So today I was dragged into jamming with some kids after school and they were jamming on some Blink-182. We played one of their hits which of course was like 4 or 5 notes over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again. Then they start playing another song, and it's the exact same thing. THE EXACT SAME THING! The only difference between the two were the lyrics and the little guitar noodling in the chorus. After this horrid experience, I've established that Pop Punk is now on my top 3 most hated genres of music and I hate Blink-182 more then ever, and I already hated thier music prior to this. Nothing wrong with simple, to-the-point music, but when a band uses the same thing for two songs, that's just not cool and show that they aren't capable of writing anything interesting. The worse thing about it is all the people who eat this shit up. It gives me a sad.

I went to a concert last Saturday. Big suprise huh?

So I went to see Mastodon, Between the Buried and Me, High on Fire, Baroness, Priestess, Valient Thorr, Black Cobra, and Bison BC. I went into the show knowing every band. I was dissapointed that Bison BC went up first, because they were my favorite of the first 4 bands. Black Cobra should have gone first in my opinion, they were my least favorite, but I still liked them a lot. Best stage precense goes to Valient Thorr, because they were moving around the whole time and their singer was fucking awesome and hilarious. I don't care what kind of music you listen to, go see them! It's a really fun time. Best sound goes to Baroness, because they had the cleanest sound there, it was impressive. Black Cobra was pretty impressive, because they were a two man band and sounded pretty good, for their style of music. I was suprised how heavy Priestess was, because their more popular songs are more hard rock than metal. High on Fire was really entertaining. I knew just about every song they played and that was cool.

Now, contrary to popular belief, Mastodon was not the main reason I went to this show. The main reason I went to this show was for BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME. They were fucking amazing! Unfortuantly they could only play four songs, but with four songs alone it was a 40 minute set so it was still awesome. I exhausted my vocal chords singing along, and of course there was plenty of head banging involved(but that was through out the whole show). They sounded awesome! They all played really well and they just blew my mind to smitherings! They are all such amazing musicians. If you like death metal, or just listening to amazing musicians, give them a listen. They are more progressive death metal now a days. Also, I told every band member, except the drummer, that I love them. The singer and lead guitarist while they were setting up, the bassist while they were taking all their gear back stage after their set, and the rythm guitarist on my way out. I even told the singer and bassist that I went them to have my babies, some people thought it was ridiculous of me to say that, but these guys are fucking amazing in every way, shape and form, so I don't care. I didn't get the opportunity to tell the drummer that I love him. Basically, they stole the show. I'd go see them again in a heart beat, if they were head lining. I want to see them play for an hour or more.

Okay so time for Mastodon's review. So this time around it was dissapointing, still good, but dissapointing. As usual they played Crack the Skye in it's entirety, which I'm done with. They did good during CTS, but the little break between CTS and their other stuff took forever, it was like ten minutes, which normally it's only 3. Once they came out they play Crusher Destroyer, which I have yet to see live. That was cool but immediatley after that the lead guitarist walked of stage for a few seconds and then came back on, which was a bit confusing. After that they played Crystall Skull and then the lead guitarist left again. At this point we were a bit irritaited, and so was the band. They ended up finishing up the show with Blood and Thunder, without the lead guitarist. It was awesome seeing that live, because they haven't played that one in a while now. I was dissapointed, because I was jipped out of seeing other really great songs, among those OL'E NESSIE, which I've been dieing to see. They still had 15 minutes before kurfew too. But the lead guitarist just had to been drinking the whole time before they went on. So he was drunk and shit, and apperantley this isn't the first time he's been pulling this kind of shit. This has at other shows during this tour. Which is really heart breaking because this could lead to something serious, and I hope it doesn't. They just need to take a break from all of this touring. And the guitarist needs to stop drinking and doing drugs all of the time. Drugs aside, he's still sorta of a douche.

So anyways, it was a lot of fun. The two best bands there were Between the Buried and Me and Baroness. Also, I'm never seeing Mastodon again until they come out with a new record. CTS is getting really repetitive and shit.

Ok so in May I'm seeing Mastodon and Between the Buried and Me, the two best PROG metal bands to date.

In July I'm either going to Mayhem Festival or Ozzfest, depending on the line ups.

And in August I'm seeing RUSH aka the coolest thing ever to come outta Canadia aka THE BEST PROG BAND EVER.

And of course there are all the little local shows in between.

      LIFE IS AWESOME!

If anything is bringing me to bankrupcy, it's concerts.

Ok so as you may or may not know, I was in a little band thingy last year. That band still remains a thing of the past but from that, another band has formed, me not being a part of it. The now band consisted of two guitarists, a drummer, and a singer. They just lost their bassist. So they asked me to play bass and I agreed but I just now realized that was a mistake. One reason being that I left the band due to the fact that the drummer is a total dick. Other than the fact that we both like METAL, we are extremely different. He is a total homophobe, conservative, atheist, ignorant, and a druggie. I'm liberal, catholic-ish, understanding, straight edge, and don't hate gays. The other members aren't the nicest of people either. Another reason being that another friend and I were going to form a band, and I'm afraid he'll be upset when he finds out I'm in this one now. I would feel like a total dick if I just decided not to help out by playing bass for the band I'd rather not be in though, I'd have to deal with almost all of them at school. I really shouldn't have volunteered to play bass. Unless someone better comes up, I'm going to be in quite a pickle. Hopefully, they don't need me for long.

Put on a really good show. The two opening bands were kinda okay, nothing to special though. But once TFOT came on stage, everything was superduper intense! Sure, they have played a good number of songs that I didn't recognize, but it was still really fun.

I'm still really dissapointed that I'll never be able to enjoy that ever again, but at least I saw them before they died.

Ever since I was just a wee boy, I've always liked reading 8-bit style comics on the interweb and always wanted to make them. I never could because I didn't have the right programs to do so, and could never come up with any funny ideas. Well now I have Photoshop. I don't really know if it's the program people use to make 8-bit comics, but it should be good enough, you can do just about anything with Photoshop. So now I know of places to get the sprites, cutting the sheets wont be a problem, and I haven't forgotten all my Photoshop knowledge so I could probably do some cool things if I put effort into it. All I need at this point is ideas. My imagination is going down the drain, and I can't come up with good ideas for a series, maybe for one-liners, but I'd rather do a story/series thing. So if you have any ideas or know anyone that could help me out with ideas, that would be great. I'm really only doing this for fun but if I find a place where I can post them, you shall recieve credit! If you know anyone that already does this sort of thing, ask them what programs, sites and stuff they use. Any help with this would be great! If you need a base for the ideas, I want to do something with Pokémon, for the most part stuff from Pokémon Blue, Red, and Yellow. Any ideas will be appreciated and considered.

In other news, I am indeed seeing The Fall of Troy on their farewell tour. ^__________^

      No I know they aren't.
Tho in fairness, that isn't really an accurate view of what I listen to. That's a count since I got iTunes a couple years ago. That doesn't count cds (there would be nothing but alexisonfire, riseagainst and a couple others). But as for the pop on there, that's what's counted as most times played. There was a huge jump from those songs' number of times played to all the other songs in my library. we are talking 30 to 40 difference. Which is sad because Savior shouldn't be the top rise against song on that list but the way iTunes count's as a listen....meh

common misconception. i thought that too. doujinshi are just fan works, meaning anything made not by the offical makers. some doujin are hentai, but they warn you on the site if images are going to be even a little suggestive.

    • ConnieEdogawa

in that case, go to www.gensokyo.org if they don't have the patch to a game, they'll have a link to the patch or it doesn't exist. if i recall, the article for the patch for game 8, Imperishable Night, also had links to patches for 6 and 7, as well as links to patches to update the version of game you have so the patch will work if you have the wrong version, i.e. 1.00 when you need 1.00d for game 8. just go to the site, run a search for Imperishable Night English Patch, and that should work. they also have tons of doujins to download, if you want fun reading material, as well as translations of the few official manga from ZUN, the guy who makes the games.

    • ConnieEdogawa

yeah, start with game 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil

also, a few of the games have patches out so you can have it translated to english.

    • ConnieEdogawa

yes, but it's free to download. starting with game six, they work on windows, which is the reason 6 was the first game to become popular in the US, and 1 - 5 run on pc98 or a pc 98 emulator. also, game 12 is currently only in demo mode, but should be complete by next august's comiket in japan, and there are also side games, numbered 7.5, 9.5, and 10.5, which are also part of the continuity, and the guys who helped make 7.5 and 10.5 also made games on their own for fun, like megamari, which is basically megaman 2 with touhou characters. there's all kinds of stuff to have fun with.

      touhou.wikia.com/wiki/Touhou_Wiki

that'll tell you all about everything, including games like megamari, the actual games, the characters, even the novels and manga.
