I am presently working on a book based on the RP elements that I have created.

Whether or not it will amount to anything is anyone's guess.

However, I will be spending less and less time in the site. I will try to check in every 3 to 4 days so should, for some weird reason, you need to contact me; that response will probably be delayed.

What follows are simply reference points to various NPC Groups that exist within the Free Trader Blues Role Playing Environment. Most of the NPC Groups that follow have existed throughout the Blues Saga and are carried over and quantified here. Some contain individual person NPCs but as they are connected to the group, a full NPC bio is not viewed as necessary.

The posts that follow do not follow the specific creation standards as regular NPCs. Each can provide as much or as little information as deemed necessary to identify a group. This thread is not locked and all players may add to it but linkage is appreciated so that others can benefit from your work.

As Halo already has sites detailing out an assortment of commercial entities that can be found in the various Halo games, those links are not provided here but can be found within the Halo Wiki and some can be found in the thread SB - Paris Station.

Should a player decide not to be a Free Trader Captain nor a member of a crew, there is the possibility that they could become a shop keeper on Paris Station and thus have duties unique to Paris Station that would not be assigned to a Free Trader Captain. Such duties could include but are not limited to a leader of the Security Brute Squad {Called in to kick buttocks when a bar fight breaks out}, Leader of a damage control party {which would involve drills, exercises and being called to actual damage events} or perhaps the leader of the shop-keepers collective {present grievances to station personnel}.

The Quarter Master Special Services, Q.M.S.S. was created by ONI as a means of both supplying the various UNSC bases, colonies and human habitations with the necessities of life as well as mail. The project's ultimate purpose was to place an ONI operative on the ground at regular intervals in various locals so as to monitor events that might be of interest to the ONI.

WO 4 D. Bunny took effective command of the Q.M.S.S. and with vast funds, built up five specialized fleets of UNSC Warships to defend, and if necessary destroy, the Alpha Omega system. Three of the five fleets were designated as trading fleets (Hudson’s Bay Fleet, Muscovy Company Fleet and the East India Company Fleet).

Two of the fleets were designated as expeditionary/punitive fleets (Dutch West India Company Fleet and Virginia Bay Company Fleet).

The fleets comprised one Flag ship per, several capital ships, several screening vessels as well as specialty ships.

The greater majority of the ships were under operative control of disembodied brains placed in specialized containers. However, a good number of humans were necessary to provide the brawn necessary to maintain and fight the ships. A good number of these individuals were former UNSC personnel who had been catastrophically injured and the missing body parts replaced with cyborg replacement components.

The Battle of Alpha Omega brought to an end the five fleets. However, remnants of those five fleets beyond the battle zone coalesced into the Lost Fleet.

What follows are the Character Sheets of Free Trader Captains and their ships.

More often than not, only the Free Trader Captain NPC or their ship will be relevant within the various SA threads. If a crew member is needed on a temporary basis, he or she will be crafted as necessary and documented.

All of the initial posts of Free Trader Captains have existed in prior RPs. A couple in AOB and the rest in WMB.

A ship at sea is its own world. To be the captain of a ship is to be the unquestioned ruler of that world and requires all of the leadership skills of a prince or minister.
      - Col. Corazon Santiago, Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri

As previously stated, the Free Traders are Captains of their own ships.

In the FTB Universe, Free Trader Captains come from three primary sources. ONI, Red or Blue Armies, or Civilian Ship Captains operating outside the rules.

While pirates and smugglers have existed since mankind found a way to float on the water; in the FTB Universe, the Free Traders were crafted by the Office of Navel Intelligence as, first, the means of monitoring the questionable and/or illegal flow of goods/services. Then, second, as an opposition force to the UNSC's Department of Commercial Shipping * D.C.S. to prevent trade from being used as a weapon by the UNSC against its member worlds. Then, third and most importantly, as a place to put either rogue or burned out ONI personnel such that they could be of later use to ONI without having them go, 'postal' while clearly a member of ONI.

Current, Former and Ex-ONI personnel serve as approximately one third of the Captains. Ex-ONI are those viewing themselves as being extremely unlikely to take suggestions from ONI while former ONI could consider themselves as being in a sort of unofficial contractor relationship with ONI.

One third of the Captains originate from either Red or Blue Armies and their related fleets. Most were originally Post Covenant-War veterans still looking for adventure of sorts among the space lanes. Due to the length of time following the War, these ships have been, in some cases, handed down to the next generation so the original allegiance to a specific color of flag is present but not ingrained through actual participation in hot combat operations. However, in most cases, a captain will retire and either sell his ship to either his second in command or some other Captain without a ship. Some Free Trader Captains are cashiered starship captains (dismissed from service) or retired officers who acquired a ship and taken up trade as a means of making a living or supplementing their pensions.

One third of the Captains are civilian Captains who have either tired of operating under the repressive rules and regulations of the D.C.S. or simply play both sides, sometimes being a legitimate D.C.S. flagged ship and other times piloting on the gray side of the ledger.

And, of course, there are the exceptions. Developed within WMB was a Roma Captain who clearly was not part of the primary groups. Therefore, if you wish to explore something unique, that option exists within the SA threads but transitioning of characters out of the SA threads into RPG threads must be pre-approved should an RP group be formed for play within the Games Forum.

The Eridanus Rebels created a secret base on Tribute, a UNSC Inner Colony world in the Epsilon Eridani System.

This base was designed to first create a new starship and then the base would be used to deploy those ships in the Insurrection.

The first phase was nearly completed, when Operation Trebuchet served to isolate the base and the inhabitants. With the exception of the core scientific crew and select engineers, the personnel left the base to join the rebels massing at a secret base in the asteroid belt to continue the fight.

The discovery of an experimental ship crashed in the vicinity of Hiatus Outpost provided the location of this base.

It is now under the control of the Free Traders.

The base is under ground with the only surface features appearing to be a simply, abandoned outpost on the edge of a frozen lake. The base has four levels. The top underground level comprises fifteen hangers. The exterior hanger door is carefully camouflaged such that it appears nothing more than a up thrust pressure ridge compromising a much larger plateau surface feature.

The interior hanger door opens up into both a connecting tunnel as well as support facilities allocated to each hanger. These support facilities are as a galley/mess area, surgical and infirmary suites, crew barracks and officer quarters/offices.

The second underground level comprises maintenance shops of various sorts as well as assorted labs and specialized rooms. The third underground level is warehouse and weapons storage, including nuclear storage. The fourth underground level is base maintenance and support areas such as power plants, water and air purification areas et cetera.

      CHARACTER SHEET

      NAME: Captain Lucius Longinus Marcellus

      SPECIES: Human

      GENDER: Male

APPEARANCE (General outline or image): See Current Avatar

AGE: Immortal; well over Two Thousand Years

      PREVIOUS AFFILIATION (ONI):

HISTORY: Born in the slums of Rome, I became a common soldier and served with the Sixth Ironclad Legion, known officially as Legio Sexta Ferrata. I fought under the command of Julius Caesar during the Gallic Wars.

Through the years, I rose in rank until I became Primus Pilus of the First File of the First Cohort. It was at that exalted rank that I served in the garrison of Jerusalem in the province of Judea. I served, for a time, under a tribune by the name of Marcellus Gallio and he served under Pontius Pilate who was the Roman prefect of Judea by decree of Tiberius Ceasar.

It was at a place called Golgotha, in the area of the old wall of Jerusalem where a condemned fanatic and two thieves were brought to be crucified. At the height of an unnatural storm and eclipse, I slew the Nazarene and by his death, became cursed with eternal life.

      PERSONAL WEAPON: Forerunner Gravity Sword.

      PSYCHIC POWER/SPECIAL ABILITY: Chi Healing

OTHER: While I was working in ONI's Section Zero, I and two other immortals came to the realization that the rising power of the UNSC's Department of Commercial Shipping * D.C.S. needed to be checked otherwise the UNSC's stranglehold of interplanetary trade would slow the advancement of technological progress.

We devised a three tiered program centered around an organization that would be known as 'Free Traders'. For a time, I was a Free Trader Captain and head of an organization known as the Ironclad Legion. During the course of decades, I surfaced and disappeared as a Free Trader Captain to fine tune the program. Following the events of Alpha-Omega, I returned to life and resumed my role as a Free Trader Captain.

For a time, I was requested to rejoin the 12th Cavalry until it became all too obvious that the 12th was going completely rogue. I have returned my role as a Free Trader Captain rather than remain with purposeless renegades.

RPG - Crafting your NPC Crew

      Every ship needs a crew.

      CHARACTER SHEET

      NAME:

      SPECIES:

      GENDER:

      POSITION WITHIN THE CREW:

      APPEARANCE (General outline or image):

      AGE:

PREVIOUS AFFILIATION (ONI / Red or Blue / Civilian / Other):

      HISTORY:

      PERSONAL WEAPON:

      OTHER:

You can be as extensive or as brief as you like. At a minimum, you have to supply the first four items, from Name to Position within the crew; everything that follows is optional.

You are allowed either one AI or one Brain in a Jar to handle non-physical tasks. In essence, an AI or a Brain in a Jar becomes the ship.

Restating what has been posted in an SB thread, AIs will NOT be allowed to jump around from armor to armor, they will NOT be allowed to create robots so that they can wander about the ship and go planet side and the will NOT be allowed to run riot over other computerized systems (AI Godding).

Advancement within a crew is at the option of the Player/Character Captain. If another Player/Character chooses to be a crew-member, they remain their current rank until they either Mutiny, desert or obtain a promotion.

A Mutiny MUST be with permission of the Captain and MUST be pre-approved. You are NOT a Klingon!

A Player/Character Crew Member may desert at his or her own discretion without either pre-knowledge or approval. However, depending on the manner of desertion, you may have a very hostile Player/Character Captain wanting to Seek, Locate and Blow your deserting buttocks away.

A Player/Character Crew Member may, if they choose, desert then elevate him/herself to the rank of Free Trader Captain.

It seems to me that there have, once again, been problems revolving around you in the RP, so I'd like to make a few things clear.

You are not an Admin. You are not a commanding officer. You are not a founder. You have no executive authority. Listen to the people who do.

The AOB Saga is not your property. The fact that you created the first Alpha Outpost Blues does not give you any claim to its spinoffs. You gave up that right when West Mountain was created.

We do not want any part of your new Free Trader RP. Leave us out of it.

I'm getting really tiered of seeing your name in every major complaint when I log on. You have been making the game less fun for everyone for quite some time, and I'm getting sick of it. Listen to the Administration, and play our game, or leave. I will not say this again.

If you are talking about what your Admins are up to, no idea.

I'm working on the basics of a Free Trader Group. The primary purpose is to write stories, not to just role play.

I'm fine tuning the preliminary posts and then will get started on the Canon posts.

Since it is going to be more focused on story writing, I don't know if there will be any interest. If there is interest, we might bring it into the Games' Forum.

When has the destruction of a base ever ended a thread outright? Consider the number of bases we went through on Undae and Tribute. Until the members of the 12th enter slipspace aboard the Ragnarok and leaves Freyja, the Sigma Outpost Blues RP will continue.

I will admit that Skysong's plan to destroy the base surprised me, but it does not refute any of the points I made last night.

    • Amazing_Cam

I expect to be in the Sigma Outpost thread for at least another month. Regardless of what happens, there still needs to be closure.

    • Amazing_Cam

No one was reading the posts because they were dull, and you made them uninviting with your mass of NPC's. There wasn't much room for anyone to actually take part in it. On the matter of Zero's life, retconing him back to life after the initial retcon would have erased the months of character development that Lucas spent. Character development that dates back to the final stages of West Mountain. And what does Pete blowing up the base on Tribute have to do with anything? And why do you keep going on about the transition to a new thread like its a fact set in stone by Jesus Christ himself? I've told you twice now that it is only a possibility.

We ran the discussions on Skype because it is easier to chat in real time, rather than on the clunkier RT. Your refusal to learn the program does not equal our shutting everyone out.

The creator of a story arc does controll what happens during that arc, yes, but that is not to say that they can completely erase the events that occur as canon. That's the point of having Admins in the first place. If every one had that sort of power, the game would be utter chaos.

Zero was originally an NPC. As the SCP arc progressed, and Indy's death was decided, Zero was intended to take up the role as Lucas' PC. Though Indy did not die, his brain was put in the jar which made him pretty much as good as. Zero still took the role of PC, and as a result, Indy took the back seat. Finch, Mega, Lucas, and I all agreed on this. Sorry that you never got the memo, but I thought it was obvious regardless.

Again, we get back to you assuming that the new thread is set in stone. We have not come to a final decision, and even if it happens, it will still take quite a bit of time for us to get there. Sigma is not over yet, and so the chakra arc is relevant. As are all other running arcs. The story needs closure before it comes to an end.

As to Mega slinging personal attacks, I wont comment. Its not my place. I will say though, while he was harsh, he did apologize.

About the new guy, leave him alone and let him play. Sigma is not over yet.

The number of players, in my opinion, is not related to the transition from game to game, but to the activity that those running the game have. I take responsibility for this, as there have been several points that I have been absent, for which I apologize. I think that a new installment would encourage new players, as it is easier to join a game from the start rather than 300 pages in. This is opinion, though, and I may be wrong. We shall see, if a new installment is what is over the horizon.

As I recall, you did have a free trader RP going. Take The High Ground, wasn't it? But of course, that isn't the point. The point is that this is the direction that the game is going. If we make a new thread, it will be aboard the Ragnarok. We'll see how it turns out.

    • Amazing_Cam

A new installment at the conclusion of this arc is one possibility that we have considered.

Those were my exact words. I said that it was a possibility that we would be making a new thread. That being said, insuring that the game continues as it is happened to be a priority. It has not yet been decided if a new installment is going to be made, and your attempted retcon obviously disrupted the current one. Not only did it kill Indy's PC, you attempted to demolish the current game's canon. I could not allow that. Saying the retcon had no relevance is absurd.

We've always had a group set aside for the admin's to discuss the game's future. Just because it wasn't ever used does not make it a new concept. The founders, admins, and commanding officers of the game are all included into a chat group on Skype where we discuss the game. Don't make it sound like an evil conspiracy, we're only running a game.

Do I need to remind you that you don't even have the authority to issue the retcon that you attempted? You tried to erase months of canon events, kill a player character, and cause general unrest in the thread. You are not an admin and you did not consult with anyone in the position before issuing the retcon. Be glad that all I did was overrule it.

    • Amazing_Cam

I don't want to leave Sigma. I think too much of its story is being left untold, but if we're leave Freyja, it's time for a new installment.

If you don't want to be a part of it, then by all means don't. No one will force you to make the transition.

    • Amazing_Cam

Mega has the authority and position to indulge in some special treats. Of course, I could be completely impartial and unbiased and enforce a zero-tolerance policy on powers. Of course, several people would be dead as a result. Spartan, you, and myself would be in that group.

Sarah is not a game beaker. She is a fail safe. Say a fiasco like what happened with Pete in the past occurs. She is an insurance policy against that particular fallout.

While yes, Mega could use his daughter's power to solve every little problem, you and I both know that he wouldn't. There's no fun in that for anyone. Just because someone can do something does not mean that the will. And hell, if it does happen to that extent, I won't think twice about nerfing her powers.

Mega and Sky are not planning any such thing as going off and making their own RP. A new installment at the conclusion of this arc is one possibility that we have considered. We being the Founders, Admins, and base commanders of the game.

What makes you think that others will not participate in the game due to Sarah's existence? She's been around since West Mountain, and the game is still going. Her
being around has yet to affect people's willingness to participate, and I doubt that it ever will.

    • Amazing_Cam

Your understanding of how I view Spartan's nanites and how they factor into my policy on powers is wrong. I never took his nanites, and never had any intentions of doing so. They're the reason he is alive. Even if I did take them from him, I'd arrange something with him that would not completely fuck his character.

But you are right, if anyone asked to make a robot with god like powers, I would reject it without second thought. However, Megafire is not just anyone. He is the Base Commander. He is allowed special liberties.

And don't say that I went off on you when you infused yourself with the Chakra powers. I only asked you not to go over the top with it. There was no hostility there, and I gave you my approval.

Mega is not breaking the game with Sara. Do not make him out to be a second Captain.

These are indeed my rules, and they are my decisions. But I must ask, when did I ever claim to be fair?

    • Amazing_Cam

ATTN: Cam; you owe Spartan an apology; a big apology.

Do I? For what, may I ask? I don't recall doing Spartan any wrong.

The sub arc involves you in being hooked up to an IV containing a solution of the Progenitor Sentient Virus that has been tuned into a Chakra that will give you: "The 'voice'

which is represented in dialog as

        >::<" ...dialog... ">::<

        the color code is magenta.

You will have the power - temporary - to be able to speak a command and have it obeyed. This is similar to the voice as used in the Dune Series.

The voice would have immediate impact when spoken directly and very limited impact when transmitted via radio or through voice amplification systems {the VOG system in the helmet} or through PA systems.

Once the experiment is concluded, you will be put through a full body MRI to kill off the sentient virus and thus end your ability to use the voice.

Though the version I came up with for Sigma out post may be much crueler, less refined, and more inhumane than the process described in your quote, it is indeed a form sensory deprivation torture.

You offer the subject only one visual, in this case a lack thereof; and you deny them any outside interaction aside from when they are brought their meals which, in this case, was striped even further by not even giving him meals. That is the bare bones of the sensory deprivation method of torture. You put the subject in this situation until his mental state breaks down.

While it was not unnecessary for me to tie him to the chair, I felt that it added another layer to the concept. In theory, restricting the subject's movement by striping them to an uncomfortable chair would speed the process along.

The over all crudeness of the example I wrote for our game was intentional. Warrant Officer Cameron Bose is without question the most sadistic and evil member of the 12th. What our prisoner went through is the result of the first thing he thought of in about twelve minutes. Was it necessary? Of course not. Could the prisoner have died? Certainly. Cam was never interested in getting information anyway. It was Finch who was wanted that. Cam was only having fun.

But none of this is really important. I know from experience that once you've made up your mind, you refuse to see another point of view. Because I wasn't methodical and precise and entirely by-the-book, I couldn't have been using an old and tested form of interrogation, and no argument that I put up will change that. Whatever. I'm not going to spend the next week arguing with you about this. Whether or not you agree that this was sensory deprivation or not, I'm ending the discussion here.

You think too hard into situations Dust. The tanks? They were never going to reach the base anyways, even if you didn't try killing it all they STILL wouldn't have made it. Are you kind of following me now? As for your Arc, you can do whatever the hell you want to do about it. Personally I don't care but it could make for filler or plot at some point. I only brought up what I did to prove try to prove a point, I am trying to be the nice guy here. However, sometimes I think you just need to sit back and let things play out, that's what I do. I fucking wing everything and look what that's gotten me? A whole new thread and enough possibilities to choke out a random generating machine. Just let it roll man. Controlled chaos makes for the best situations that players like, so I aim to give them that.

      Thank you.

Tiberius's armor is of Greek origin, the Phrophet's armor precedes that.

The Captain is dead. Its canon, and I will enforce it.

Mikhialio is suffering from severe PTS, which fits in with the character I approved. The Captain will not be taking over his mind, and if I feel that is what he is attempting, then it will be shot down, and he will be banned as was previously agreed.

I know that you and Discopete do not have a good history together, and I know that your view on any matter regarding him is jaded, but he has not yet broken any rules.

Yes, because a hallucination is the exact same thing as a full blown resurrection from the dead. You are an intelligent man, Roland, and I know that you are able to read. Please, do not start this.

Use the little girl named Marlene from Final Fantasy Advent Children. She'll do.

The Picture for Claire you have there is a boy actually from a movie Final Fantasy Advent Children and Claire is a girl. And the picture you have for Jason is good. :)

I'm discussing something right now, but Jayme Cawthorne is the woman who rigged the bomb to kill Tara's team 4 years ago.

Not quite sure what rank I wanna give her, but I want her to be rather high up giving her access to alot of shit.

For my Jayme Cawthorne NPC? Sure lol. I love Indiana Jones. And yes, she was in it.

Do you happen to have Skype? That would make it easier to coordinate things in the RP.

Daughter is 3 years old, her name is Claire, the man is her father, Jason, but Tara and him have no relationship at all anymore. The daughter was severely beaten because of who she's related to and they both live in hiding.

Yeah he survived, though in the finale they locked him in a cage and dropped it into the ocean. The end credits showed him underwater reaching through the bars, it was pretty bitchin'. Though that doesn't really pertain to anything besides the show.

So then I guess your character is closer to a Highlander immortal, if that even matters.

Alright, just wondering because I figured it was the only thing that can kill your character. Permanently that is.

At least according to 'Roar'. So I'm not sure how much weight you can put into it.

      SOB

I wasn't there for the West Mountain and Alpha RP's and I was wondering if anyone has addressed the Spear of Longinus? As far as your character is concerned that is.

      Short Answer:Not now.

I am not starting it, I am getting thread activity going. I have no story planned out yet, so don't shut down your arc. I am just trying to do a sub-plot that will hint at things to come.

I was merely trying to spice up Finch's space battle. I'll stop trying to increase thread activity.

Though, a piece of constructive criticism, you need to have actual conflict on NPCs vs PCs, rather than just your NPCs vs your NPCs, it's kind of mastubatory at this point.

      -Sigma-

In my absence, Discopete approached me about someone having intent to use his character for some sort of plot device in Sigma Outpost. If you know anything about this, please let me know, so I can set things straight.

      Thanks in advance.

Right, I'm working on the post right now.

So how significant is that? By the way, I'm planning on finally getting out of the simulation soon. Already working on the last post, and like before, I'll message you it first before posting.

Saw it both already, and I am interested in the latter idea. We'll see what happens when the memories recollection ends, but I can't expect Palmer to be calm after this revelation.

He is already making plans for a completely new character.

I think what I meant by that was moderation of how he acted, because I thought it didn't sound right but I couldn't remember that well.

That works, goes well with the idea.

Green Army: An army devised of fighting enemies that other armies would be insane to even touch. Excel in the unconventional, and have a complete loyalty to their superiors, such as the Sects and Green Command. Their ties with Blue Army date back to pre-insurrectionist times where land-grabbing was a big thing for the different armies. Them and the Blue Army never got on each other's bad side, but they had several moments where it was tested by politicial situations. However, off the record, there was a joint operation done by the two in the past. It was kind of a thing that I wanted to write a full story about but never had time.

Sects(Sections): Think of them as, private militant groups, private investigators, assassins, mercenaries, scientists, the works. These are the people that do things for the Green Command that they don't want showing up on paper.

Green Command: The mysterious leaders of the Green Army, very shady group that doesn't say much to people outside of their leadership. The only thing known about them officially is that their long term goal is the bettering and advancement of the human race as a whole.

These are the main parts, didn't feel like going into depth about the other parts. However, Green Command is off limits, they are a special little thing that I have completely in store for a far later down the road events, if we ever get there.

    • meleesoldier

In the back story kind of sense, there had to be some way the different armies acted between one another before we got to our current status, AKA before the 12th regiment or Green Team.

    • meleesoldier

Thought about it but decided not to, the STG will suffice, continue with what you're doing now. It'll for an interesting Mexican stand off down the road.

    • meleesoldier

How about this, the Green Army group is a small private section, that way I can bring my whole STG ideas back into view and have some fun conversations for me and Cam to play out, if he ever gets back.

    • meleesoldier

Yeah...... That's not going to fly. The whole thing with the Green Army, just doesn't work that way buddy. I've had years of back story between the Greens and the Blues, screwing that all up now, would be disatorous, especially when I just brought back my character who is a clear Green member.

    • meleesoldier

So I hear that you started a Green Army arc, care to fill me in as it is my part of the thread that it would pertain to.
