Ah, today was just a great day altogether. Of course the way I was woken up this morning totally sucked. My sister decided to sit on the floor at the head of my bed and drip water onto my forehead. I wiped it off (which was quite a bit) and starred at the ceiling for a minute. I felt someone behind me, and she started laughing when I looked at her. I got up and got changed, because I had to run to the bank and open an account. The nicest lady offered to help me, and she was so nice! Her name was Terry. We set up my account and while she went to get the duplicates of my account information, I noticed a little sand box sitting on the table behind us. I went to move the excess sand from the top when she came back. At that point, she asked us if we needed life insurance. I had always thought it was real expensive, but it really isn't. So, my sister and I got life insurance today! Woot woot! Got home and showed the grandparents, and they were so proud of us. Called my mom, and told her, and she said she was proud too. I got to see my cousin and talk to her for awhile as well. She only comes to the house every couple of days, and I was glad that I caught her. We're doing our paperwork for school. I finally convinced my sister to go with us. This is going to be so cool. Even though it is just Community, I feel that we are making a good move forward. I really wanted to go to Colorado College, but I'll stick with my family if it keeps them motivated.

    • 1408. . .SPOILER. . .

I just spent the last hour and a half, give or take, watching 1408. I believe that I had a misconception about this movie. Of course, I didn't know what the hell it was going to be about, other than a room trying to kill a man. The emotions that I just experienced are far more ranged with this movie than most that I've seen. For insistance. During one part, the entire room is incased in what seems like a brick wall. There's a door, but when you look through the peep hole, there's a brick wall; the windows only give a view of a brick wall. Thusly, I felt EXTREMELY claw-straw-phobic. But, that's about it. Since that one part, that's all I felt throughtout the rest of the movie. The ending kinda sucked ass. Was a great ending for this type of movie, but yeah. Sucked ass.

All in all, I've gotta say it was a really good movie. Definitely made you guess wither or not he was actually out of the room. I really liked SLJ part, however small. You kinda gotta figure some of the things out yourself though. Like, what the hell was that guy doing up in the airducts? I figure he tried to escape the room, but ended up getting lost up there and died. The two people that jumped out of the windows, obvious. But what about that thing running after him during the beginning of his stay? What the hell did it have anything to do with anything? That's pretty much the only thing I can't figure out.

Well, it's 2:30 in the morning, and I'm not even sure if it is, cause we're suppose to drop an hour for daylight. So, it could just be 1:30. Either way, I've had a long day, and I'm extremely tired. I'm going to go do my game forum right quick like and hit the sack.

    • Ah....what am I going to do?

      Andora

In nine days, I have to apply for school. Now, it's not a big name college, let alone a real one. Yes, that's right. I'm going to community. The only reason I'm going there is because I'm going with my cousin. No big deal. What's the problem you ask? The fact that I don't know what to do. Do I just take my basics and then transfer? Do I take an automotive class and then join the military with a Ass. Degree in Mechanics and become a mechanic and then in about ten years retire and become a mechanic for some big company? Or do I do what I always wanted and study biology and zoology and start working for some zoo?? WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??? Do you see my dilema?

I think right now the best thing for me to do is take the mechanics course and go into the military. If I keep my brain straight and take care of myself, then I should be able to do that. And then once I join the military, apply for the GI bill and then go back to school and finish up with biology.

*SIGH* I don't know. I would like to try culinary classes, but I'm more of a cook than just a chef. I think I'm okay with my cooking skills as they are now. No one ever told me how hard this was going to be. But, I guess that's what life is all about!! I think I'm going to go mechanics. Yeah, that sounds good.

After just four days of working and having two days off, I've finished reading CTRLALTDEL completely. Holy crap man. I honestly didn't think it was ever going to end. I'm going to wait for LFG to load up a couple more comics, as well as HISHE. They don't update as fast as LFG, but I'll work with it. I guess I'll go read AppleGeeks or Nukelear Power. Ah hell. I didn't finish OFTS. I think I'll go finish that one before starting a new one.

Besides that, I've just been so busy with work and trying to stay sane and not think about the new Hellgate London. I'm so bummed about that. I've got to get a new PC all together. . .maybe that's what I'll do. Or I can just go and get the damn 360 and be done with it. Okay, sounds good. I'm out for now!!

I recieved a phone call today. It was a rather important phone call that I have been waiting for since last week. The company that I had been working at before I moved here to th Springs called me back about a job that I had applied for here. I had an interview last week and all they were waiting on was my background check. It came through and now I' ve gotta go tomorrow and fill out the paperwork. All I've gotta say is this: I've been here less than a month and I've got a job. My cousin, who's been here all her life and unemployeed for the past year doesn't have a job. My sister has been at the same job for two years. And all I did was sit at home in my pjs and fill out an online app.

But alas, this leaves me barely any time for RT. It's going to be okay, I just won't be able to get on for hours on end at night like I do now. Maybe every other night! Lol.

Ah. I had fun today. Of course, I didn't wake up until about 10:30 for some ungawdly known reason. I found breakfast on the table as my grandmother brought it back this morning, so I went and ate in her room while she watched her soaps. I only ate it cold and so late cause she said I had to have breakfast before joining her in the candy feast. Lol, grandparents. Ya gotta love 'em! SO, I came back to my room and took a shower. We were going to bingo (I've been going since I've been back home) and I had to straighten my hair. A bad haircut from about eight months ago is finally starting to look okay again, but it just gets all curly and wavy, and it's not pretty. So, we get Papa from work and we head over the Officer's Club on Peterson. Long story short, I forgot what pattern we were doing (N row + Corners) and decided that I had to fill in the O row on my last paper. Lol, Pat turned to me and said I only needed one number on that one, so I panicked cause I had went into a daydreaming state a little while before. Luckily, he called it next. I screamed. I think I mighta gave someone behind me a heartattack. Lol. I won another game after that. Ya know, Bingo is SO not a good game to play. You get all ancy and anxious. Your stomach gets knotted. Ya, and then you have a mini heart attack when someone else calls bingo and you were waiting for one number.

Lol. Then we came home and I found the funniest video on myspace. Ya, I got a myspace. Won't for long if I keep coming back here. They don't have Karma. Lol. But yeah. That was my day today. A good one!!

It started to snow today. The first snow of the season. I woke up at 730 for cream of wheat, and it didn't seem that cold downstairs. It seems to be coming down pretty hard right now. Johnny came home last night around midnight becasue she was scarred that something would happen on her way home from Brenda's. Ah, good times. Good thing we got that garden cleared out yesterday. You can always tell when it's going to snow. It's bright at night. I always did like it during the night time in the winter. Anyways, I've gotta go and try to take a picture of it again. I'll post it when I'm done.

Ya know, I had to retype that title three times because I thought I was spelling it wrong.

Anyways! After laying down in the rec room floor I decided to read Burnie's blg from the very start of it all, and after losing the concept of each blog that had a link directed to it, I made it to page 58 where he wrote a blog about Night Watch. I stopped because I rememebered Day Watch just came out and I loved both the book and the movie. I found a spiffy little website that gives you the release dates of DVDs. The unrated Day Watch dvd should be out the day before halloween. There really wasn't anything else on there that showed me an interest. I think now I'm going to go and finish reading upto page 50 (7 pages left) and then head over to LFG and VGCats. Also found a new one CtrlAltDel, so I guess I'll read up on that one. Later for now people!!

Lol. I'm sitting here dling stuff and my sister is next to me on her lap watching something called Fallen Art on another site. Well, thinking I'm still on that site, I start typing it into the search bar. After about ten minutes, I get irritated. . .then look up at the five drawn characters looking at me with those looks. Lol, yeah, I feel kinda dumb.

Thanks for that! I am probably over studying for everything at uni - I know the alternative is a job spend staring at an ugly wall without any windows for several years (or at least, it was in my case). So, for example, when we were asked to research something, I was up until 2:30am three nights running, reading through newspaper websites and making notes.

As you can probably guess, it was only covered briefly in class... *sigh*

I'm learning as I go - there is only a little work in the first year... I should do less!

No, I've never even really looked to see what God of War is about. I've heard people enthusing about it, but my console collection stopped growing with the Dreamcast. I have an XBox, but rarely play it... in fact, despite being a huge games fan when I was younger, I'm not really sure what games have come out in the last few years!

I'm not a rabid retro fan - I'm not claiming that old NES games had something that PS3 games don't, for example - but life just got busy, and I just fell a few steps behind in the console war. Now I've just started uni, so money is going to be tight for the next few years... Probably the best I can do is find someone who has bought a PS3/360/Wii, and see how many hours I can get on their system instead!

So... it's a good game, then? Something you're happy to put time aside for?

i have no trouble believing that Weis has written a good, stimulating series! While I accept it has a huge number of parallels with LOTR, I enjoyed the Dragonlance Chronicles and Legends, and the Death Gate Cycle was excellent - I know I've read through them all several times. It's not all perfect, though - there was a series she wrote called Star of the Guardians (I think), which didn't really do anything for me. I read them, her writing style is always readable, but the story itself just didn't grip me at all.

I found the last level of Perfect Dark hard, until I found a way to get twin Phoenix pistols - set them to explosive shells, and it made clearing a path through to the last boss a lot easier. But once I started on Perfect agent, it took me a few days of practice to get even the first stage clear... I enjoyed the game, but there is only so many times you can lose before it starts to wear thin. I come back to it every year or two, though. It's too good to put to one side and forget.

As for the books... No, I hadn't heard of them. I like Margaret Weis's writing (moreso when she writes with Tracy Hickman, though), but I've mostly been trying to catch up on the piles of books in my room, before buying too many more. Even so, Weis books would normally make a short list of being worth buying, and jumping to the top of the reading list...

Are these new books any good? Should I try and track them down ASAP?

Hi! Welcome to the site, and specifically (because it's where I saw you post) welcome to the Discworld thread! It's a great place, though I'll be the first to admit the thread can get a bit random too.

Also, I see on your list of games you mention Perfect Dark... I agree, that's a great game! I was never too good at it, though - I think I made it only two stages in on Perfect Agent difficulty. I had more success with Goldeneye...
