To begin, facetiousness should be the only thing conveyed by that title. Haha.

I am shocked - shocked, I say! - to have been granted the prestigious title of featured user. I'll admit, I've been dormant semi-unintentionally, wondering as to the exact factors that affect that award. And it came as a complete surprise to get a personal comment at all, let alone such a revelatory one. Shout out to Dudemoo for being the one to point it out! And happy belated birthday, man. Hope it was awesome!

I first came across RoosterTeeth as a gawky high school teenager, and immediately fell in love with Burnie Burns- er, his writing, I mean. Clever, geeky, self-referential, and absurdly humorous, RvB has been a constant source of joy and inspiration. Since then, both RT and I have managed to grow a little. One is a maniacally successful juggernaut of video entertainment, and the other, well, has a farm bird and dentures as its mascot. And if I'm being completely honest, which I usually am, I'm actually using both to describe the company I've grown to admire and respect most in today's digital world.

RT, AH, and FH have become my home. And even though I'm not nearly as active on the community site as I should be, I'm humbled and privileged to share this passion, this appreciation, this love, with all of you. And to call you family. Estranged, distant third-cousins whom I may have briefly accidentally bumped into at RTX without making eye-contact, perhaps, some of you, but family, nonetheless. For some things bind tighter than blood. And RoosterTeeth is clearly one of those things.

So, as Featured User, my commitment in the coming months is to make an effort to get to know those really weird third-cousins with the eye-twitch and the upside-down wart that kind of looks like a battle scar mated with a Gungan energy shield. And to let you get to know me.

Thanks so much for being awesome people. And I look very much, hopefully very shortly, forward to making your acquaintance.

With Deepest Generic Affection (because it's cheaper than the
name brand but has the exact same proportionate ingredients):

It's been years and years since the last time I did a proper journal entry. Maybe it's time.

RTX was fantastic. At some point, I'll post my thoughts regarding that, but for now, #Awesomeness will have to suffice as a descriptor. Even getting sick and having work try to convince me to come in (That was a fun conversation- "Can you come in today?" "I'm kind of a little too far to make it anytime soon.") didn't even begin to dampen the amazing weekend. And I left my jacket semi-intentionally, as a souvenir, at the Alamo. It seemed fitting (pun intended).

As Destiny quickly approaches, I grow increasingly anxious. I fully plan on immersing and submerging myself fully into it whenever I get the opportunity, which is likely to have the unintentional side effect of cementing my reputation with my roommates as a full-fledged gamer. At this point, I don't mind that reputation. I'll do anything to get a good story- except go into journalism, anyhow.

Speaking of, it seems pretty definite that at least one of my roommates is moving into less expensive pastures. So I'm now on the hunt for another, which is always at least a little stressful. Twenty-five days should be plenty, though, right? I'm not too worried yet.

And I can't think of anything else to mention except - as a reminder and/or exhortation to myself - that one of these days, I am going to play #SWTOR again. One of these days.

      Current Events:
Reading: The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
(who also, by the way, wrote a couple of INFINITY BLADE books I highly recommend)
Playing: Diablo III - Reaper of Souls on the Xbox One
Listening: RT's back-catalog of podcasts, as always. And Rains of Castamere.
Writing: Potentia Cognitio, a novel, and The Adventures of Kat and Kalico - a comic.
Learning: Unity Engine, and more Spanish.

So, I figured I'd post a little about me, as I'm likely to meet a ton of you at RTX. Literally. 2000 lbs' worth. At least. (And no, that's not a fat joke.)

      Most importantly:
      XBL - DiJaDi
      Steam - DiJaDi
      Main SWTOR Account - Forbez

My name's David. And my screenname is a tricky phonetic spelling of my initials: D. J. D.

I know how incredibly boring that is, but at least it's unlikely to be stolen from me like some of my other IGNs; "Spartan," "Overkill," and "Gabriel" (after the movie of the same name), just to name a few. It's kinda ironic that my IGNs have been so droll, as I actually do a decent amount of creative writing, and am known to be somewhat insane due to the amount of free realm I give my mind.

Originally bred in San Diego, I now live in the City of Chicago. Yes, the actual City. North side, first ward. And no, I haven't died from a mugging, a shooting, or a freezing just yet, though this past winter as definitely been the closest for all three!

I first discovered RoosterTeeth back in 07, and promptly have followed them through every foray since, with one exception; the actual, physical meeting of them. At first, finances were an issue, so I moved out on my own and worked more. And then getting off work was a problem. So I'm pretty stoked to get the opportunity to rub elbows with them at RTX2014, and can't wait for July to get here already!

I do game a bit, though "a bit" varies in definition depending on which of my friends you ask. My gamertag on XBL is DiJaDi (which goes back to the whole "unoriginal" spiel, I know), and all of my usernames on every IM client happen to be the same, with the exception of IRC and some of the smaller ones: davidjohndwyer. Steam is one of those exceptions, now that I think about it; my username on there is prayeriedawg. But I don't game a whole lot on Steam. Regardless of the venue, feel free to hit me up any time, and I'll get back to you asaic.

      QuickFaves:
Favorite Retro Videogame(s): Donkey Kong Country
      Favorite Modern Videogame(s): Halo
Favorite Book(s) [Series]: The Dresden Files
Favorite Movie(s): Man on Fire, Wall-E
Favorite TV Show(s): Firefly, Lost, Heroes

Looking forward to meeting all you fellow RTX-goers; and to the rest, I hope to make your acquaintance as well!

After procrastinating for far too long, I finally opted to go through and organize my 'Pictures' and 'Downloads' folders. And in spite of the chaos that ensued, I found a surprisingly abundant collection of fond memories embedded within them. I realize that's incredibly connotative and entirely based on personal perspective, but I posted a few of the more favorable ones in my Images gallery, so now I have a small, condensed online repository, offering just a glimpse of the last five years inside my head... which is actually kinda cool.

No worries! Unfortunately, my literary resume is not nearly as extensive as yours. I always love book recommendations! :D

Carry on, good sir! Comment whenever you would like to!

Well thank you for the congratulations! Haha. I;m a huge fan of Orson Scott Card and Michael Crichton. I love the bounty hunter trilogy. I actually never finished the Han Solo Trilogy I don't think. I'm also a Shadows of the Empire fan. I've read Ender's Game three times. It's like visiting old friends haha. Have you read the comics? They're pretty good. My best friend is a huge fan of The Wheel of time series but I haven't read any of them.

      Knights of the Old Republic.

I'm pretty much bored enough to pick up games I've never installed and spend hours on them.

KotOR is actually pretty good, though. I'm enjoying it.
Playing through as a Sith, even broadcasting my n00bish attempt to beat it.
I'm gonna try to do Jedi next, but we'll see if I have the time.

Speaking of it, whoever came up with the broadcast function on xfire is a bonafide genius.

      Btw, nice linked vid. Lol.
