      IAN :

I must be retarded, or the two websites that are the current cause of my idiocracy are to blame, which is a distinct possibility because they are none other than Myspace and Facebook.

For over a month I have been trying to upload new photos to my pages on those blaspheming watering holes to no avail. The files are jpegs and under the size restrictions, what happens after they upload is that they become super contrasted (they look cool as hell, don't get me wrong, but I need them up like the originals) anyone have any suggestions? They work on here, and they work on my website so I don't think they are the files, plus they work on photobucket, the problem only occurs after I uploaded to the site.

      Saw the Dead last night!!!!!!!!!

That's all I gots to say about 'dat.

Things are spinning way too fast, not likin' it one bit, not one bit! wooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

The 4/20 went well, the weather was horrendous so it wasn't the greatest turn out, but we broke even (whew) cause I'm broke! I think I'll start using staples as currency, who wants to make the change?

Things are rolling, one way or another, more like two steps forward and then one step back, so I'm getting there sooner or later. I'll have to get the drawing from Monday night scanned and uploaded soon, I'm still having trouble uploading the "newest" images to myspace/facebook, but who the hell really gives a damn about those places? Really glad I haven't had time to check those, bah bah, Here's where it matters!

On the writing front, I'm still plugging away, back and forth a bit, I do feel like my time has dwindled for both the writing and art, but it always goes back and forth, I'm checking out this MFA Writing program in Vermont, it's low residency so I only have to make two 10 day visits a year, so that would be cool, and who knows what. Things are going well for my brother, I haven't had a chance to talk to him about it yet but he had his big read yesterday with Parker Posey and Michelle Williams (and some other actor forget who) but he's a member of the New Group now, which is a prominent Theater Company in NYC (there's about 5 big ones that fund all the broadway plays going on and that's one of them, so kudo's to him)

The new Tom Robbins book came out, B is for Beer. I love him. This book is a childrens book for adults, or an adult book for children, one that Erik and Randy will read to their children 51dq3-71TxL._SL500_AA240_.jpg, heh, love the beer education! I'm still reading, just finished a condescendingly horrible book called the World in Six Songs by Daniel Levitin (don't read it it's crap, good for the wholes in which I want to concentrate further potential research).

I'm going to Some Kind of Jam this weekend with Caitlin and her friend Christine, I can't wait for that, it's a cheap jam fest where I can be out in the woods listening to tunes all weekend, I really need this retreat! And then on Wednesday I am going to see the Dead. I had to do it, it being 2009 and all that's transpiring, though it put me further in debt, it's all going to be worth it.

That's essentially it. I'm rushing and hope I haven't forgotten anything. I miss you guys, hope all is well. Now I must adjourn to work. Adios Amigos.

      -Chris

      Brakus

Sorry I haven't been on here updating, I'm trying to upload 6 new drawings for march but having some difficulty, I'll try and get that up soon. Been busy getting preliminary work done for the 4/20 show.

Haven't scared off Caitlin yet, and I guess we are "seeing" each other, or "dating," or "going out," which ever you prefer. She's really cool, cute, and reads Tom Robbin's, need I say more?

I'm sitting in the coffee shop about to get to work on a new script my buddy Steve and I are working on, will keep ya updated on that. Guess I should get to some work, I haven't cleared my watch list because I intend to get through it shortly, I truly hope all is well with everyone, haven't chatted with anyone from here in a while, should be getting back on "schedule" so will be on here updating a bit more that the past few weeks.

      Talk to you all soon!!

Left work early, got to see Marty break the record (actually missed the end of the game)
      AAHA077_8x10-2006celebratesMartin-B.jpg

The "date" went on, ended up being much better than I expected, originally we were going to paint together, ended up suggesting a ride to the beach spent a few hours there, we were by my old school so I wanted to show her this freaky building where we could also use the bathroom (thank you bladders).

      570672012_dceb68da29.jpg?v=0
Woodrow Wilson Hall (where I had my English classes;his old summer home where they filmed "Annie") Supposedly haunted (nothing ever bothered me all the nights I would sneak in there) so we snuck in again, was really cool at 2 am, spent a lot of time there and then when we were leaving there was a cop patrolling with a flashlight humming and whistling a creepy tune, so we snuck passed and out, it was all very movie esque. We came back to my place, hung out and talked and spent the night. We have a lot in common it would seem.

I'm not use to the concept of someone liking me, I'm taking it slow with this one.

The 4/20 Show is coming together nicely, we're going to have the fliers printed this week. I'll have a formal update on that a little later.

I took off a month ago from work today.

      Not for St. Patrick's day.

Tonight Marty Brodeur can break Roy's record.

      Tonight I had a date.

They bloody put me on the schedule.

I'm not a happy person right now.

I don't think I can talk the wife into letting me drive 14 hours to New York to watch a concert. It just pains me that they were all born about 15 minutes down the road from me and they won't even come to Tennessee, and they're now HUGE down here.

Nobody likes the social networks. Except for the people who's life consists of who's going out with who and who said what to who....that sounds like a Dr Seuss title.

Your right about the catch-22. I always find it amusing when some financially secure writer says, "all you need to do is sit down and write. You don't need this or that. Just write." Ya, that might work for them. But the rest of us need to make money somehow until that day comes when we make money doing what we love.

And yes I know that's not exactly what they mean when they say that. It's just all I can think of. It's life. There's more to it than just one thing.

The Time Machine will only take you a several days if you don't have much time to read. It's 12 chapters of wonder. Kind of lets you know how books are supposed to be written.

I have Barry Lyndon on my Instant Q, but I haven't found 3 hours to devote to it. Maybe your recommendation will give me a jump start. I also want to watch The Fall. I have it at the house, but haven't found the time with the wife to watch it. Maybe tonight, though.

Wrath is awesome. Sadly, the cd was left in my truck which is in the shop. Luckily the loaner they gave me has satellite radio and it's Wrath Week on Liquid Metal.

Ya usually I don't go to the mall, but it was the only place I could use the gift card. Good idea about the mp3 player. Never actually thought of that.

I hear ya on the Thesaurus, I have one on my desk, I just never use the desk, I need to pick that up more often, hate it when that happens, makes ya feel like a moron.

Well I always feel like a moron. So it all works out. There's a saying in chess that I always liked. "You don't get to be a stronger player by playing weaker opponents. You become a stronger player by playing stronger opponents." Or something along those lines. You might have heard it before. Anyways I think that logic can be applied to other things as well. Take reading for example. You don't learn new words by reading kids books. You read something above your knowledge level. At least once in a while. Or while writing, you don't try to match a mediocre writers ability. You hold it up against a masters work. Granted you'll never match it, but you'll get farther when having the higher standards. Though that's all common sense that I'm sure you heard a million times like I have. I just like the logic of the chess saying.

      How are things?

Ya I got nothing. Just the normal everyday things. Well other than went to the mall here to use up a Boarders gift card. Once I was in the mall i wanted to leave. It just reminded me of why I hate the mall. Too many people and too many conversations where the word "like" is used at least three times each sentence. I guess its a rule or something there.

Wound up getting Catch 22 if you were wondering what I wound up getting. A book I know your familiar with. Also ordered a bunch of books online. Life Of Pi, Choke, Pride of Baghdad, Watchmen, Waiting For Godot: A Tragicomedy in Two Acts, Death With Interruptions, and The Diamond of Darkhold: The Fourth Book of Ember. There's a wide breadth of genres. From kids books to graphic novel/comics to a play to classic fiction.

After watching The Lives of Others again I want to read some Brecht. Also need to get a thesaurus. I was brain dead trying to think of one word the other week. It finally came to me a week later. I hate that. I could think of the meaning just not the word.

I think the most amusing aspect is how every time they scream communism and make a sketch out it they are suddenly Russian. As if we were ever to change to communism we're also going to change our language to Russian.

Also I guess these guys never looked up Socialism since Communism is an extreme case of socialism. There are how many countries out there that have socialist aspects to them that are not communists. To me it seems they are all worried about loosing a huge paycheck that they're just going to put in the band anyways. While the average American can't afford any medical bills.

It's the whole web part of web design i don't understand. I can imagine, as you could, what it should look like and how it should work. The problem is getting there. I remember looking into it years ago....didn't get very far. Maybe if i had one of those web design software programs. But i don't and they possibly still wouldn't help me. I'll stick to art on a single sheet. As you said it just so damn complicated now days.
