      January - June: ???

      July: RTX

November - December: Thanksgiving and Christmas

      Anyways. Onto more important things.

@Tristan, @AshMiles1, @Jehson, @Danielle, @SickDemon, @Becka, @Nic: I have known these people for about a year or something, and they have been pretty alright so far. I got spend a week with most of them earlier in the year that really feels not that long ago seriously where the fuck did the year go and I'd give it a solid 7/10. I had a decent time I guess.

But for real. Y'all are all kind of awesome.

@Erkan: I only saw you for a couple of minutes, but it was a pretty cool couple of minutes. I've still got my key chain and it hasn't come off of it since then.

@ejayjolly and @exylm: Randomly meeting you guys when we were sitting in that line for whatever that panel was and exchanging usernames was pretty neat. I haven't seen you guys around since then, and I kind of haven't been on here too much myself either, but I hope to maybe bump into you guys next RTX at some point.

Have a Happy New Years everyone, have fun and stay safe and all that stuff.

See you on the other side. smiley9.gifsmiley13.gif

    • Alien: Isolation - A Short Sort Of Review, Except Not Really...By Me

      Eluviahns

Going into the game I was not some kind of expert on any Alien stuff so you don't have to be either, I have to watch at least the first one now, but it takes place 15 years after the first the end of the first Alien and has you playing as the daughter of Ellen Ripley, Amanda. She gets called on by Weyland-Yutani for a mission to an outpost in space called Sevastopol, is told that the flight recorder from the Nostromo, the ship Ellen Ripley was on, is on board Sevastopol and picking up the flight recorder is the main goal of the mission.

It is very stealth-oriented and if you want to survive more than a few minutes that is pretty much how you have to play it throughout the entire game. Sneaking around with the Alien on your tail is pretty fucking scary, if you have a Kinect and are in a spot where you can't be disturbed, there is a mechanic in the game called peak mode or something and the Kinect's camera can pick up your movement to peak around corners, through the openings in lockers and a few other hiding spots. You can also set the microphone to catch any sound you make, if you are too loud then you might be pretty much boned. Or you can use it to your advantage, by you just making noise on your own or there are a few tools you get that can help you out too.

My opinion is it is a pretty damn good game. There hasn't been a game, that I can remember off the top of my head, that had me breathe a sigh of relief when the finally credits rolled.

TL;DR: Very stealthy game if you want to stay alive for more than a few minutes, supplies like ammo and other stuff can be hard to come by, it is very much survival horror. So if that is your thing, then what are you still doing reading this journal? Go buy the game and play it now.

I would like to turn you all onto this neat little web series I stumbled upon yesterday, called The New Adventures of Peter and Wendy. It's an adaptation J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan to a story that takes place in our world and is set in Neverland, Ohio.

They are also working on getting funding for a second season through their Indiegogo campaign, are a little under halfway to their goal with two weeks to go.

So give them a look, if you enjoy it and if you have the ability to do so, maybe even throw a few bucks their way.

From all of the time spent at the convention, walking around the city and everything else in between - fun times were had from beginning to end.

@Gilby: Bumping into you right after we got out of pre-registration was pretty awesome, you're a really cool dude and it was neat to finally get to meet you. Your How To videos with Joel are one of my favorites series, your How To panel with you and Joel on the center stage on Sunday was the greatest thing ever, keep up the good work.

@Gus: I have no idea where you came from or how you ended up walking behind me, seriously you were like a freakin' ninja, I apologize for being in your god damn way sir. But seriously you and Barbara both do an awesome of getting RTX together every year, this was my first time being there, but hearing everyone talk about how much it's grown, even seeing how much it's changed from last year, is very awesome.

@kzuelch: Your panel was super informative and it was cool to hear you talk about things you've had a hand in, how you started out and how you got to where you are today. A lot of the projects that you worked on were all ones I watched when I was younger, it was cool to find out that you had a part in those movies/tv series, same goes for when I got into Roosterteeth and found it was you that had helped produce content for them as well. You were really awesome, it was nice to meet you and I hope I have the chance to see you again next year.

@JJ: Running into you out on the floor was the best, it was very cool to finally get to meet you, same for you @bgibbles, you guys Recap panel was definitely one of my favorites.

@Ryan: I was really glad to be one of the first few people to catch you walking the show floor before you had to run off again, getting to meet you was definitely up there on my list of things to do at RTX, finally catching you on the last day of the convention was awesome and a picture in front of the Tower of Pimps made it even better.

@Arryn: You were the last person I ran into out on the floor, it was very cool to meet you. Blake definitely became one of my favorite characters, especially towards the end of season given everything that happened, if her trailer is anything to go off of then there is a lot more awesome stuff to come, I can't wait to see what happens next. I think you've filled that role really well so far too.

@Ray I caught you and @Michael for a quick mystery signing before they had to get you guys off to your panel and it was great to see you guys, I hope to see y'all again there next year.

      -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I also finally got to meet my friends that I have been talking to for about a year now.

@Kitsuun, @Tristan, @SickDemon: Textralia WOO. That is all.

@Becka: Congratulations on surviving a week with Kyle and thank you for helping keep him from killing us with his cooking.

      @Jehson: You're alright for a Canadian.

@Danielle: You're pretty cool yo. We all went from mother thread, onto game nights and late night group chats and now this. That's pretty awesome, it was very cool to meet the evil genius behind most of all of this coming together.

Only 357 days until next time, or something like that, can't wait to hang out with you all again! Onward to RTX 2015! smiley0.gifsmiley13.gif

    • YES FINALLY

I finally finished Tomb Raider, getting all the collectibles there were to get and everything, I have to say that was a pretty damn good game. They had some really cool action sequences and enemies throughout the game, running around fighting those Oni soldiers towards the end was a nice change of pace from dealing with all the human enemies that you had to fight towards the end of the game.

Also the ending was pretty cool with how they set things up for the sequel, I'll definitely be picking that one up whenever it comes out because that is gonna be a really cool adventure to go on, there will also be a comic coming out at the end of February that bridges the gap between this game and the sequel and I'm absolutely gonna be picking that up because that sounds really cool and it will be interesting to see what happens in the time between the games.

Probably not going to bother with the multiplayer since I heard it was kinda shit.

I didn't see one dedicated thread to share projects in so, from what I understood from the rules I am, hopefully, doing this correctly. smiley7.gif I wanted to share with you a couple of short films that I got to be a part of this year. This first one is called Ostinato, for all of you not so musically inclined people out there, Ostinato is just something that repeats throughout a musical composition and it'll make sense when you see the film, anyway here it for you all to see:

Here is the second short film called Fish in the Sea, which definitely seems like the more solid one out of the two to me.

Hope you all enjoy the both of these! smiley13.gif

That's awesome. I've seen some of the models you've made, after only a little over a month that's pretty neat.

So have you started any little projects or have any in planning for the future?

We all start somewhere right? About a month and a half I've taken classes. My boyfriend is the student teacher and we both share a love for animation and for roosterteeth :)

Nice now we could be name buddies, start a top secret organization to take over the world and we could also get matching tattoos.

Oh yeah speaking of grandmas then my great grandma used to do sort of the same thing, her and my grandma were the only two that would say stuff like "qué chulo" with the cheek pinch and all that so I'm pretty sure that's a universal thing because my grandma still does that even now.

Also I read your story in your comments section earlier and that was pretty cool to see how you got started with all this, I've watched that 10 year anniversary video a few times, and a few other things here and there as I've started to watch some other series, and I've liked them a lot.
