Work and work and more work has taken my time since I've gotten home. WIll post more pictures and do a better journal for RTX.

...okay, I also really got into Smite. It's bad. taking away my sleep, but a great game (despite some pretty hefty lag that forces you to leave everything)

After watching the adventures of "Acquisitions Incorporated" (Penny Arcade's Mike, Jerry, and Scott, with Wil Wheaton) from PAX Prime (youtube them, they are fantastic), I've found a new resurgence to get back into Dungeon's And Dragons. ANd boy do I have a long way to go.

It all started at age 11 when my uncle gave me first D&D starter set. 6 classic characters, a dungeon map, and a lot of pop-out enemies. My friends and I never quite grasped the delicate intricacies of the game, but we still have fun nonetheless. But sadly, high school and college stuff got in the way of us continuing our adventures in the Land Of Radical....

But lately, I've been feeling the itch to start a group and campaign with a more....put together character. Especially with my love of writing and story-telling, I really want to just create.

      So, my characters include:
Vespa Hex, my human Psionic. A natural genius who's parents and town were burned to the ground when she was 15. Armed with only her father's prized Orb and her mother's sense of personal freedoms and books, she will one day find those responsible for setting her aflame.

Graah'l, my defunct dragonborn Fervent Commander. A brilliant tactician and physical force not to be pushed the wrong way, he was wrongfully blamed for unspeakable crimes in a civil war and exiled. He is hesitant to return, but when he does, he will rip the herectics and reclaim his army. (Side note, one or more characters must beat the information out of him. THere is no way he would openly admit to his failures).

And then there is Shred Radboaster, my human Bard. He's an experienced man who loves to travel and is eager to learn what he can. He's the most supportive ever. And when he has proven his worth and knowledge to the fullest, he will then return home and ask for the fair maiden's hand in marriage. FOr she is of royality, and all his life Shred has been a commoner.

I had just created the Bard for a supportive leader character, but as I was telling my girlfriend I began to imagine how his "epic destiny" would play out. And with each thought forming, I began to thread together what that would be. That he would convince his group to come with him and help him with this proposal. Each character would use their strengths and skills in a non-combative way. For entertainment, cooking, security, and all sorts of trick that would make the group think waaaaaay outside the box for this one so that Shred could ask his fair maiden's hand with complete confidence and aplomp. And he would either retire or ask the fair maiden to come with him as a partner (ranged scholarly rogue or something, haven't gotten that far)

It was this kind of thinking that made me want to design non-combative quests for a DM. Now I know doing several of these things in a row might WILL definitely get boring and tiresome. However, I think that some of these sparsed throughout the campaigns could definitely be refreshing. I don't have much else than a scavenger hunt that does lead to a combative end, but I've got time.

      But until then, I'm LFG.

(Feel free to comment about your experiences with either D&D or a charcter from an RPG you flushed out. I'm interested to see what everyone has to offer).

One of the cool perks about having a girlfriend that plays video games, is that you get to play co-op games together and enjoy all of the feels and wonders that were achieved playing it before. And also see her face light up to the same reactions that I had before.

So a couple of months ago, I was playing Halo 4 when Krista comes down and watches me play. She loved the graphics and fell in love with Cortana, and immediately asked to play. So I lent her Halo CE and left her to er own devices. Sadly, she had trouble just as she left The Pillar of Autumn (yeah, that expansive second level that all of us got lost at on our first runs of the campaign trials). So I came by her house a few times and we got to playing one of our first real co-op games together. And I was pretty amazed to what had unfolded. Sure, there was a bit of a learning curve for her, but we got through. And the best part, I still remembered all the little things. Like all the big ammo stashes scattered throughtout the maps. Or even grabbing a Banshee and skipping the second half of "Assault on the Control Room". I remembered how scary the Flood was after forgetting about them. You know, since Halo 4 didn't have any of them . But seeing her trod on behind me and level Covenant as we zoomed based them, that was just spectacular to go through with her.

And then, Halo 2 came. With Dual Needles. DUAL. NEEDLERS. AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
and I forgot how satisfying dual wielding was. I even taught Krista the "Noob Combo". But we took down Brutes and Covies alike. OH yeah, and she really enjoyed the Arbiter, as well as the religious background the games were puesdo-based on. And she got teary-eyed when we had to leave Cortana. She kept asking me "Will we get her back?" And I wanted to say "yes, don't worry", but then it hit me. How could I have had a lesser reaction to losing Cortana? I mean, I guess I could say I didn't see the intricacies past the FPS aspect of the game. I guess it never hits you until Halo 4, about how important those segments of code really are.

But the best part was Halo 3. We freakin' rinsed it in six hours. Krista took what she learned in the little time we had and we kicked ASS. Somewhere around like 10 deaths for her, but we made it through. She's now very excited to re-tackle Halo 4 (and Reach as well). I'd love to her some of her reactions to it, so hopefully she'll take a moment to collect and summarize her thoughts.

Also, thanks to @scheree for a lovely commission of both @corsetscars and myself being in this moment.

Okay, so quite a bunch of stuff to log onto my journal.

First Off, almost done college. One more semester and I can work full-time!!!! (sarcasm)
Speaking of which, back to work at my internship is quite dull and loooooooooong. But I am thankful for the opportunity to get experience and get paid for my time.

Very excited for RTX to come. Gotta help @CorsetScars with her rtx project. I'm working on some other school stuff (possible job) that might help improve...something. Not sure yet.

And also on new projects...I've had some time to sit down and start collecting alot of my past ideas for writing and stories and stuff. I've also been doodling a bunch (though not as good, it seems a lot better than my previous standards). It sucks that I really don't have any artistic skills like so many of the community members. I've always wanted to help create a webcomic, but it seems like I can only write stuff out with words rather than draw them out....Ah well, I'll find a way.

Anyway, Summer is coming soon. Relax and enjoy the nice weather to come everyone!

In all honesty, what causes a person to choose an option not part of the everyday blend? What causes a person to feel the desire to rebel or go against a system?

I'm writing something that is heavy on this choice to act on rebellion in a...."perfect" society. I'm not sure I'm giving the reader the optimal reasons for wanting to go against the societal standard, and I would like some input for inspiration.

I'm very proud of myself that I can complete games and achieve great things. Thanks to achievement hunter and the community for their helpful videos and strategies. I got it during my playthrough of bioshock infinite. It was really cool, and @corsetscars got to see how I tackle games. Nowhere near Ray's gamerscore, but I'm proud of my achievement.

Also, if you haven't seen @Dylon 's new channel DylonShow, here are five reasons why you should watch it:

You need money....lots of it....to do what you want.

I need to stop myself from viewing kickstarter. Especially since Philly favorites Continue? have a new Kickstarter with lots of great rewards and I do not have to fly out to claim any of the higher tier rewards. Shoot...can my bank account take a $1,000 hit? Has my history of a backer not proved my worth? Grrr......I've got a month to decide. I mean, who jumps on those $500+ tier rewards within the ten minutes they have been posted?

Wow, totally didn't realize that. I'm pretty sure I can pass it with Bioshock Infinite when I get home. That will be a cool achievement I guess. Got the list of achievements and come this weekend (or probably within 2 hours of playing bioshock) I can pass that milestone.

It was great to meet you and the rest of the team in person on tuesday. Also, it seems that in your RWBY highlights video, you were very generous to give myself and @corsetscars a couple of cuts. So i guess we are thankful for that as well smiley0.gif

Best of luck in all of your endeavors and future projects.
