I had an extremely random thought when I saw a group of children dress up a snowman today.

Did cosplayers exist in the past?

These dangerous thoughts led me to picture what people could possible cosplay back say 50 years? 500 years? 5000 years? Did people in that time actually have something closely resembling cartoon characters?

"Well met Brutus, is one attending Londinium-con? I shall be attending this year as my Grandfather five generations ago. I do believe I am the pioneer of creativity!"

The first ever cosplayer must've been a pretty interesting fellow.

This also gives me the terrifying thought of many many Robin Hoods and Maid Marians hiring out the local theatre for the night. Each costume more misfitting and out of place than the last.

I'm kinda glad the kids decided at that point in time to break me from these thoughts. By the form of compressed snow hitting my face. Damn punks.

Hello! This is the first entry of a (hopefully!) ongoing journal. I decided to make an account and join in the boards after finding the community to look pretty fun! (It was either that or I was up at god knows what hour in the morning thinking of something spontanious to do.)

If you come across this by sheer chance and are still reading this far, good for you! Drop me a message or something, I'm always up on hearing people's walks on life.

I've heard a ton of water cooling horror stories and infact, have bore witness to one. If it does, for whatever reason, decide to pee all over the place, make sure you rediculously overpriced silicon is protected (In other words, just get non conductive, UV sensitive cooling - if you see a pile of green not in a green tube, find the leak and fix it before the non-conductivity is rendered useless.) If you know how to build them, you can avoid most of the potential hazards they can create. I've had this cooling system for about 2 1/2 years. It's leaked, but I've caught them in time and fixed them - just gotta make sure you keep an eye on the system (just like you would occassionally blow the dust off a H/S fan combo!)

BIG time HoMM fan smiley1.gif I've played 'em all, from the first (and some of the Might and Magic titles) to the newly released V and I can't wait for the expansion, Hammers of Fate. I'm a sucker for overbearing, loud music. I can't stand the fact that the AI (on anything other than easy) stockpiles units until you end up fighting unheard of amounts because you decided to take your time and explore (gazounds of Peasents... WTF?!)

Man, Freelancer... Just the word is enough to cure cancer. I followed the developement of that game from the days when Chris Roberts was still with Digital Anvil up to Microsoft's takeover and I had that sucker pre-ordered!

Gotta love mining gold in Britionia and mowing down Mollys with your kick ass Corsair heavy fighter (I can't think of the damn name...) It's like you're Mr. Miyagi and they're the fly.

There was a certain something about the Baldur's Gate series (maybe it was the music?) that stood it apart from Neverwinter Nights. NwN seemed less atmospheric and less epic... or I probably just miss Minsc and Boo <shrug>. There weren't many characters to get interested in (considering all you got was a single lousy henchman), save for Aribeth's subtle pixelated curves smiley0.gif . The last expansion's campaign, Hordes of the Underdark, was leagues ahead of the original campaign.

I don't bother writing down favorites, there's too many of them - I just write down what I have installed and what I'm currently playing. It's much quicker and some of the old favorites get listed occasionally. (Privateer!)

You have great taste in video games - I can't believe there is another soul out there who's played Future Cop: LAPD smiley1.gif

All those great Bioware/Black Isle titles and no Neverwinter Nights?

      PS: CROWD CONTROL SITUATION!

I have read quite a few rules on the site. Most of them are common sense and courtesy really. Thanks for giving me a heads up on it.

I will try refrain from random proclamations of my love for generic hosue hold items if I can!
