I'm really clumsy at expressing myself, ESPECIALLY in writing.

    • #000: Rooster Teeth, Achievement Hunter, & 2013

Funny, this was something I've been wanting to write for a long time. And I wouldn't be able to write this all out on Twitter, so... why the fuck not do it now right here?

This is a big thank you to everyone at Rooster Teeth and Achievement Hunter for making (at least) the latter 6 months of 2013 a (half?) year full of laughter, inspiration, and a whole bunch of other stuff I can't put into words because I am horrible at expressing my emotions.

What started as a link to "Rage Quit: Surgeon Simulator 2013", ended up becoming my favorite thing on the internet. Eventually being shown Acheivement Hunter's Minecraft LPs got me hooked, and watched through all of the Minecraft videos, then all of their other LPs.

After binging through those, I... I don't actually remember the gist of it, but after the LetsPlay channel started, I checked out the non-LP videos. I don't remember what it was, but I'm sure it was either an RT Life or Animated Adventure. Or "Jack and Joel play Kinectanimals".

Anyway, after catching up on over 10 years of content (except the podcast; I couldn't expect myself to listen to 200 or so hour-long podcasts; there was also other stuff too.), there was something that came along that sort of cemented myself as a fan; RWBY. I remember hearing about it on the podcast, just thinking "What the hell are they talkin' about?" I actually ended up watching the premier just by random, just thinking "Sure, let's see what this is." Then about 12 minutes later (that's how long the first episode was, right?), I ended up joining the site pretty much so I can watch it a half-hour earlier than others. This is where the inspiration part comes in.

I... I guess I can call myself an artist. I draw, but "artist" doesn't really sound like something that sounds like me. Sound.

As the show kept showing, I became more inspired by(and intensely jealous of) Monty and the show's staff. I'm not really that picky of a person when it comes to things like this, but to make me really into what you've created that I go "Yeah, I want to be like this" is really something. Well, to me, at least.

But all the shows and comedy aside, the one thing that makes me love Rooster Teeth is that I want to be friends with these people. I'm a fan of a bunch of things, but nothing I like really makes me want to become friends with those people; RT is different. Maybe it's because of the stories they've told, but I feel like I know them, to an extent. A very, very, small extent. Y'know, I think Burnie may have said that during a podcast at one point.

... I actually don't know what else I can say, to be honest. Except that everyone who works there has is good looking. I know I'm not the first person who has said that, but goddamn, it's true.

Anyway, I've talked (typed?) long enough.

Thank you to Burnie, Gus, Geoff, Gavin, Michael, Ray, Jack, Ryan, Lindsey, Barbara, Ashley, Miles, Kerry, Monty, Kara, Brandon, Marshall, Ben, Joel, Arryn, J.J., Jordan, Caleb, and everyone at Rooster Teeth (I feel really bad that I don't know the names of the more 'behind-the-scenes' employees, too) for adding a new obsession to my growing repertoire of nerdy stuff, making me laugh when I feel like shit, and inspiring me to do what you guys do.

I hope 2014 brings more laughs, and more memorable moments. Happy New Year, you magnificent motherfuckers.

      Goddamn, that was fucking sappy.
