Honestly I've not posted anything about my medical stuff, simply because... I don't know anything. I'm pretty much back to square one.
Family doctor and gynecologist referred me to a gland doctor because it seemed my thyroid was acting up a bit. But according to this woman (oh my god... this fucking woman), everything that is wrong with me is due to my thyroid. She goes into a 30 minute lecture on why she knows, what schools she went to, who she learned from, etc, to prove her theory. Then tells me that my no menstrual cycle, bloating, and even the infertility is due to the thyroid (possibly? I'll get to that later).
So before I even seen this woman, she had prescribed me some medication. It was making me sick. So I asked a pharmacist, and they said stop taking it until I see this woman, because I may be allergic. (Basically I was non-stop gagging after I took it. I had no control over my gag reflex. When I stopped taking it, I was better).
So I go to see this woman, tell her about the gagging, and how the pharmacist recommended I stop taking them until I saw her. Then she says "Pharmacists don't know anything. They are idiots. If you ever have a question about your medication, you call me instead of talking to them"
So she says I should take a half a pill for a week, then move up to a full pill for a week, then continue taking a pill and a half.
She continues with how the thyroid controls everything in the body and it can effect almost anything. Starts talking about how even my period stopping and infertility could be caused by it, and if I follow her instructions, there is a chance it will fix in time. (But I may still possibly have premature menopause, and not to get my hopes up. Does that not just contradict what you just told me?!)
Then she tells me that the gynecologist shouldn't have put me on birth control (I was put on it because I was getting no estrogen). I ask why, and she says I'm getting too much estrogen (Wait, what? Can they not track how much estrogen I'm getting?) So I tell her the gynecologist said I have osteoporosis in my spine because I'm getting no estrogen. And she goes on telling me how the gynecologist is wrong. It's because the thyroid is messing up and it's somehow sucking the calcium from my bones (Then why only my spine?)
Okay, whatever lady... I guess it makes sense... but I'm not stopping my birth control just in case you are wrong.
So I go home, with more questions than answers. Then a couple of weeks later I get a call from the pharmacy telling my that doctor had prescribed me 3 medications and they had been sitting there for 2 weeks (This woman didnt tell me she was prescribing me anything). So I go and pick them up. One was the medication for the thyroid. Okay, got it. Second, a medication for the osteoporosis. Alright. Awesome. The third..... the pharmacist asked me if she explained why she was giving that medication to me. I tell her I had no idea she even prescribed me anything. Pharmacist recommends I don't take it and call to ask what it was for, because she had no idea.
This is all around Christmas and New Years, so I cant really call her because she's not in until January 3rd. Ok. So I start taking the thyroid medication again. So I do like she recommended. Half a pill for a week, then upgrade to a full. By the 3rd day of taking a full pill, my throat started feeling tight and I was having a harder time breathing. Ok, I may be allergic to the pill. So I stopped taking them.
January 3rd rolls around. I call this woman to ask about the mystery pill and tell her about the tightness in my throat. Receptionist says she will have her call me back. So I wait a day. Next day, they call me back and tell me I have to make an appointment. So I ask when the next available time is. Since she is a specialist, it was over a month wait, and I had an appointment booked before the available time anyways. SO MUCH FOR "DONT TALK TO PHARMACISTS AND CALL ME!" >=(
So as of right now, I have two medications I paid over 60$ for that I'm not even taking... this woman won't answer me, and the more I talk to my family doctor, other doctors, and the pharmacists.... no one likes this woman... Time for a new specialist I guess.
