Yo. Yo. Yo.
RTX2018 is in the history books! This was my fifth rtx and honest, I took it super chill this year.
I went to all of three panels, gave up my signing, walked the con floor a bit and just spent time with my friends. It was real nice.
One thing that always gets me about RTX is the community. Just a bunch of.....nerds all getting together over a common interest and doing their best to be polite and nice to each other. It really makes me want to get super involved again but this website is just....not great. At all. Which is truly a shame.
I remember five years ago (which holy hell, really?????) when I started out on this site. I created a forum post called "If you're new and want to make friends" and it blew up. I was so involved in the community, my group The Latecomers had thousands of members and we talked in video chat, in roosterspeak, had game nights and podcasts and all this stuff.. I could go on this site and throw a stone and hit a bunch of people to talk to all on here.
Now I can't even check my notifications without getting an error message, the forums won't load for me and when they do it's stupidly hard to find stuff.
It just makes me sad.
I'm still hoping for this overhaul. I'm hoping it comes sooner rather than later.
But if you know of any discords/facebooks/twitters of community members and it's open like this, let me know!
I would love to become more involved again!
