After my last post i said i was going to john moors uni in Liverpool on a residential trip, so i feel this is the best place to start this catch up....
Side note ive been distracted watching the latest minecraft lets play, ill finish this later.... hopefully!
During my visit to Liverpool, i attended a number of sample classes to show what it would be like to attend university, as well as this while we were there the uni's open day was on which allowed us to explore the facilities, i was particularly interested in their computer suites as i plan to do programming at uni.
We also did a number of activities that allowed us to become familiar with the city, i had a great time and made some good friends who i will hopefully see again if i go to the uni next year... Heres hoping smiley0.gif

    • I Finished my Work experience :)

So last week i was doing my work placement in the IT department of Seagate ( those peoples that make hard drives) in my town. It was an interesting experience as i was able to find out what it was like to work in an it department, it also opened up my eyes to the numerous different roles within IT that i never knew existed.
Although i was made to do the placement to be allowed back to school next year, i found the whole thing very beneficial and interesting, i was able to finally find out how to build a PC ( I knew how to kinda do it but i was too nervous to pull apart my PC to try it in case i broke something), and i also gained a qualification that i never expected to have in my life, it was the certification that i can work in a clean-room.
Along with the experience i gained, i also meet some great people during the week, both people who were also on work experience with me and employees of the business. Including one guy, Thomas who my It teacher taught in her first year of teaching when he was in upper sixth, around 20 years ago, another guy it was great to work with was this guy Ciaran, he guide me and the others though different during our placement things as well as being just a cool guy.
At the end of the week we had to give a presentation to our work experience organizer, Lisa and one of the IT managers, about the different things we learned during our time their, at first i was nervous about it, but when it came to do it i was pretty comfortable doing it. Before we left we were given one last thing on top of the free breakfast and lunch we got everyday, a goody bag (for lack of better words), inside it was seagate branded pens and pencils as well as a rubber and sharper, and a really big gift, a 1TB hard drive smiley0.gif which is pretty cool.
So i'm off to Liverpool for a residential john moors university next Tuesday, i'm going over to experience the uni and the city, I'm really looking forward to that smiley13.gif .

This week i am undertaking some work experience in a seagate factory. I'm going to be working with the It department, i hope to learn some useful skills that will help me in the future to both find a part time job in the short term and a permanent job in it in the long run.

    • Comic con Belfast Part:2

When i first walked into the kings hall, i was surprised by the number of people there that were cos-playing, which made me feel a bit left out, however i was representing the rooster teeth community by wearing my 'oxygen is a big deal' t-shirt.
Throughout the day i saw a number of different people from the community, including one of the exhibitionists, this showed me that the community in Ireland is bigger than i expected.
My first hour of the day was spent trying to control my friend macky who was cos-playing as wolverine, he got over whelmed by the scale of things and ran off to see everything, this spawned one of the funniest things we did at the convention which was to ask strangers 'have you seen an Asian wolverine smiley10.gif ' peoples reactions to the question were hilarious.
The second hour however was a huge contrast to the first, i had to go to the atm and was forced to que for the only one for an hour and 20 mins, during my time queuing i got talking to some great people in the line.
For the rest of the day to about 2 i went around the different things the convention had to offer, i then went to a Q&A session with James cosmo.
After the Q&A we decided to leave as many of us were feeling the affects of lack of food and the early start smiley4.gif , on the bus home i managed to get a picture of one of my friends snuggling up to a mudkip cuddly toy.
      looking back at the photo,

Yesterday i went to comic con in Belfast with some friends. My day started with a 5am start so that i could catch the bus from Derry to Belfast, to be there in time for the opening. There were six of us going, myself and two others were wise enough to get priority entry tickets that let us in at 9,while the others had to wait till 11 to get in.
Before the event i was skeptical about how good it would be considering it was the first year, i didn't have high expectations but as soon as i got in i was proven wrong, it was bigger than i expected (that's what she said smiley0.gif ), and a lot more people were attending than i expected as well.

So this is my first ever journal on Rooster teeth. smiley0.gif
I'm posting it from school, because i'm bored of doing work. At the minute i'm preparing for study leave, i've got one last exam then i'm free from school for the summer.
I've got some cool stuff coming up this summer, but ill talk about that in the future if i ever remeber to post another journal.
i'll probably end up remembering about this in a few months;.
      for now good bye smiley13.gif
