Hey guys, I usually don't spread stuff like this but its for a good cause so hear me out.

1st HBCT, 3rd ID has a project on the "Pepsi Refresh Everything" website, it's for a memorial to honor their fallen soldiers. All I need you to do is click here click the vote button, and repeat as many times a day as you can, up to 10 times a day. They need to be in the top 10 by the end of the month and they're at number 15 right now. Please help if you can, spread the word around, etc. I'd appreciate it guys.

      Thanks!

My Company's XO got relieved of command last week for undermining the authority of the commander, and just found out my First Sergeant is leaving the company come Friday (due to hush hush reasons I think). Great freaking news, I hated both those sorry ass (excuse my french) women (No sexism, just hate bad leadership) Our new XO seems pretty cool, and one of our E-7s is going to be acting First Sergeant until we get a new one. This is great news because I really don't feel like deploying with incompetent leadership.

On that note, my deployment date is coming up pretty fast, should be in theater (meaning in Afghanistan) around January 26thish. Block leave is from the 20th of Dec to the 4th of Jan. At least I'll be home for Christmas.

Got to shoot a .50 Cal Machine gun Monday, pretty fun but nobody qualified, it's pretty hard to hit people 1,000 meters away. Went to the M16 range today, shot 31 out of 40, so I get to keep my Sharpshooter badge.

That's about all I got as of now. Hope all is well, I'll be around.

What I'm building when I get back from Afghanistan. I'm gonna have a lot of money to play with and so I'm going to build a car. I won't get into details of what all I want to do, but I will say it involves a 240SX.

Well, right about now, I was originally planning to be announcing that tickets for RvB:TX were on sale. Unfortunately, that's not going to be the case. You might have heard that the RT staff has their own event planed for late May. We, the organizers of RvB:TX, don't feel it will be possible to compete with a larger and better organized event, so we're officially canceling our event.

But all is not lost! We're keeping the group page for two reasons:

      1) RvB:TX will now be a hub for all RT fans in and around Texas. We'll keep people up to date on RT related events in and around Texas, from small meet ups to the RoosterTexas event the staff is planning. If you have not already done so, please watch the group to stay up to date on the news.

      2) We're planning a smaller get together in Austin this winter. It won't be as big as our original plans, but it'll still be a chance for fans to get together and have fun.

For more details, please see the journal here.

I've been alright. Changed since last time. ROFL I remember when I bitched at you for drinking beer... heh heh... Well whatever. I am now educated in the realm of drugs.

Apart from the street G's, school has been alright. Joined the Fall play and hope to do the spring musical. Grades are FUCK, 10th grade is a trip, dude. I hate it. Might join a screamo band, me being the screamist, or whatever.

Our school has school on Friday, because they're fucking idiots. But whatever. It better not be a bullshit day. Have you ever wondered why we get up before sunrise? We're one of the very few mammals that do it. Eh, it's bullshit. I don't know why we do it. Oh well, fuck school.

Apart from rants about school, I think I should get laiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiid. Eh, who knows.

So whats the difference between a junkyard part and a new part? Besides a bunch of money. You can clean everything up, and still save money.

    • burgundy

Thats why its a project bro. Start with the body, get it done, then move onto the powertrain. You can do other stuff too, like a junkyard LS1 and junkyard trans.

I agree, but there are like a billion 240's. IDK just the fanboi'ism pisses me off. Might as well buy a flippin Honda.

      Finish your Camaro.

Yeah, thats been done a million times. Not saying its a bad thing, its a proven setup, and can be good, but IDK... I am just turned off to 240s now. In the last 2 months, we have had 6 more show up in town (small town).

Friendly Neighborhood RvB:TX Admin here! Just a few updates on the group today:
      1) We officially have 200 members! Sweet! You Guys Rock!

      2) We'd really appreciate it if everyone watches the group and checks the forum every few weeks or so. We post polls and messages on the group and we need YOUR input to make sure that this RvB:TX will be the best yet smiley0.gif . If you already watch the group, thanks a ton! If not, go here and click the watch button. There are also polls concerning likelihood of attendance and optimum ticket price in the group forum.

      3) The event is being tentatively scheduled for next March. Hope to see you there!

      4) We could really use the help of a Web Designer. if you or someone you know could help us get even a bare bones site running, it would be greatly appreciated. However, please note that this will be an act of volunteerism on your part. We'd love to pay you, but we just don't have the money. But isn't being able to say that you designed a site in order to celebrate the greatest Machinima series ever reward enough? If you are still interested, please contact myself, or one of the other group admins.

      5) Keep active in the group. The planning staff is constantly looking for cool ideas for events, and they are the best spot to get yours out there.

That's all folks! Keep your eyes glued to the screen for further updates.

Also, it has variable valve timing on the intake and exhaust side (I believe). Not sure that that would entail on a cam.

    • burgundy

Haha, as much as I would love to, the price would be insane I am sure. And the big turn off to the cam companies is the extra lobe for the high pressure fuel pump. Since my motor is direct injection, it uses a cam lobe to pump the fuel.

We've already started making the plans for it... It's Mardi Gras and all but one of us will be 21 so we all really really wanna go. And the one girl that won't be 21 already volunteered for DD all on her own. We were amazed and thought we'd be driving back with massive hangovers.... haha so now we're just gonna start drinking here and continue drinking when we get there and drink more until can no longer hold a drink to drink. hahahaha

To be honest, I don't really like the way the newer ones look.

IMO the E39 is the last good-looking BMW, and the E38 is definitely my favorite 90s design.

    • BobSalawalatski

Heh, I would imagine an M3 would be particularly expensive to own.

    • BobSalawalatski

just got on and read your last few journals, now I lime where youre going with the bmws, but Im obligated to remind you that beemers are very expensive on parts, whatever you decide, it might be a good idea to see how readily parts are available for the model you get, I found a nice 94 3 series for $2k and all it needed was shocks and struts, but parts plus labor for that was easily another $2k.

I'm sure youve already thought of this, but like I said, I feel obligated

Haha, believe me, I am more than well aware of this, and I've got a plan.

I do a lot of work myself, and what I can't do myself, I can have my old Auto class teacher do, since my brother is in his class now. Even though there will be students working on it, he makes sure it gets done right, and there's Absolutely Zero Tolerance for BS.

And I figure it'll give the students a taste of what it's like to work on a German car. I remember in Auto class, they all said they wanted to work on Porsches and Audis. Heh, not after my old Bimmer, they won't.

Thats exactly what I said to my Captain. I mean, it wasn't his decision, and i understand the decision, but it is dumb. The funny thing is, he will be the one to make a decision that kills someone. His experience is good, but his training is lacking. Lack of training kills. Not being able to make a split second decision kills people. IDK... I edited more onto that journal if you are interested.
