From the folks at Audio-Technica, just in time for Halloween. Hopefully @SkullYacht @Podrick & @JJ will never have to use these techniques.

It's pretty cheesy, but I enjoyed it. It's also pretty obvious that it was filmed by an audio company because the lighting is crap, @Chris would be disappointed.

I can't remember the last time I was this tired, that includes three tours in Austin as a Guardian at RTX.

11 months ago I bought a Sleep Number bed. It was the greatest purchase I ever made. In 35 years on this planet, I was getting the best sleep in my entire life. I had never been a good sleeper. It would take hours to be able to fall asleep and my deviated septum has plagued me with chronic sleep apnea.

The Sleep Number bed changed my life in ways you couldn't imagine. For the first time in my life I was waking up before my alarm clock(s) would go off and was actually feeling rested. I no longer needed to drink 32 ounces of coffee in the morning just to be able to function. My energy level through out the day were back at high school levels and my reflexes and cognitive abilities were back to peak form.""

This morning I woke up 3 hours late, stiff as a board and aching all over. My Sleep Number mattress has sprung a leak...

On the bright side, at least I didn't have a water bed that sprung a leak. Which actually would've been worse for the store front downstairs. Come to think of it, that'd be pretty funny because the owner is kind of a dick.

TL:DR My bed broke and I'm tired and cranky

I know most of you know about the RWBY Vol 2 screening at the Alamo Drafthouse in Yonkers next Thursday October 30th at 6pm.

So I was able to buy a ticket last night, anybody else from RTNY gonna be there?

Day 3 of NYCC started a little crappy. I woke up late and it was raining, but @killklli texted me that he had the day free so we should meet up, which we did. We caught up a bit, then walked around a little. I wanted to get Ralph Macchio's autograph, so we waited in line. The line was short because he was over doing photo-ops and hadn't gotten back yet, so there was maybe 15 people ahead of us, but quickly filled up all the way right after we jumped in. We then watched a guy get kicked out of line for trying to sneak taking pictures of William Shatner, which was pretty funny.

Then the other side of the room erupted in cheers and we were all curious as to who could've gotten that kind of ovation and it turned out to be Bill Nye. Which was funny because Shatner and Macchio came out together and they didn't get half that.

We saw some cool cosplay after that and I took some more pictures.

      MothaFuckin Barf from Spaceballs!!!

Then we got on line early to get into the Dr Who showing. We managed to make it into the panel room in time to see the Pilot episode of Constantine as well. I was a little skeptical of it at first, but it quickly grew on me. I think it's gonna bloom into a great show.

We got out around 9:30pm, stopped for pizza and then I ran into this cute couple in front of Penn Station:

      Day 4 was LOOOONG

The train was about an hour late so I didn't get to the Javits center until about 2pm. I had planned on stopping at Katz Deli because someone at RT was tweeting that they were missing Texas food despite how good the Pizza was. I could probably eat pizza everyday, but it should be a crime to come to NY and not have a proper pastrami sandwich! That didn't happen though because some freakin water mains decided to break and make all the trains late.

I managed to get autographs from the other cast members of Karate Kid, and then they ran out of change at the signing booth so I got an added bonus of a picture with the Cobra Kai Sensei, free for $5. smiley8.gif

      IMG_20141012_140704794.jpg

      Mercy is for the WEAK!

Then I ran into some incredibly good Byakuya and Hisagi crossplay:

      IMG_20141012_144828356.jpg

I made it in line to get one more autograph for a friend, and that was Jonathan Frakes a.k.a. Commander Riker from Star Trek: TNG. Two funny stories here, one, I got tapped on the shoulder and asked if I minded if they cut the line. I was about to turn around to tell this lady off when I looked to see it was Gates McFadden (aka Dr. Beverly Crusher) who was trying to jump the line for someone she knew. How could anyone say no? The other funy thing was that the guy in front of me was CosPlaying as Commander Riker. Mr. Frakes then starts critiquing the beard. He said to the guy, do you know the phrase, "Jump the Shark"? and then says, "The opposite of that is when you do something that makes the show take off, we call that 'Riker the Beard'!" I Lol'd for reelz.

I was exhausted and took the rest of the afternoon off because we had out RTNY meet-up dinner at 6pm. Hung out with most of the old crew, met some of the newer crew and had a great time over some Greek food. Then the 20 of us made our way to Chelsea Pier for some bowling and about 40 more folks turned out to hang with us and Barbara and Kerry. Thought I may have to go into Guardian mode for a while because Maury was worried about the crowd, but everyone was orderly and polite and a pleasure to hang out with. Then this happened:

      ah.roosterteeth.com/archive/?id=9817

Which was fun as hell to pull off and it only took two takes!

Made the last train home chilling with Chris and Chaz in the NJT terminal to get out 1:15am trains back to Jersey. Then walked home, got in the car, drove Chris back to his car and ended up in bed about 3:30am to be up at 7:30am for a full day of work. Woke up feeling like a truck ran over me, it was con-flu finally catching up with me since I managed to get away scot-free at RTX this year. Still though, an incredibly fun 4 days and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat!

    • Advice for New Sports Fans

On this week's RT Podcast, @Gus made a comment about why he decided to root for a specific team in the Premier League:

I want to cheer for a shitty team, that way if you win, it's really awesome. I want to have my expectations set so low that anytime something goes well it's like "Yeah, that's awesome!" You can celebrate a lot.

As a Mets fan of 32 years, I can assure you that the theoretical logic in that statement does not hold up in practice. I can tell you however that the reverse is true growing up in a family full of Yankee fans. They're so goddamn spoiled that they can win the World Series 3 out of 4 years in a row and still be bitter about that one lost opportunity years after the fact.

My advice, don't like any team. Only watch sporting events to appreciate when great plays happen with no emotional stakes in the outcome of the game what-so-ever. This way no matter who wins, as long as there were entertaining plays, you will have enjoyed yourself.

    • Birdnapping

So my roommate is watching a bird for a friend who's on vacation. I got home about a half hour before her and thought to myself, "Self, how funny would it be if you brought the bird into your room and then opened her window so that when she walks into her bedroom she finds no bird and an open window?!?" So originally I thought it would be hysterical. So I managed to get hold of the bird and transport it into my bedroom and then opened her window and hid back in my room with the lights out.

Then the bird started talking and I quickly realized it was a bad idea to fake kidnap an animal that could rat me out. So I quickly closed the window and put the bird back where I found it, only to realize that in the 5 minutes I had it in my room, it managed to poop on my air conditioner...

I now think I know how Joel felt while scrubbing the Tower of Pimps.
