So it's been three weeks since I've taken my big leap. Going okay so far. Thought something might have gone better than I hoped, but you learn from it & keep going. Not letting it discourage me. I've got the best supporters possible!

So...I'm finally in a place in my life that I'm happy about. It's not that I haven't been happy... it's just I wasn't in a place where I was proud of myself & what I was doing. Now, I am...mostly because I'm finally working at a place I love...& I will admit I'm happy about the pay & benefits.

So now I'm working on the final part of my life I've been neglecting. I took a BIG leap & did something today I usually would be too scared to. I'm proud of myself for it. So wish me luck & maybe...just maybe...I'll fill that final part of my life.

Registration Day is over...technically. Lots of parents & students visited, making sure they had all the info they needed...though some may still have incorrect info. We're a brand new school system. There are going to be kinks. But it's looking like either we're going to have lots of parents coming by this week or we're making lots of phone calls. Either way, I'm excited we're finally getting stuff done after all this preparation.

So my first week at my new job was a huge success. Really like the people I'm working with. This coming week is going to be crazy, including inservice training & a 12+ hour day on Tuesday...it's registration day for the kids. But I'm excited about it all.

Day One of my new job is complete. It was a very easy day. Met a few of my fellow office ladies, who are all really sweet. I'll enjoy this day as I won't have too many more of these.

Happy RTCommunity Day!!! Been a while since I've written one of these. Lots have happened.

First off, my sweet friend Keesha finished her chemo treatment a few months ago & is doing great. The tumor has shrink by 75% & the spots on her bones, liver, & lungs are healing. She's currently on a maintenance drug & will see her doctors once a month for checkups. And her hair is growing back!

Second, I've finished my last day at the preschool today. I'm gonna miss seeing Joy & the ladies & of course the kiddos every day, but I'm excited to start my new job on Monday. I'll be the special education clerk at Bon Lin Middle School. So looking forward to being about of the school especially since my city has started its own school system this year. This means this girl will probably be spending a little more money in the RT Store. smiley0.gif

Third, my dad had heart surgery last month to repair his mitral valve. Though he was in the hospital longer than we wanted, everything went great & he is doing really well. My dad is one of my heroes, & it was really hard to see him right after surgery with the all the IVs & tubes, especially the breathing tube, & see how disoriented & scared he was. But I'm grateful to all his doctors & the nurses in CVICU & Cardiac Stepdown for the care they gave him...and for putting up with him as he got more frustrated with being stuck in the hospital.

Now to get some more RT & AH videos watched before I go walking this evening.

      Update on my friend

So the past two weeks have been busy and difficult for my sweet friend Keesha. Had her first two doses of chemo last Monday & Wednesday. The procedure (kyphoplasty) to repair the two vertebrae in her back that had fractures because of the cancer was a success. Though she is still very sore, Keesha is able to stand up and move around much better than before. It's a big relief for her. But the chemo has made her hair start falling out so she decided to just cut it all off. She did get a wig in preparation of this.

This week she was forced to be admitted to the hospital due to the chemo dropping her white blood cell count and causing her to get an infection. According to her doctors, this is normal for many patients as the purpose of chemo is to kill the bad cell while unfortunately, killing the good ones at the same time. But the IV antibiotics worked, reducing her fever and bringing her white count back up to normal levels. She'll hopefully be able to come home today or tomorrow.

      My friend, Keesha

The past week and a half have had fun, happy moments and one really big not fun, happy moment. One of my dear friends, Keesha, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer the Friday before Thanksgiving. She's only 30 years old, 5 months younger than myself. This is the first major thing to happen in this group of friends (9 of us) w're a part of.

Keesha is one of the sweetest, generous, loving people I know. She comes from a wonderful family with good values. She'd never hurt anyone or anything. She's doing her best to hold everything together, but I know she's nervous and a bit scare. Her doctors are every optimistic they can treat it and put it into remission...unfortunately, it is not curable. Yesterday, she had a port-a-cathe put in, discuss the treatment plan, and had her first dose of chemo.

Luckily, she has so many people giving her positive, loving energy and prayers while she goes through this, including Kathleen. She asked on her Twitter account for what we are thankful for and I told her about my group of friends. She reply touched my heart, and she even read of my e-mail on her Good Deeds video from this past Friday. Thank you & much love, Kathleen!

If you could take a moment to say a quick prayer for my sweet friend, it'd be much appreciated. I'll try to post updates on her progress if anyone wants to stay updated.

      Much love & God bless,
      Ciara

*sigh* This week has been hell regarding news from my group of friends. First, one of my friends' grandfather passes away unexpectedly. Then another friend goes to the hospital concerned about some pain in her arm. Run tests and a CT scan and it's possibly cancer...the last thing any of us expect. Bad thing about all this is these two friends are best friends and the first is flipping out due to the other not waiting to tell her until after her grandfather's funeral. First friend is not thinking straight. Myself and another of this group are trying to be the positive/optimistic ones. Hopefully, when the final results come in it's not as bad as thought.

      Fingers crossed and prayers said.

      Work related

So I just spent about 4 1/2 hours on work-related online training that should have taken 3 hours...and I haven't even fucking finished it yet, not even at the halfway point. I have to do 18 hours of training a year, whether online, classes, etc. Ergo, I decide to take this class on my day off, thinking it'd be no big deal. WRONG!!!!!!!! And I know exactly what the problem is, their fucking servers because I tried other website that have audio and video files and had no issues. Thank goodness for RT: RWBY, VS, Rage Quit, Let's Plays, etc.
