Yes, my friends. Its almost here. The thing that will make my grades plummet. The thing that will rob me of sleep for days.

      SKYRIM.

I've waited months for this. Afterwards, there will not be a big game release for me until March 2012.
Don't know 'bout you, but I'm leaving for my local midnight launch in a few hours. Brothers of Tamriel, tonight will be a night to remember! smiley13.gifsmiley13.gif

Gah, I never thought I would see the day where I stopped checking RT, Reddit, etc. regularly, but... ugh.

Well, technically I've been with RT for a lot longer, but this profile turns 1-year-old today. Still exciting! :D

I'm sure you've all heard about Sony's recent... issues. Not sure I have an opinion on the matter directly, but I will say this.

I don't want to start a flame war here, but I seriously do not understand why so many people on so many gaming-news (and other) sites are rushing to Sony's defense so quickly. I'm a Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo gamer, and if the other two did something like Sony did here, I would not give them any preference. Is it fanboy-ism that fuels this passionate stand for Sony's defense, or is it actual loyalty?

I don't think that this ALL Sony's fault, but I certainly think they could have handled this much better. Now that's not to say that any OTHER company would have, but we aren't speculating here; this is reality. Sony was hacked, they are the one's who are going to have to answer to a crowd of angry customers, half of whom are actually angry, but also many people who don't actually know what happened; they're mad just because everyone else is.

In their Terms of Use, Sony (just as other companies do) pledges to keep the personal data you give them safe. More accurately, they promise not to pass it out to people, but common sense rules that its almost the same thing. May I remind everyone who has a PSN account and is actually defending Sony in all this that you guys are the ones getting screwed. Now, I am also a PSN subscriber, but unlike some, I am not rushing to their defense. Then again, I'm not chastising them and saying that they should get dragged to court either.

Now, before anyone else goes jumping to Sony's defense, think about a few things:

      1) Why do you care what people say about Sony? Does their criticism affect you directly in any way?

      2) If yes, go ahead and keep up your defense; good job covering your own ass. If not, why are you wasting your time and energy defending a massive global corporation that brings in billions of dollars a year in revenue, and yet cannot protect your information effectively?

Seriously people, it doesn't make sense. To give an example, when the BP Deepwater Horizon spill was going on in the gulf, I don't remember every person who regularly fills-up at a BP/Arco station come running to BP's aid, saying stuff like "Guys, calm down, BP is under a lot of stress, and is trying very hard to clean up the spill, so lay off, okay?" or "It was the workers' fault, they weren't giving the Well proper maintenance!" or even something like "Guys, BP's working really hard to clean-up this spill, stop blaming them. We should really be mad at the fishermen who's businesses are getting shut down, so they're complaining about it. Yeah, its their fault for being angry, when they really don't know shit!"

So to the people who keep on defending Sony and trying to redirect blame (for whatever reason): you can keep at it if you want, but its not going to be worth it is the end. All we can do is sit back and see what comes of all this. I'm not saying that the people criticizing Sony's reaction are any better than you, but they are merely reacting to the somewhat shocking news, which in most cases directly affects them.

Don't get all angry and flustered over this, I'm just saying that you should think about this before passionately fighting Sony's battles for them.

Sorry for the essay, but there's my two-cents.

Note: Yes, I created an identical thread in the "18 and up" section. This is its twin, since I realized this is more of a game than anything else... :P

Alright, so I'm sure most of you out there have played this game or heard of it before. Its quite simple, and very immature, but not so immature that its not fun. :D

      Steps are as follows:
1)Think up 3 people, real or fictional, man or woman, celebrity or not, alive or dead, and list them out. Everyone is fair game.*
2)End your post with "Marry one, Fuck* one, Kill one. GO."

*Except children and any animals, for obvious reasons.
*If for some reason you don't want to swear, you can say "screw" instead of "fuck".

      For example:

      Oprah
      Beyonce
      Megan Foxx

Marry one, fuck one, kill one. GO.

--People then respond to your post with their answers.
--To make things interesting, you can also give people odd traits. For example:

      Oprah with no arms
      Beyonce with no legs
      Megan Foxx as a zombie

Marry one, fuck one, kill one. GO.

      You get the idea.

There is only one general rule: Whenever you post, you can reply to any previous posts you want, but you MUST post a list of 3 new options for people to reply to at the end of every post.

So I guess I will start:

      Kim Kardashian
      Kesha
      Natalie Portman

Marry one, fuck one, kill one. GO.

You know, it was weird. I died once during the boss.

First time, I only had 190 in the Cain, and I hadn't used it since Horizon, and I had the Cerberus Assault armor on for the extra 10%.

A Harbinger gave me an ass kicking and when I respawned, I had 200. Weird. But yeah, I was squeeing at how quickly the Harbingers went down now.

Scions were always a damn pain in the ass.

Last area in the Legion recruitment mission was tough too. Amazingly, moving around helped in such a small area.

      Hmm.

I just finished the Arrival mission, and I found the extra Heavy Weapon upgrade.

Back on the Normandy, that provided me with Heavy Weapon 5/5, which gave me 75% extra ammo.

So the Cain has 175 energy in it. So I'm wondering if someone is wrong, because I've maxed out the expansions, and I can only fire it once.

But yeah, made a save just before I accepted the Arrival mission, because I have to go back and get the other 2 achievements, not on Insanity.

    • milesprower 2005 Ten Years 2015

Yeah I get the feeling that I'm gonna have to do at least a partial playthrough as a Biotic to get these last achievements.

Didn't check to see if there was one for beating Arrival on Insanity. But this is the last time I'm using my main Shepard before ME3, so I'm not doing EVERYTHING - just getting everyone loyal, and all the DLC that could have an effect on ME3. Already did Shadow Broker. That wasn't TOO hard.

What part of the collector ship gave you the most trouble?

I thought for sure it would be the platform segment, but I only died once there. It was the section with the Praetorian that gave me trouble.

And by the time the Husks were done mass rushing me, I hardly had any rounds left.

But the effectiveness of Kasumi's Shadow Strike against the Harbingers simply astounded me.

Haven't done the Arrival DLC yet, so this'll be a first time runthrough on Insanity. Hope nothing catches me off guard.

And you...if you keep on giving me all these awesome tips, when I finally end up beating this thing, I'm gonna have to kiss you.

      Whoo!

Collector Ship beaten! Only died about a dozen times, too.

But do you know where I can get some more heavy weapon expansions? Right now the Cain has 180, and I get the feeling if I can't fire that thing twice, I don't have a prayer against the Human Reaper.

    • milesprower 2005 Ten Years 2015

Well, I chose Geth Shield Boost, and then took that to Heavy Shield Boost, the 100% bonus.

On Lair of the Shadow Broker now. It's certainly useful. Instant shield recharge on demand.

    • milesprower 2005 Ten Years 2015

      Hey there, another thing.

Before I get too much farther into Insanity (on the Thane recruitment mission now, got Lair of Shadow Broker waiting and a plethora of loyalty missions ready to go.

Do you have a suggestion of what bonus power to train and max out? Right now I've got Heavy Reave, and it started out good, but now is proving more and more ineffective.

      Any recommendations?

The Hasbro MLP toy line has been around since '81.

There was a TV series for it in '89

This one, Friendship is Magic, is very new, started in October 2010, and immediately gained a cult following of older viewers.

I wish I could tell you.

For me, the obsession is only three days old.

My mom and sister could attest to that I am a cartoon lover, but it's never been like THIS, and this time, it's more of an epidemic.

Wikipedia even has an entry about the show's older demographic following, and the creators have acknowledged the older fans, and have encouraged them to keep watching.

In the 8 episodes I've watched, I've seen the humor evolve. It's gone from giggle-funny and chuckle-funny to crack-the-fuck-up-funny.

And yeah, you can probably tell who my favorite character is. ^_^

Yeah, most chain emails are delivered to my spam folder, and thus are harmless.

This one was from my aunt, which are usually accurate and current. I doubt she knew that is was a revised email that was already 4 years old.

Heh, I'll do more then let you know.

Chances are I'll be hooking up my small capture device here so I can show everyone how much of a bitch some of it is. Right now I'm guessing the colony boss at the first encounter with the collectors, the first collector ship, and maybe the Legion loyalty mission.

Nothin' scares me more than that platform section on the collector ship though.

Yes, the Immolation of Vader on Mustafar, and not the Padawan getting gunned down on the landing pad, no. Most believe it is Anakin igniting his saber against the Younglings in the council chamber.

Even I was nearly in tears at that scene when I went to the midnight screening. (Yep, nerd here.)

By the way, before you get into the RP, you should know the timeline and such. I'm not worried about your knowledge of the ME-verse, but I just want to clarify that this is starting about a month after Shepard dies, which basically means all ME2 tech does not exist yet.
