even if you "feel fine" when you're due for them. Absolutely everyone I know, myself included, took the first one, then said "eh, I'm doing fine, I don't need it" on the next one, and regretted it massively. You don't want that stuff to wear off for the first day or two. Trust me.
Okay thanks for info. I'll, be sure to keep the medication going.
Sounds like a plan to me.
Mine are getting removed on the 5th. Advice that I've heard, SLEEP. Just go home and pass out.
