I woke up around 11 this morning and logged in some game time on WoW. My friend Jason came over and created a new Dwarf Hunter on Hellscream and played for a bit, and then we sat outside while he smoked and we talked for a while.

      2dba19c1031d17a450c18c2wj8.jpg

I started cleaning out my system of all of the files that I don't use or need anymore. About time I did some clean up to make my laptop run faster and smoother. I'm just doing a general detox- removing un-needed programs, deleting temporary internet files, disk cleanup, getting rid of bulky directories, transferring movies that I ripped to my hard drive to dvd and freeing up my hard drive space, and backing up my data.

I'm getting insurance on my car tomorrow, so I'll be up and driving it early in the afternoon. I also get paid tomorrow, so I guess that it's double good news.

Right now, I'm just browsing around using the Firefox 3 beta.

I go to work at 4 and get off at 11. See you then.

    • That New Car Smell

      Elite17

After trying to get a car for over 5 months now, finally have one.

My mother decided that she would sell me the car that she drove and buy a new one. Mom found a brand new car at the Honda dealer with 8 miles on it. Cost = $20,000. She'll have the house payed off by next year, so she can afford to drive something nice, since she wont be having to make a house payment anymore. The car that she is selling me is a 2001 with a decent amount of miles on it, and in very good condition. It gets about in the mid-20s in regards to gas mileage.

She bought a 2008 Honda Accord [in this exact color]

      accordcoupe340xa1.jpg

And now, ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to present my car: 2001 Chevrolet Impala Ls

      00chevyimpalaqx7.jpg
      impala03ac3.jpg

I'll take pictures of the actual car and myself with it later.

      What I did last night:

Meghan and I went to Chinatown and ate, then walked around the Mall.

She bought New Moon by Stephanie Meyer.

      newmoon2dt3.jpg

She also offered to buy me a copy of Batman R.I.P [Batman 676]. I took her up on that offer.

This weekend couldn't get much better.

      Wiki

Anyway, it's my off day. Later today, I plan on chilling with my girlfriend and going out to dinner and a movie, or something to that effect.

Right now, I'm watching Cheech & Chong's Up In Smoke while playing WoW [sound muted] on my laptop [I'm sitting on the couch in the living room].

Also, interestingly enough, I have to make a trade off today with my girlfriend regarding reading material. The deal is that she will read my copy of Watchmen, if I will read Twilight, the first book from a series that she's is into.

We'll see how much I hate it

    • Remind Me

Remind me never to un-install World of Warcraft again. No matter if I stop playing, lose interest in it, can't afford it, whatever- don't let me un-install it. Eventually, I'll cave anyway and start playing again. That's what happened yesterday. It takes me forever to install the big patches like Gods of Zul' Aman.

I'll be playing Horde on Hellscream and Alliance on Arathor.

Apart from installing WoW yesterday, my girlfriend and I hung out and watched My Fair Lady, starring Audrey Hepburn.

      myfairladyposterxq6.jpg

It was quite entertaining. She is a woman after my own heart- she has good taste in film.

We grabbed a bite to eat, and then both went to work. After work, I had to deal with some very, very, very frustrating news regarding family that severely pissed me off. But it will be ok- a solution is coming.

      Pictures from Vacation

Well, 4 days of camping at Gulf State Park was a blast.

The tally of people that came and stayed: Meghan and I, Meghan's Mom, Dad, and Brother, Meghan's Mom's friends [Mr. Phil & Mrs. Melissa] and their kids and grandkids.

Meghan and I got to spend a lot of quality time together- going bike riding to the boat launch and sitting on the edge of the pier, going to the beach, swimming, and laying out in the sun, playing UNO, Poker, and Yahtzee, listening to Smodcast and music in general on the Zune, and went to The Track.

Unfortunately, it rained when we tried to cook t-bone steaks and hamburgers & hot dogs, but we managed to cook them nonetheless on a small grill.

Mr. Phil, with some help from Bud Lite, provided the entertainment with quips like this:

Phil: I have to get up 3 times a night to go pee

Pa [Meghan's Dad]: You know Phil, that might be due to an enlarged prostate. You might need to stop that.

Phil: How do you stop an enlarged prostate?

Pat: I don't know- how do you stop a prostate?

Phil: You give her $50 bucks!

He was pretty hilarious. We hit it off pretty well, due to the both of us liking the Boston Red Sox & Celtics, although I got ragged on for wearing a Chicago Cubs t-shirt. Then we had him tell a lot of stories from when he was in the Coast Guard [just under 20 years], and both her brother, who is in the Navy, and I [planning on Air Force reserves] got ragged on some more.

It was pretty great, despite mother nature's elements: getting rained on, stung by jellyfish, bitten by mosquitoes and yellow flies, and sun-burned just a tad.

It was a much needed vacation.

Now that they're killing off Bruce Wayne as Batman, many super villains have to find a new day job.

The Riddler just found his- INFOMERCIALS!

Seriously- What the hell is this man's problem?

It's like he's excited about being crazy

      sirnick47b8ed21e02debi9.jpg

It's like he's figured out the riddle to how to "get free money".

Just look at his website- it's proof that he belongs in an institutution.

      meetmatthewgk6.jpg

Twenty years ago, Matthew Lesko was working out of his bedroom with one phone line helping Fortune 500 companies get information on commodities - until he got bored.

Lesko's wardrobe is as much a part of his appeal as his frantic message - colorful clothes, like his suit covered with neon question marks, his mismatched bright socks, wild bow ties and a seemingly inexhaustible collection of eyeglasses in every color of the rainbow. He even drives the only Lexus with yellow polka dots. Matthew loves his work.

This man even has a blog.

For christ sakes- this is why we still need Batman. People like this need to stay locked up. The saddest part is that I thought this was a joke. Then I found out it wasn't. That just made me pity this man.

Unrelated: I applied at FYE today. I think that I got the job.

By the way, I am will be going out of town from Tomorrow [Friday, May 23] until Monday, May 26. I am leaving at 8:00 AM tomorrow. I am going camping with my girlfriend's family and some of her parent's friends. I'll be sure to take pictures.

Saw Indy 4 today also. Loved it. Go fucking see it!

After work today, I picked up a Full Throttle Blue Demon and a copy of the National Treasure 2 dvd and took them to my girlfriend at her work [She works at Zaxby's].

After stopping by, my friend Jason and I went over to a friend's house and watched a Lakers game while smoking a couple of Phillies.

After the game, we went to Walmart in search of a pre-paid World of Warcraft game card, but we didn't find one. I looked around the cd section, until I came across this and bought it: The Smashing Pumpkins- Zeitgeist

I picked up season 1 of The Muppet Show on dvd as well.

    • Best. Birthday. Ever.

      Elite17

Today was my birthday. I spent the majority of it hanging with the best girlfriend in the universe.

She took me to eat at Wings [my fav. restaurant to eat, chill & watch NBA games at], played the arcade with me, and gave me some very cool gifts.

      She gave me:

      Super Mario Galaxy

      supermariogalaxycx9.jpg

      American Eagle Real Cologne

and The Dark Knight & Pulp Fiction posters.

After eating, we went to the Namco Arcade at the mall and played Time Crisis 4, Soul Calibur 3, Puzzle Bobble 3, Puzzle Bobble 4, Initial D 4, The House of the Dead 2, and an assortment of other arcade games. In Soul Calibur, I beat her by a slight margin as Nightmare, but the next face off, she completely obliterated me when she was playing as Talim. She's fucking beast mode when it comes to Soul Calibur. However, when it came to Puzzle Bobble 3 & 4, I'm the master. You just can't fuck with a guy who has beaten all 100 levels of Puzzle Bobble/Bust-A-Move. I play that game almost every goddamn day.

After playing the arcade, we went to Books-A-Million, where I picked up:

Infinite Crisis Series 2 Batman figure

      Batman #675

      8974180x270kr1.jpg

      Detective Comics #844

      9311180x270bs3.jpg

I had family over to celebrate yesterday. I received some aftershave, money, and a copy of Super Paper Mario and Sonic Mega Collection.

Thanks to my girlfriend for making this the best birthday that I have ever had!

The "assistant manager" was a snotty self-absorbed little prick that I had to fight not to hit. Apparently being an asshole and not being able to interact with other people are requirements of being a employee at a video game store.

Also every store needs 1 token female because it is the only interaction with women many game-nerds get.

I went walking one night downtown, you know just to get out of tha house. I walked around tha nightlife and clubs and shit. Then I walked down that street with tha cool ass parking lot. You know tha one. I find out that that place is even cooler at night, but I digress, I got to thinking bout how we were that summer; daydream belivers who talked big bout making things happen but woke up to tha real world and put that same drive into everything else. It was then that I realize that we had a strong comrade that was like we knew each other for ten years and walking down that same path downtown reminded me of that. Realize I'm not gonna applogize cause to applogize is to indicate that I didn't mean what I said. Even tho I was angry, I always pick my words carefully when pissed. It's my actions that a nigga don't really calculate carefully. What I said was what I felt was happening to our friendship, that you made more than I did and you flaunted a little more than you should have, that you were throwing me under tha bus to make room for new shit in your life...I mean, think about it, brah. I'm proud of your growth, pimp, always we be weather doing good or ugly and tha only thing I regret is that I throw away our friendship over somthing like that without smoothing shit over. So for that: I applogize. On tha note hit me up on my house phone anytime, kiddo and let me stop before they start playing Steel Magnolias or some shit, knawmeen.
