      This is what 1.5 really looks like. I must say, it's even more beautiful than I had envisioned. Up until now, the Flag had been my guiding star through life, but now, 1.5 has taken over. "O brave new world that has such people in't..."

      So I just played "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" for the first time since 6th grade. I got a warrant by the second location, and totally cought the thief. I rock.

      Up until about 15 minutes ago, the last time I'd played that game was the 6th grade. You may be wondering how I remember that so exactly; well let me tell you. In the 6th grade I had a class where every now and then the teacher would put us in groups of two, give us world almanacs, and have us play that game. I kid you not. Almanacs. We were graded on it, if I recall correctly. It was a little messed up, but I admit, I remember actually enjoying it. Good times.

      In addition to that, I also downloaded The Oregon Trail for my Apple emulator. Those are the only two games in my library, mainly because those are the only two games that I recall not sucking. Maybe the original Sim City.... I wonder if I could find that. Oh, well. I also made it to Oregon with all five members of my party, which rocked. I = awesome at Elementary School level games. : )

      Normally I'm not a mod whore (like my brother, IamBehindYou, who puts a "Mod Here" under every picture he puts up), but c'mon, let's hear it for the Oregon Trail and Carmen Sandiego. Think of how great your youth was because of them (or how much shittier it would have been without them).

      I left to do some stuff this afternoon, and when I got back and checked my AIM messages, this is part of what I found:

      My Away Message: I've decided that liking The Who should be part of my screening process for women. In most of my failed relationships, the girl did not like The Who; I think that may be a sign.
      My Friend Haley: people who don't like the who aren't real people

      Moral of the story? Haley = Awesome.

      So last semester I altered the freedom speech for exams, and I think it's time to bust it out again.

      "...Yes, I've heard. He kills professors by the hundreds, and if he were here, he'd consume the final exams with fireballs from his drunken eyes and bolts of lightning from his arse. I AM William Wallace, and I see a whole army of my collegiate-men, here in defiance of tyranny. You've come to fight as educated men, and educated men you are. What will you do without education? Will you test? Aye, test and you may fail. Drop out, and you'll survive, at least a while. But dying in your in your mediocre jobs, many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our professors that they may take our grades, but they'll never take our EDUCATION!?"
      *general cheers from drunk college students*

      Ode to Nice Guys â€" by Aaron D. Edwards

      I hate being the friend.
      I hate being the one who walks her home, but doesn’t go for the goodnight kiss.
      I hate being the one who tries to offer insight to the male mind, all the while trying to hide my own feelings.
      I hate being the shoulder.
      I hate being the advisor.
      I hate being the funny one.
      I hate being the one to hear about the look her former flame gave her this afternoon.
      I hate being the confidant.

      I hate being the one that can’t hate her, no matter how much I want to.

      And just for amusement, I answered the "Superheroine" questions as close as I could not being a girl, and this is what came out:

      I finish off a cup only to add more to it.
      Twenty ounces of hope that this will be the last one,
      Hope that this will take me the distance.
      Twenty ounces hiding behind a faded Cougar
      And old volleyball schedule,
      Twenty ounces closer to unattainable freedom.
      In the background are constant reminders
      Inflicted upon myself:
      Bonnie Tyler and Alabama,
      Eclipsing the Heart of a Dixieland Delight,
      Negating the purpose of the twenty ounces.
      Every now and then I fall apart
      Rollin' down a backwoods Tennessee by-way
      .
      They haunt me,
      And yet I cannot click stop,
      So they play on as I go on
      Refilling my twenty ounces,
      Hoping that they will be the be the last ones,
      Hoping that they will take me the distance.
      Twenty ounces to ease the pain
      That is reality.

      Here's some more writing from me. A couple people seem to like it, I guess. Plus writing's a good outlet.

      Ctrl+Z - by Aaron D. Edwards

      I want to take things back
      To how they were before,
      But that doesn't seem to work much these days.
      I want to take things back,
      Unsay things I've said,
      Unfeel things I've felt,
      Unlive the life I've lived.
      I want to get back,
      But that doesn't seem to work much these days.
      So I suppose I will live with it,
      With what I've said,
      With what I've felt,
      With what I've lived.
      I will stay here
      Because that's how it seems to work these days.

      Funny how one's mood affects one's writing.

      A Week Ago:
      You â€" by Aaron D. Edwards

      I want nothing more than to say something poetic for you,
      But the words will not come.
      I want to make you know how great of a person you are,
      But the words will not come.

      You make my sad face go away;
      It leaves behind a smile that I cannot seem to shake.
      You warm my heart in a way that nothing else can;
      The tenderness of your smile radiates, permeating into my very soul.
      You make life worth living;
      Seeing you gives me the one thing that nothing else can:
      Hope.

      Compare that to Today:
      Finale â€" by Aaron D. Edwards
      The end draws neigh, yet remains unseen.
      ‘Tis a glimmer off in a far distance,
      Or perhaps a hole hiding under the ground
      Waiting to catch you unawares,
      To suck you in,
      To finish you,
      To end you.
      Yet far too often the end does not come.
      It eludes you like a gift hidden in paper
      That you cannot open until the proper moment in time.
      Though you may long for it, the end simply laughs at you,
      Watching your every move toward Heaven,
      Through the Hell
      That we call life.
      So long not for the end,
      But know that the end comes only when it is meant to,
      And no matter how much you may wish otherwise,
      That is the only time it comes.

      ~~~~~
      Yeah.... It's been that kind of a weekend.
