Time for a little story! So a couple of months ago I was rushed to the hospital and found out I had pancreatitis, this came out of nowhere and I was placed on a no food or liquid diet. After a week of living off of my IV, I was able to move on to a liquid diet and eventually discharged. My time in the hospital was not kind to me and I lost about 25 pounds in a week. Fast forward a couple months to now and the doctors finally figured out what was wrong with me, my body just produces too much cholesterol and is not able to fully break down foods naturally. I was glad that I finally knew what was wrong and that I was taking meds now in order to keep me stable.
Before getting sick I was always eating as healthy as I could and working out whenever possible. Being a college student I didn't have much time to do either but I still got it done. The hospital trip was a huge hit, I lost a lot of my muscle mass and it's very difficult for me to start working out but it has to be done! (My forced no fat diet is also draining me of all energy but I'm working around that).
I love the idea of Buff Buddies, it gives me more support and incentive to workout as much as I can and to keep on top of things because I have to document it. My first week of working out was difficult but at least I was able to accomplish something; I started off running as much as I could and riding my bicycle around. Eventually I will start weight lifting again, but only after taking all my medications, vitamins, and drinking a lot of water. At the end of my journey I just hope to feel as strong as I once did and stay as healthy as possible, this is my ultimate goal.
Good luck on everybody's workout journey and remember: "today's actions are tomorrow's results!"
