I turned 22.
The day started out like any other day lately. Wake up in the mid afternoon, shower, and play video games, in hopes that one of the many stations I've sent my demo reel will call back. But since yesterday was my birthday I thought I should do something to celebrate it, I mean, I only turn an age once a year so I need to do something to celebrate. But there wasn't much I could do since my birthday this year was on a Wenseday and most of my friends are away at school, or have to work the next day. So what do I do? I go shopping with my mom, oh how glamorous but looking back at it, it was nice to spend time with the person who cared for me and raised me. Then we cooked dinner and my dad and I went to a theatre/mall and went to go see Defiance, but we were an hour early so we went to a Mexican Grill/Bar called Adobe Gila's and shared a few adult beverages. Now i'm not one to drink, nor am i a person who goes to many bar's (last night was my first time) but I wouldn't have had it anyway than to do it with my old man.
Thanks for giving me the gift of life mom and dad.

So I've been without power for the past three days. Why? Well Hurricane Ike. Who would have thought that a hurricane force winds would still have power up in the Ohio Valley. I mean the hurricane hit Texas, I'm in Ohio. That's a long fucking way for a hurricane to still carry strength.
What I think happened was when the hurricane, or tropical depression i really don't know, i'm no meteorologist, went across arkansas it continued to have steam as it went north along the Mississippi River. Needless to say Sunday afternoon around 3 pm the entire state of Ohio was hit with 75+ mph winds.
I don't recall ever being hit with such winds. 84 of 88 counties had lost power and over 1.5 million people we without power. My power finally came on last night around Midnight. Let me just tell you, having electricity definately rules.

... and it's basically consumed my life. To think that CoD4 has had this much of an impact already. I'd hate to see what Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed brings... *gulp* Not to mention I just got hooked up to Xbox Live this afternoon and 5 hours quickly passed. So if you're every on CoD4 and want a newb to snipe at, look me up my gamer tag is AidynMichaels.
Oh and if you do try to snipe me, be mindful cause I'm known to be a quick learner and an even quicker trigger finger. That will be all

As some of you may have known, I moved out about a year ago into a lovely little townhouse. The lease was for a year and that year is soon to be up which meant that I had to move out before the 31st of this month. Well all that's been spead up maybe two weeks.
This morning I woke up to this funk, a litteral funk. I go down to my basement to discover a rather large puddle (maybe3-5 across) in the middle of my basement floor around the storm drain. Naturally, there was aclog and a little water back up. I call my room mate and he suggested we play the waiting game. So I did.
I went to work at around 10 and came home a little early at 1:30 todiscover thatthe water didn't subside, it instead rose. (Thank you Phil for suggesting the waiting game) Instead of beinga few feet across it rose to cover the entire laundry room and a foot into the carpeted area of the basement (about 25-40 square feet here) all of which was under probally an inch and a half of water. Not just normal water but sewage, raw human excrement.
So i call the maitenence people and my room mate and for the next two hours my roommate and I sift through the water and carrying our possessions that weren't soaked(none of mine were buta good bit of his were). In doing so I decided to just take a good bit of my possessions to where I will be moving too (my parents).
Problem with that is, I don't have a bedroom now. THe one at my apartment reeks of a bog and the one at my parent's is under construction. Looks like I'm going to be sleeping on the couch for a couple weeks. Oh yeah, I won't be online as much either so if you need to get ahold of me you know how.

So last night around 8:30 my friend decided to take a little trip. So we head on out with our destination unknown. We go to a local gas station to attain some gas and it was during the moments as octane filled the tank that we decided our destination. Pennsylvania. We new our route, we new it well for we traveled it daily on our way to and from work. Some may know it as Johnstown while others know it as its true form, US 62, but nevertheless we staid true to our course. Winding through the country hills and dark canopies of trees, even slowing to a crawl to make way for an Amish buggy we make our way towards our destination. Town after town we wind our way through seeing names like Martinsburg, Berlin, Alliance, and Youngstown as we cruise our way. All the while we jam to our assorted artists that blast through the car-stereo while we make comments on the horizons and about issues that we are passionate about. Before we know it we are coming onto the great Pennsylvania line. After 175 miles and nearly 3 hours of driving we claim our victory and turn back 'round after only treading one half mile into the great steel state. Now 2 A.M. quickly becomes to 3 as we choose to take an alternative route as we make our way home. Cruising at a much faster pace we grow bored of the surroundings. Fighting exhaustion and using the Maidens of Britain to keep us awake we continue our final leg of the journey as we enter into Columbus Corp. Limits. Finally, we see familiar territory and our eyes burn with exhaustion, my takes me back home where we part ways as we both crash in our beds. Though we may be tired we did ourselves proud, by driving to Pennsylvania and back and to share this tale, but mainly to say, "because I can."
