Well, I'm moving today. New city, new life. I'll be back here as soon as internet is up and running at the new place. Hmm.

Been listening to Pat Benatar a decent bit lately. New favorite song: "We Belong." Hmm.

Oh, well. I need to shower and finish packing.

So, today I accepted a job down in Beaufort. It's about an hour and a half down the coast from where I am now (Charleston). My lease is up here in about a week, which means I will probably have to stay with someone for a few days before anything becomes available. Thus far the earliest one bedroom opening I've found isn't until the 12th.

I'm pretty excited about this. The school seems pretty similar to where I was student teaching, and being only a 90-minute drive, I can still come up here to see folks fairly regularly. I'm excited about what lies ahead.

And as for the internet, they haven't shut it off, yet. They got the television, but not the internet. Weird. We'll see how much longer this lasts.

      Okay, here's what's going on:

I was told that I will be receiving an offer to work down in Beaufort. That's pretty cool; not my first choice, but a nice area nonetheless. Unless another offer is made soon that I like better, I'll be headed down there at the end of the month to relocate. Found a couple of apartments, calling tomorrow about availability. I'll let you know.

Next, speaking of tomorrow, that's when my internet is being shut off. Comcast doesn't bill right on the month, so it was either have nothing for a week and a half or pay for three weeks we won't use. Pfft. I'll make sure I head to the library on campus a couple of times a day to stay in touch, but I obviously won't be as readily accessible.

I ordered a couple of shirts in the last week and those came in Thursday and Saturday. First was a grey t-shirt with the Dunder Mifflin logo on the front, and second was a polo shirt with the same logo much smaller on the left. I will totally wear the polo to work at the high school. Things like that make me happy.

Weird problem with my RvB pages -- smileys are off. Anyone else having that problem? I thought maybe it was the RTSE, but after uninstalling that, the problem still remains. Here, I'll show you:

      journalef2.png

And they show up on other screens the same way -- regular smile is disappointed, big smile is blacked over.... It's a pain in the ass. Is this just me, or are others having this issue?

Anyway, leave me lots of comments, both here and in my images (here's lookin' at that Dunder Mifflin image!). Later.

See, it's not that I don't give out mods, just that I give out so many negative ones that it makes my overall balance skewed.

In the last week and a half or so, I've watched all four seasons of The Office (U.S. version... don't even bother with the hating comments, you foreigners). Finally finished this afternoon. Fuckin' A.

So, I heard through the grapevine (and that grapevine's name is Powerbomb and his journal) that the RTSE is now available for Firefox 3, so I downloaded it.

Gotta say, they've made some major changes. Not sure yet how I feel about it. There are things I really like (which is why I got it to begin with when I had FF2), but this new pseudo-popup thing is odd. Still, if you liked the older one, I'd recommend at least giving it a try. Download link.

One thing noticable right off the bat, though: the spoiler tag feature hasn't been put in yet, and if it has, I'm not seeing it. Spoiler tag's still there, which I like, and the integrated poll thing is cool, though really all it saves is clicking the "Add a poll" button. Whatever. Overall, though it will take some getting used to, I'm glad they finally released the thing for FF3.

    • Question For Folks

      Drums888

I asked this in one of the threads, but thought doing a journal might get more responses.

Does anyone here use Gamefly (or have used it in the past)? And if so, would you recommend it?

There are a lot of games I'd like to try out without actually buying, and rental fees at stores are completely ridiculous. The one game at a time price works out that if I get more than two games in a month, I save over going to Blockbuster or Hollywood Video or something. So, I was thinking it might be worth it.

Opinions? Input? Comments? Suggestions? Alternatives? Witty remarks?

Just watched the mid-season finale of Battlestar Galactica on the Sci-Fi channel website. Just wanted to say how awesome it is. Last stream is at three o'clock; show airs on TV tonight. I highly, highly recommend you watch it/DVR it/whatever you have to do to see this episode. Just great.

Okay, so this has been in discussion multiple times by me, and I always have the same answer. I figured I'd ask you lot, just to see how many of you are wrong. Keep in mind, it is asking about the better SONG, not the better video.

Here, man, I have a present for you. Since the top one you have was made specifically for me, I went in and changed a few things for your use.

      CapDac.jpg

If anyone else really wants one, lemme know. After experimenting with techniques while making mine, I got it down to a process that only takes a few minutes once I have a usable image.

I would love one. I like the sleeker look to these instead of the clunkier ones.

Well, I saw it and didn't care for it, but I'm not one to tell people off for liking movies and what not - Ghost Rider and Hulk are guilty pleasures of mine, so power to ya smiley8.gif

Lorne's scene was amazing, i just felt so bad for him....it was like he betrayed himself. i mean, he didnt like lindsey, but he's never killed anyone before either....

I'm really glad you liked it.

No, I didn't intend Grunty and Carolyn to be like Six and Baltar, but I totally see it now. Although, when Grunty said he felt "fleshy" I was really reminded of Zake from CAD, he' sort of Cylon like.

      I just had a thought

If all the changes Silver Surfer made with his cosmic powers reversed and went back to how it was before at the end of the movie.......does that mean Doom is an all metal body again? Guess that would cause him possibly to either be stuck or have it bond with his body........

    • grunthos2

what movie version of Doom did you like better?

First movie Doom was more like Ultimate Doom with an organic metal body while second movie got rid of that body but kept the ability to absorb and shoot out electricity plus he wears a real suit of armor. Which is better?

    • nasafreak87

See I never read the comics. But I'm more of a darker hero comic fan. Batman for example. And after watching Spiderman 3 I was expecting something else. Or maybe the movie was really good and I just resent the fact that I had to go with my roommate...

    • nasafreak87

Really? I just thought they could have done better with it. Seemed kinda aimed towards a younger audience.

Okay, so all e-wanking aside, that's really well written. I absolutely love what you've done with Data.... He's a fantastic villain (is anyone surprised by that?). I lol'ed more than once at his dialogue. Well done, man. Well done.

This is the kind of comment I really enjoy. The "brilliant" or "genius" things...I don't ever trust them. But this has a dash of realism in there. It's "well written" which makes me giddy like a school girl.

      Thanks, Drums.

Oh, and i'm going to pick up Shaun of the Dead this afternoon. Can't wait to see it all the way through.
