Yeah. AIT may not be as awesome as basic but I'm starting to get the swing of it.,
I'm not really allowed to talk about what I do....I don't know why because most of it is commercial owned anyways...but whatever. I just think it's cool I've got a security clearance....at 17....eat that stupid boy bands.

    • The end of my journey.

      Churchfriend

Well, I've spent my time in Georgia, and now it's time to go back into the real world. And then into the Subreal world of the Military where on top of rules yet lie more rules.

      Goodbye sweet summer smell
Into the world of the Vengful yell
      Goodbye school friends
This is where our journey ends
      I must take my path
      Turn myself unto higher wrath
      I must grow anew
Giving my world a new view
      We've had our fun
      My journey has just begun.

      Dirt Road Anthem

      How ya'll doing?
yeah My name is Colt ford
I got my boy Brantley Gilbert in here with me.
We just some kuntry boys from GA.
We gone do a lil somethin bout them dirt roads
      that we come from
Imma rap a lil bit, you feel like singin'?
      yeah brotha. Lets go

      brantley gilbert--

yeah im chillin on the back road.
Laid back rollin to some George Jones
      Smoke blowin out the window
An ice cold beer sittin in the console.
Memory Lane up in the headlights.
its got me reminiscing on the good times
said I'm turnin' off the real life drive and that's right
hittin easy street on mud tires

      colt ford--

back in the day Potts' farm was the place to go
load the truck up hit the dirt road
Jump the barbwire, spread the word
light the bon fire , then call the girls
king in the can, and the Marlboro man
jack and gin were a few good men
we learned how to kiss and cuss and fight too
better watch out for the boys in blue
and all this small town he said she said
it aint as funny how rumors spread
like i know somethin ya'll dont know
man this shit is gettin old
      From 6lyrics.com
man mind your buisness watch your mouth
before i have to knock your loud ass out
no time for talkin ya'll aint listenin
them old dirt road is what ya'll missing

      brantley gilbert--

you know im chillin on the back roads
laid back rollin to some George Jones
      smokin blowin out the window
an ice cold beer sittin in the console
Memory lane up in the headlights
its got me reminiscing on the good times
said I'm turnin' off the real life drive and that's right
hittin easy street on mud tires

      colt ford--

i sit back and think about them good ole days
the way we were raised and out southern ways
we like corn bread and biscuits
and if its broke round here we fix it
see i can take ya'll where you need to go
down to my hood or back in them woods
we do it different round here thats right
but we sho do it good and we do it all night
so if you really wanna know how it feels
to get off the road and truck with four wheels
jump on in tell ya friends
that well be raisin hell where the black top ends

      brantley gilbert--

yeah im chillin on them backroads
layin back bobbin to some george jones
      smoke blowin out the window
an ice cold beer sittin in the console

I'm having a pretty fun time in Georgia.
      I went and seen WALL-E yesterday/last night

Ya, I didn't mean to say you hadnt earned the, I just mean like getting a ribbon everytime you do a color guard and stuff like that.
But ya, we can barely make state either. I don't mean medals from nationals, i mean national medals. Like from orgaizations. Like the Vetrans fo Foreign Wars Medal and the Sons of the American Revolution Medal etc etc.

    • thekingbeav

Yaya. But we discussed that. Yjur battalion hands our ribbons and we don't get our ribbons for color guard and stuff until the end of the year. And only a couple of those are battalion medals. Most of them are national medals, so you have just as much chance of getting them as anyone else in the country. The ones that arent national are mostly out of battalion. Wyoming likes to hand out medals. Only 5-6 of those are actually from our battalion...

I said 99%... There's definitely that good 1%. I'm a cargo specialist for the Army. It's fun but we don't do too much work stateside. Our bread and butter is workin our asses off overseas and it's a BLAST! Any military service is the best and worst job... I mean... All you gotta do is show up wearin the right shit at the right time but on the other hand, you gotta be able to stand being gone and dealing with the inevitable bullshit you WILL face. But it's definitely a good experience if nothing else.

I will now bring new meaning to the word alone
Endless nights of dreaming of life
And the days we should have spent here
Glass shatters and comes to a halt
I thought we'd be there by now
I thought it would be so much quicker than this
Pain has never been so brilliant
I made sure you were buckled in
Now you can walk hand in hand with him

Once on a yellow piece of paper with green lines
      he wrote a poem
      And he called it Chops
because that was the name of his dog
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
      and a gold star
And his mother hung it on the kitchen door
and read it to his aunts
That was the year Father Tracy
took all the kids to the zoo
And he let them sing on the bus
And his little sister was born
with tiny toenails and no hair
And his mother and father kissed a lot
And the girl around the corner sent him a
Valentine signed with a row of X's
and he had to ask his father what the X's meant
And his father always tucked him in bed at night
And was always there to do it
Once on a piece of white paper with blue lines
      he wrote a poem
      And he called it Autumn
because that was the name of the season
And that's what it was all about
And his teacher gave him an A
and asked him to write more clearly
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
      because of its new paint
      And the kids told him
      that Father Tracy smoked cigars
And left butts on the pews
And sometimes they would burn holes
That was the year his sister got glasses
with thick lenses and black frames
And the girl around the corner laughed
when he asked her to go see Santa Claus
And the kids told him why
his mother and father kissed a lot
And his father never tucked him in bed at night
      And his father got mad
when he cried for him to do it.
Once on a paper torn from his notebook
      he wrote a poem
And he called it Innocence: A Question
because that was the question about his girl
And that's what it was all about
And his professor gave him an A
      and a strange steady look
And his mother never hung it on the kitchen door
      because he never showed her
That was the year that Father Tracy died
And he forgot how the end
      of the Apostle's Creed went
      And he caught his sister
making out on the back porch
And his mother and father never kissed
      or even talked
And the girl around the corner
      wore too much makeup
That made him cough when he kissed her
      but he kissed her anyway
because that was the thing to do
And at three a.m. he tucked himself into bed
      his father snoring soundly
That's why on the back of a brown paper bag
      he tried another poem
And he called it Absolutely Nothing
Because that's what it was really all about
And he gave himself an A
and a slash on each damned wrist
And he hung it on the bathroom door
because this time he didn't think
      he could reach the kitchen.

A few months ago, you made a comment on my picture of LCPL Cody Warren. I never got around to it, but I want you to thank you for that. Being a Marine as you are, you have my utmost respect and admiration because I know you've got more balls than most people that would ever walk on the hallowed ground that is the United States of America.

I wasn't referring at all to the sexual issues, and I don't even think we need to go there... You make your own choices, and you are reminding me all too much of a puppy dog following his master until his master leaves him at the side of the highway and drives away. You don't care much for my opinions anymore, I've known that for a while but at least try to use a little discretion and wisdom in your daily life... You make your own choices, but when it comes down to it... there are concequences to every choice, I just hope you don't have to find that out the hard way

Not really. Are you familar with the explorer program? It's a program sponsored byt the boy scouts (just sponsored, it has nothing to do with it though) and there are three explorer programs that I know of. One for police, one for fire, and one for paramedics. Police is arguably the most popular however there are a significant number of fire ones too. Unfortunatly nothing local to me in terms of fire smiley4.gif . The explorer program is basic training and education if you will. You learn all the daily tasks of a police officer and then once you are up to snuff on your knowlege you can participate in evernts where your department asks you to help out, such as patroling concerts or rodeos or or or etc etc. You may also go on ride alongs with officers, and act as kind of a shadow. Your job is to learn and see what they do. Sometimes officers will have you use the radio, or even arrest subjects! It's a lot of fun, and its designed so that if you have interest in law enforcment then you can get first hand knowlege for it and see if its really what you want to do. To see if any of your local departments (city, sheriff, or state patrol) has such a program just surf around the departments web site. You should find it. If not just email um and ask if they have an explorer program. If you want more information ask. I can either answer or link you up.
