Hello community!

Very hyped to let you know that RTX Community Panel and Community Corner Submissions are now live. Sign ups will close March 29, 2019 at 11:59pm CT.

Before you apply for either or both, we would like to offer panel best practices and a short Community Corner FAQ in case you may have any questions.

Community Panel Best Practices:

towerPresentations are very helpful in helping you keep track of your discussions, but do not read them word for word. Add your personality and additional thoughts to those bullet points! Your presentation serves as your guideline, not as the panel itself.

towerKeep the number of panelists around 4-5 people. You only get one hour to cover the topic(s) you want to address, offer your own expertise and insight, and engage your audience with a Q&A.

towerIdeal panelists will have solid knowledge of the topics they’re covering, have good chemistry with one another, and are comfortable speaking in front of a crowd.

towerModerators are highly recommended. They keep the conversation going, on topic, and are cognizant of how much time a question or a topic is taking up.

towerRemember that you are speaking to an audience that may be curious about who you are and what you’re about, so be as open and welcoming as possible. People in the crowd may not understand inside jokes or specific references like “that one thing that happened a year ago”.

towerKeep the interactions with the audience to a minimum or until the Q&A. Unless you specifically set up your panel to accept questions during the panel, you and your panelists should be driving the conversations.

towerLast but certainly not least, when you apply to submit your panel idea, please take your time. Give us a general but solid understanding of what you are bringing to RTX and to the community.

What is Community Corner?

If you are of a creative mind, we would love to showcase your work at RTX! Community Corner is a piece of the expo floor that is dedicated to the talented artists in the RT Community. Chosen artists will get one hour to show off their art and network with fellow community members.

What artwork is accepted?

All types! The more variety, the better. We have accepted cosplayers, digital and illustration artists, those who are masters of various crafts including airbrushed clothing, storytellers, and much more.

How does set up work?

You are responsible for your own space. You will be given extra time outside of your one hour to accommodate for set up and tear down.

Will Guardians assist with crowd control/line management?

Yes! A Guardian will be present to assist with crowd control.
