Does anyone know of any real simple Flash-based chat applets?
They don't have to have any special features, not even an admin.
All it needs to be able to do is let you enter a name, and then start chatting like you would in an IM program.
I'm sure many of you would of heard of the updated Web Core Fonts in Vista. For those who haven't, you can find out about it here: slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/10/19/1535203&from=rss
Now this is all well and good, but how do you go about actually getting the fonts if you don't have Vista?
One way is to pay ridiculous amounts of money for them on a site called AscenderCorp. Another way is to download the Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer 2007, which will install the fonts on your machine. But what if I don't want to do that? Why should I install a piece of Microsoft software that I don't need nor want?
So I'm asking everyone here: is there another way for people (especially Linux users) to get their hands on these fonts?
Upon an inspection of the Add/Remove Programs dialog, I found I have three versions of the .NET Framework:
Can I uninstall the older versions of the .NET Framework without touching the v2 installation? Or do I have to remove all of them and then reinstall v2? I'm running Windows XP SP1a.
First of all, let me describe my network setup.
I have 2 desktop computers, one running Windows XP Pro SP 2 and the other Windows XP Home SP 1a. I have a chipped xbox running XBMC that accesses the other computer's network shares through Samba. All three of them are connected to a D-Link Router. I also have a Laptop running Windows 2000 SP4 that connects to the network with a NETGEAR wireless card.
The two desktop computers can see each other's files just fine, and the Xbox can access files on the two desktop computers through Samba just fine as well. The Laptop can also see the two desktop computer's files just fine. I can access the internet just fine on all computers/xbox, and i've also tried pinging the desktop computers and the xbox from the laptop.
My problem is thus: No matter what I do, how I try, I cannot get the other computers/xbox to see the files on the Windows 2000 laptop. I cannot ping it, and I cannot access it through samba on the xbox. I know it is connected to the network because of what I've tried (as stated above). I cannot see any problem with the setup. And yet, it just will not work.
Can anyone see anything I might of missed, or why it might not be working?
All of a sudden, for no reason at all, dogs have appeared at the top of every page, and everyone's images have changed.
Either the server's mucked up, RT's messing with us, or this place got hacked.
Am I the only one who's seeing this, or is this everybody, and if so, what do you think is going on?

Finished reading Artemis Fowl and the Lost Colony, less then 24 hours after borrowing it off a friend
Forgot my damn locker key
Caught somebody parking out the front of the school where they shouldn't of been after school. They were a repeat offender and I was ready with my mobile phone camera this time.
Somebody by the name of sam cross decided he'd call me gay. So I asked him "So what if I'm gay?" He told me "All gays are freaks". 15 minutes later he was in big trouble with the teacher. He just missed an in-school suspension and in stead got a friday afterskool detention and had to write a signed written apology to me. He hopefully learnt his lesson
That night I went to the Police Air Wing at Essendon air port. It was really awesome. We got to see inside police helicopters and we got to see an ambulance helicopter take off and land.
That day I lost my mobile phone. DANG!
That night the Venturer Unit went down to our scout hall to check out the disused Rover Den, to see what we could do about cleaning it up and turning it into the new Venturer Den.
Went on an excursion to Portsea and Point Nepean. If you don't know where it is, look them up in Wikipedia. It was for Year 11 Geography, and we had loads of fun, even if we got lost on the way down. It was a good excursion coz there are only 5 people in that class. I also found out that one of the guys in that class, Trent, likes The Eagles!
That night I also joined the Artemis Fowl WikiProject (coz I'm sad).
I played the Halo 3 Beta at a friend's house. It was really really awesome, definitely worth getting. Can't wait
I also saw Zelda Twilight Princess for the first time. It reminded me so much of Ocarina of Time, and made me really want to get a Wii just to play that game.
Well, that's it. I'm over with the catchup journals! (finally!).
Soon: the unresolved issue I've been meaning to tell you about.
