I shot 56 on the front nine at a course in Cave Creek today - which is horrible for almost anyone but me. Oh, and that score included one hole where i made par (holy crap!) and also proved that i am able to retain the same ball for 7 holes straight. ... because i was able to keep finding it.

Oh, and Steve, I had a CHICKEN sandwich in case you were wondering, because this is definitely one of those "and this is what i did today as if anyone really cared" posts. ;-)

I've officially decided to become a righty. That's right... one of those insolent fuckwads that rules the world by majority - brute strength over brains. Fuckers.

Here's my dilemma: In college, I landed forcefully enough on my right hand (because i valued it so little ... fuckers) that i snapped my scaphoid bone in half. At the time, my friends were all convinced it was a sprain. When i went to see my doctor, he didn't bother with an xray, just said "Yeah, it's just a sprain."

A few months (almost six) later, when i still had a popping sound and intermittent pain coming from my accursed right hand, I got a second opinion. Said opinion was from an orthopedic surgeon who told me that after six months of being ignored, the respective parts of the BREAK in my hand had rubbed against each other so much (possibly because i was rowing CREW the whole time!) that they were flat, and unlikely to ever set without serious help.

Help meant a pin. A pin, and marrow from my radial.

I healed quickly enough, but the problem was simply this: I'm a Lefty. I despise everything right-handed for their one-size-fits-all(right hands) approach to almost everything available on the consumer market from scissors to plumbing.

Anyways - the point is that because i never use my right hand, it has never gotten its strength back, and it has most definitely never regained its flexibility.

I think that the only reasonable conclusion i can draw is that if i become one of you right-handed-world-dominating-fucktard types, i can finally heal my hand and keep it from being easily re-injured.

      Momma, i'm comin home.

PS: The editors of this journal would like to apologize for the negative references to those who are "left-hand-aptitudinally-challenged." The writers of the piece have been sacked.

PPS: The censors of this journal would like to apologize for the comments of the editors. They are simply left-handed and don't know better. They have, of course, been sacked.

PPPS: The CEO of this journal would like to comment that anyone who opposes his (aka the writer's) point of view has been put in a sac and beaten with a large plaster mock-up of a left hand. Due to heavy growth in the random beatings sector, we hope to have a large, logistically-sound network of right-hander beating centers around the globe (within 10 minutes of every home!!) by the year 2015, wherein the CEO will surely be exempt from beatings as he will have returned to his native state of bliss. (aka left-handedness. ... yes it's a word)

I swear, i see more people with "Browncoat" as their tag lately than "rocks", "kicksass", "pwnsyou", or "isyomassa" combined!

For those not in the know (ask Dr. Know! There's nothing he doesn't!) browncoats are the avid, sometimes rabid supporters of the show Firefly which was prematurely canceled and later (a la browncoat rebellion) signed into a major motion picture due to be released on the 30th of this month.

I will now tell you something very important:

Go see it or I will eat your children's souls.

Just a suggestion though - you know, totally up to you and all... just a ... you know ... "suggestion."

For those who ARE in the know, (or like to pretend to be) I got to meet some of the cast, and they rock. Especially Ron Glass. Worship him. ... again, just a suggestion... it's not like i'd tear off your fingers and shove them individually up through your nostrils if you don't... ... ...

Wow. I guess i'm feeling aggressive today.

Seriously though, check it out on the web and mark the date on your calendar. I would also "suggest" watching the trailer - if only for the best line ever:

"This is going to get pretty interesting..."
      "Define 'interesting'."
"Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?"
      "Ah."

      Yay.

I'm trying to get into this whole "Reading my friend's journals and responding" thing, but I'm slow and difficult to change, so bare with me.

In other news: (to quote Steve-O)

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is pretty damn fun. I never watched the movie, but the game has an interesting enough storyline that I'm guessing Hollywood never touched it. The gameplay's pretty amusing, though I think they REALLY could have made things that you smash look more realistic and less generic. I don't care if it looks like a real city - i care if it breaks like one. Otherwise a very fun game.

I finally broke down and watched Chicago, and it sucked. That's really all there is to say there. It wasn't the actors, it was the story - if anything, i was really impressed with the performances in the movie, especially the vocal performances. One to note for sure is the guy that plays Renee Zellweger's husband singing "Mr. Cellophane." That man has an incredible voice, and i've been impressed with his acting time and time again. If you plan on watching it though, don't bother with the whole movie - watch the Cellblock Tango, the scene in the courtroom about the diary, and Mr. Cellophane... otherwise you might get caught up in the overly-simple (and pretty ridiculous) storyline.

I also saw Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I don't know if i'm impressed yet ... like a good potato salad, i think i need to let this one sit for a while to figure out if i liked it or not. It was DEFINITELY an experience - and i think it was a good one, but i tend to gravitate toward funky films which may not be everyone else's favorite... regardless, be prepared for a movie that not only looks (at times) like a documentary, but seems to go on and on like one. Biggest difference though is that this "mockumentary" style film seriously leaves you pondering your grasp on its main points and thoughts after all is said and done. ... And that's a lot better than anything on the Discovery Channel.

Reporting live for CNN, (Cynical Nerd Network) this is The Reverend C-Jazz saying: "Fuck Off, I like me."
