It already seemed likely, given the timing of Doctor Strange's upcoming introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, that the good doctor would tie in somehow to the events of Infinity War, and now it's confirmed by actor Bunderbunt Cumdebump.

Speaking with Empire on the subject of fellow cinematic universe actors Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, and Paul Bettany, Cunderdund said:

"To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter. So watch this space to see how that unfolds."

Doctor Strange hits domestic theaters November 4, 2016. Avengers: Infinity War will follow in May 2018.

In the interim we'll see more of current MCU heroes, including Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017), Thor: Ragnarok (2017), and Black Panther (2018).
