      . . . Diiiiiiid you miss me?
Sorry I haven't been on a whole lot lately, but I've been busy looking. Looking at the calender and seeing my birthday fly by last saturday(Nov. 10th), looking at my bank account and seeing that someone is fucking with my ends, looking at my work situation and seeing that i'm going to get busy, and looking at my bed to see it get further occupied just to have it empty right back out.

I suppose you are wondering what i did for my b-day, right? The answer is not much. I had to be in Milwaukee at 8 am both saturday and sunday, so me destroying myself was out of the question. But my dad did take me out for dinner, which was a nice change of pace. And I suppose you are wondering I just turned 27.

As probably few of you may know, I haven't been working any overtime this past summer. For us hourly guys, overtime is a Godsend. Without that, that was about $340 a month missing out of my pocket. So i said to myself, "I gotta do this, I gotta take on a second job." So I went out and applied, and I got hired on at a small home improvement store. You might have heard of it, it's called Home Depot. And that's why I had to be in Milwaukee this past weekend, for orientation. And no, I don't get discounts there. At my full-time job, we just fired the VP of Manufacturing, so with that douche bag gone, the job cabinet is filling back up in a hurry. So fast in fact that we're already talking voluntary overtime, stay late at night. I guess when it rains it pours.

And I met a girl. I met her where i donate plasma. I went out with her for a brief period of time, in which I learned that she had issues, and it was not ment to be. And my sisters won't let me hear the end of it.

But enought about me, how about you?

. . . about a pint of blood to replace that which the mosquitoes have drank on me. They weren't bad untill about sunday noonish when the population just exploded. And when that happened, they flew off with a few small dogs. . . rotweiler sized small dogs.
Other wise, I'm doing fine. How about you?

    • That's gonna hurt

Tuesday night, while I was at work, I was forming up a part, and pushing it together with my hand, my hand slipped and sliced my right thumb open. How bad you ask? Deep enough to require 4 stiches, but not deep enough to cut the nerves and tendons. OW! No I didn't even say that. It was more like, 'Hey guys what do you think of this?' So that sort of ruined my 4th, no fishing, no football, a little frisbee, only because I can catch it with my left hand, and 12 oz curls of course. I went to the Fireworks in Fond Du Lac, and they put on a pretty good show.
So how was your 4th? Where did you go, did you set off your own fireworks, and who was it with?

And just a special Thank You to all of our armed forces that have fought and are currently fighting for our freedoms, so that we may enjoy the 4th for many years to come.

Edit: By Popular Demand, my thumb.
      rhhandha8.jpg
sorry i don't have any pics when it was wide open
      rhhand2ap4.jpg
as i was thinking that it would be more important to apply pressure than to take a picture.
you can clearly make out the 4 stitches.

I got a bit of interesting news at work today. One of the welders has been out sick for a couple of days, so he went to the doctor. The doctor ran some tests, and one came back positive for TB(Tuberculosis). Extreamly contagious, sometimes fatal, so the doctor quarentied him to run some more tests, just in case it was a false positive. So what's the guy do? He's gotta hand deliver the doctor's note to work. What The Fuck??? Even though there is about a 90% chance that it was a false positive, you still act as if it was a positive.
Even though I didn't talk to him directly, (I would have yelled at him and told him to get the fuck out of here now) I talked to guys who talked to him, so I was indirectly exposed. Just for that stupid stunt, I just want to kick his ass.
So now we just pray that it was a false positive, and that nobody get sick from his stupid ass.

    • Interesting Study

A 2006 study found that the average American walks about 900 miles per year.

Another study found that Wisconsinites drink an average of 22 gallons of beer per year.

That means, on average, Wisconsinites get 41 miles per gallon. Isn't that cool!!

Good thing to know with the gas prices the way they are.

    • I went riding this past weekend. . .

      Brechek

      . . . Jealous much?
But anywho, this trip was up to Ceder River Michigan (da UP der hey), and it was a blast. Overnight trip where I put on 127 miles on the wheeler. The trails were sandy, but well maintained and open.
And of course i've learned a few lessons this past weekend too.
Lessons I've learned this past weekend
1)Slime is a good and useful substance for when you have a flat tire. If you are going to carry it along on the trail, make sure it is packed away tightly in your bag, so that the top cannot pop off, thus covering everything inside.
2)Have a good tool kit handy, and know how to rebuild a carbuerator, just in case the float gets stuck on your ride.
3)When transporting Gas, Make sure the cans are securly straped down so that they do not fly off your vehical.
4)Straight 30 weight oil is an ok substitute for 80 weight gear oil, just make sure it gets drained and replaced as soon as possible.
5)A dead bottle of Slime will work great as a funnel when topping off gear oil, or any oil for that matter. Just make sure the bottle is cleaned out. and
6)If you ever stop at the Lighthouse Inn Restaurant in Ceder River Michigan, Beware the hot sauce, it will melt the cup.

    • I hate being sick. . .

      Brechek

and yet i've been sick for the past too weeks. But today, I also caught a wiff off of my water bottle, and it smelt rank. that might have something to do with this sick buisness.
So what else is new, well my dad got re-married about 2 weeks ago now, and he asked my to be the best man. Personally I don't think it's a good idea, but you only have one old-man, so of course I said yes.
How about Easter? Mine was pretty good, and although it's not that often you get to see your parents drunk, we got mom drunk on easter. It was fun to watch, and even better that we didn't have to go anywhere. And just a mental note, that overproof Jamacian rum doesn't fight fair.

Well, it's been a long week, 10 hour days, 6 days this week, so i'm pretty wiped out. Chat with you later.

P.S. Send Hall's and Miller Lite.

    • My good deed

      Brechek

Normally I don't post my good deeds because I am humble in that aspect. I mean we're all in this together, and I'm here to help. But i'm posting this one because. . . i need a beer after it.
This started out with a weather forcast. Blizzard. 2-4 inches of snow overnight. So my lead man at work asked me if I'd drop him off at the hospital on my way home so that his pregnant girlfriend doesn't have to drive home is this storm. So I drop him off at the hospital and start heading home. It's nasty. I'm all over the road just trying to find the median and figure out where I am in relationship between towns.
Luckily I caught up with traffic, and made it to my road safely, and I see a car at the end of my road, good, some one is waiting for us to pass. No, he's in the ditch. Thankfully he missed the power pole, and is ok. So I pull over, see if he's ok, see if his car's driveable. It is, so I tell him, "I got a rope at home, I'll get that, come back and pull you out." So I go home, get the rope, come back, hook up, and don't pull him out. The crusted up snow is keeping him put.
So then I say, "I got shovels, I'll go home, get those, come back, dig you out, and pull you out." So I go home, get the shovels, come back, and drive in a slightly different way, and get my truck stuck. So we dig out my truck, then I back up to his car, hook up, dig out his car, and pull it out. The battle is half won, now we need to get him back onto the road.
So there's a driveway in the field that I intended to lead him out. I missed by about 10 feet. My truck made it out fine, his car didn't. So I drove back in, pull him back, and he went at it again. Got stuck. Pulled him back again, and he drove forward again. Got stuck again. But this time he was far enough up that I could hook on up front and pull him onto the road. The entire ordeal took about an hour.
Yup, it's time for a beer and a nap.

    • Thank You Deputy Evens.

      Brechek

Friday, after I gave plasma, I was going to quick run out to my dad's house to get some wiring done on my truck. As I was driving along, I came up to a 4-lane highway that required me to stop. So I stopped, waited for traffic to clear, and then gunned it across the highway. There happened to be an officer on the other side, who clocked me at 53. He pulled me over, tells me that it is a 35 mph zone there. I then turned around, and had seen the sign going into FDL that designated a 35 mph speed limit, and I replied, "No shit, it is 35." So he wrote me up a ticket for $180.
The next day, Sat. I was getting ready for work, when my sister brought the phone out to me and said it's Deputy Evens. Of course I recognized the name, cause it's the same guy that pulled me over Fri. So i'm thinking, "Now what, are you calling to tell me that you're going to give me a seat belt violation, even thought I always wear mine?" I was wrong.
He went on to say, "Well Ben, after I pulled you over yesturday, I went back 151(the 4-lane highway), and there is no sign posted. Whether it was taken down, blown down, or not even put up at all, I don't know. So out of fairness, I'm going to dismiss this ticket."

Yup, Saturday was a good day.

As I stated in my last journal, I got into an accident a little over 1 month ago. Yesterday, I finally got some sort of conclusion to that. My insurance company got the other lady's insurance company to take responsibility for the accident, I mean hey, if their insured driver wasn't drunk, none of this would have happened. So they took responsibility, and I got a check in the mail yesterday for $2500 and change. A little disapointing if you ask me because the estimates I got were for $4400.

      Luke 2:1-20

And it came to pass in those days that a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This census first took place while Quirinius was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. So it was, that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.â€Â
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying:
“ Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!â€Â

So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, “Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.†And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely[d] known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart. Then the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told them.
