So it's after my Saturday morning league bowling (in which I scored my first turkey, and played the second and third best games I've ever played), and as usual, I'm looking around for some good Chicago CDs to expand my collection (I have I, II, III, V, VI, VII, VIII, XII, and XX). Primarily, I'm looking for the fourth album, Live at Carnegie Hall. Well, I stop into a Harvest Music. I check the Chicago CD section, and it was pathetic. But, I notice that they have a vast selection of old LPs. In case you don't know, LPs, records, or vinyl, are those big black discs that your parents probably used to have.

Well, I am shocked to find a MASSIVE collection of old, CBS releases of Chicago LPs! A very large collection: I, III, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII and XVII. So, I left the store with an original Columbia Records release of Chicago V on vinyl. Great condition, considering it's about 35 years old. The cover of course had some wear and tear, and the edges were split in some places, but that's nothing Scotch tape won't fix (and to all you "collectors" out there, I don't buy these to fully appreciate their value, I don't keep things in the packaging, I enjoy it for what it is). The record itself is in amazing condition. No major scuffs or scratches on it at all. And it came with all the original inserts: Individual band member portraits, and a group portrait poster.

So overall, yeah, I'd say it was a good day.

    • All Work And No Play Makes Me Stressed!

      DUR4ND47

My life has just entered Uberbusyville. The next two weeks or so will be work, work, work, and more work.

Today I had to turn in a slip to a portable classroom regarding my textbook for Medical Terminology next year. Later tonight are the Golden Onions. They're like the Oscars, but they're better. It's the awards ceremony for my high school's drama department. Only the cool kids get to go. So I've got that. Not to mention I need to pick up graph paper for my math class, since I'm out, and I need to get my choir uniform ready for the concert on Tuesday.

While in the meantime, I have to work on memorizing a monologue for my theater class, do research and studying for a Forrest Gump-esque social studies project worth a massive portion of my grade, while in the meantime bouncing back and forth between my dad's house and my mom's house. And now I'm dealing with god awful allergies that get worse every day.

Next week, I have to squeeze in time to do the final casting auditions for the musical, and audition for the fall play next year, I see my shrink on Tuesday, and then an hour later, I have to perform at our choir concert, so I need to make sure I have all six songs memorized completely for that.

And not to mention I have everyday school work, multiplied threefold, as it's the final few weeks, and I have to get in any missing work, and make sure my grades stay at a good level, while all at the same time study and prepare for finals week, which begins in nine days.

To quote the immortal Perry Cox, "But when will I have time to kill myself?"

    • What A Way To End The Week!

Let me give you a little summary of what I've been up to this week.

Monday: I did my singing audition for the upcoming musical at school next year. I thought it went fairly well, however I did screw up a little on one of the audition pieces. I missed one note, and I got a little scrambled on two bars of eighth notes, but I recovered nicely.

Wednesday: First callbacks. I'm not on the list. Was I upset? A little, but I didn't show it, I was stoic.

Thursday: Final callbacks. Still not on the list. I figured it was over at that point. The main emotion I felt was confusion, not anger or disappointment, or sadness. I was confused because after my audition, I got compliments from both the choir director and the drama director that I did a very nice job on my audition, and not just "Hey, you did a good job", the told me exactly what they liked about it and were specific. And seeing as that I got compliments from the people running the show, I figured I would be in.

Friday: The final cast list is put up. It was scheduled to be up in the morning, but it was delayed, then it was scheduled for second period, but was delayed until after school. I was nervous, but as I am, stoic. I go up to to the company cast list to see my name on the list! I was surprised, seeing as that I wasn't in the callbacks. Well, let me tell you a little something about callbacks.

The callback list is the "maybe" list. Those are the people who auditioned, did a good job, and the director wants to see more of. If you aren't on the callback list, that means one of two things:

      A. They decided that they didn't want you in, and you're out.
      B. They decided that they want you in, without doing callbacks, they saw exactly what they wanted at the audition.

Well, I guess I know which one it was for me. ; )

Although it happened six days ago, I finally got my hands on an Xbox 360 for my birthday! I rented Gears of War, and only managed to play it one time. I got bored of it, actually. I don't think it's as great as it's hyped up to be. Certainly not the next Halo.

But, that aside, I want to mention the picture and sound quality. Upon playing Halo 2, I noticed an IMMEDIATE difference, very substantial, as well. It wasn't just "Oh yeah, it looks a little bit better", it was an immense difference.

      So I can safely say, I <3 Xbox 360!

Not sure whether i can agree or not, seeing as I dont listen to Chicago much, but something amazing about how Jimi played was how much passion he put into it, I dont think I've ever heard or seen anyone with that much of a passion for playing

Ooh boy, that's a tough call. I've always been fond of the Starbridge, particularly Modern and Rebel forms. So they're probably my favorites, but there are others. The Thunderforge is fantastic when you give a few agility upgrades. And the Unrelenting is pretty much flying badass.

I know Vol. 11 came out but didn't get it yet

I've seen it at Best Buy. I haven't been keeping up much since volume seven. They cost a fortune. Especially volume ten. There was some screwy thing about copyright infringement or something with volume ten, so only so many were shipped. Due to the shortage of copies, they're VERY expensive.

No kidding. I've got a huge collection. I've got:

      Volume 2
      Volume 3
      Volume 4 (my favorite)
      Volume 5
      Volume 6
      Volume 7
      The Essentials
      Manos: Hands of Fate
      Mitchell
      Red Zone Cuba
      Season 2
      Season 4
      Season 7

I got the season sets off of eBay. I don't know if you know about this, but years ago, you could find complete seasons of MST on eBay very easily (minus the Rhino releases). You can't anymore. Maybe it was outlawed or something. I hope not. I still want to get my hands on a Crow replica one of these days. There's a website of a bot builder who sells completed replicas of Cambot, Gypsy, Servo and Crow. Unfortunately, Crow is $400.

I found a website that has just about every single detail of information on MST3K.[link=http://www.mst3ktemple.com/directory.html]MST3K Temple[/url].
