Let's say there's an execution by firing squad going on, and there are two targets.

Are individual soldiers given orders beforehand on which to shoot? What if they all fired on only one of the two condemned? Have a redo?

Tom and Felix got me thinking about that.

Occasionally while reading something totally fucked up, I am still amused to see what the reporters add in to articles. This is about an arrest made in relation to allegations of a student (f, 15)/teacher (m, 37) affair. Let's see if you can guess which portion of this sentence just tickles my funny bone. I'll even help you.

School officials could not be reached for comment, but Lt. Turno said the school has suspended Mr. Kessler, a teacher of the year finalist in 2006.

Incidentally, this clip comes from a story about an English teacher at my high school alma mater.

    • Heroes: End Game -- Volume III

in Forums > Heroes: End Game -- Volume III | Follow this topic

      Drums888

In the beginning was the original Heroes: End Game. After a rollercoaster ride of near losses and epic run-aways, only two men remained: Matt Parkman and Noah Bennet. It became clear that the sheer force of will these two men possessed would not allow either one to be the winner, so a truce was made. End Volume I.

Begin Volume II. The second volume of Heroes: End Game saw four months of battles engaed until only one man remained standing (or rather, floating above the crowd): Nathan Petrelli. End Volume II.

      Begin Volume III.

As the previous victors, Parkman, Bennet, and the elder Petrelli brother have been excluded from this round to await a future tournament of champions. The current roster of contestants is from Volume III of the programme.

      helixkd3.jpg

      Rules:
      1) Each character starts with 100hp. Once a day (meaning one time between the midnights, not necessarily every 24 hours), you may give one character +10 and one character –10. It's customary to highlight the two people you are altering by making the text bold.
      2) When you post, please copy and paste the list from the last post then make your changes.
      3) When you eliminate a character, you must say they have died and leave them with a zero (0). It's also really dramatic if you make the text crimson or red. The next poster removes that character from the list.

Not sure I have enough regular watchers/posters to justify it. You know, the thing Data, Chipper, etc. are doing? With the first lines of random tunes?

I'll think about it. Do you folks even enjoy them?

Watched the Speed Racer movie tonight for the first time.

      Absolutely loved it.

Great combination of the live actors and incredibly cartoonish action.

The visuals and music were incredible. And for something based on Speed Racer, I was impressed with the script. Too much of the fuckin' kid and chimp, though. They were my main complaint with the film.

      Pretty kick ass stuff.

      Racer X, FTW.

I realize it's been out for over a year now, but I've been listening to Fight With Tools by Flobots again the last couple of days.

Fucking good album. And I realize citing the main single of an album is cliche, but damn, I really love "Handlebars." Great analysis of the duality of human potential. We can choose to embrace creativity and try to make the world a better place ("see your face on the telephone") or we can create devices to exterminate entire populations ("guide a missile with a satellite").

So, once all is said and done, I guess there's only one question: Which side of human potential will win out? Will we as a society and species dedicate our potential to fixing the broken world before we wipe ourselves out?

Right now I'd say it seems unlikely. It seems mankind has an endless imagination when it comes to discovering new means of destruction, but curing society's ills is seen as unimportant or even unnecessary. To put it in geek terms, we're choose The Terminator as opposed to Star Trek.

Hmm. That's kind of a bummer.

fair enough... i dont like voting, because the polititions and their hench men only pay attention to you during this time of voting... also, when i have to vote, i have to run past all these people trying to perswaid me to vote for their leader and all that jazz... cant i make up my own mind???

but if voting was compulsuary in america several years ago... i wonder if bush would of got elected??? (just a random though)

    • chris_harry

With any due respect, what the fuck are you talking about?

well... i was assuming that you can vote, and that american laws havent changed, and that you still have the choice to vote or not to vote...

well... in australia... you have to vote no matter what... and its painful... so... what i was saying was, "you were lucky because you have a choice to vote, or not to vote"....

In Cloverfield, there were at least three monsters that we saw through out the whole thing. One with tentacles (Took out the bridge), one with the head bladders that was in the park, and a larger version of the Park one that hit down the helicopter and took off the Statue of Liberty' s head.

Exactly! Because most of the thread during the first season would discuss the episode while it was playing, and they seem to get it an hour earlier than I do, my girlfriend and I would not go in the thread until we'd seen the episode, then we'd finally catch up on everything everyone was saying in the thread. It's not just you dude, I do the same thing. A little common sense never hurt anybody, but apparently this kid has none of that.
