The Tone knob on my PRS was loose and instead of changing the tone it just rotated, so being the retard I am I yanked it till the tones changed. Well this snapped off a bunch of the wires and so I have to solder them back on soon. I should have just tightened the knob. Its a good thing PRS puts the schematics online otherwise I'd be fucked. Its also bad because its my dads guitar >.< Not to mention it costs a few thousand dollars 0.0

Moral of the story, when something is fucked, dont make it worse by pushing it harder or using it incorrectly. I did have issues with certain pickups on certain tones earlier so hopefully this should fix those as well. Also I got a neat lesson on the inner workings of guitars.

UPDATE: Soldering didn't work, guitar still doesn't play. Going to Guitar Center tmrw >.< Im paying the bill. Hopefully it will be cheap.

My dad and I are seeing Phil Lesh and Friends at the Chicago Theater. Heres last night's setlist. I can't bloody wait. Our seats are section 402, row DD, use this picture. Fourth Fucking Row! This is gonna be awesome. Ill post an update tonight.

      UPDATE:

I am back, and oh boy, that was one hell of a show. Here is the setlist. Theres only one way to describe it, it was fucking awesome. Everything was so awesome. They played with the awesome vocalist Chris Robinson who is of course from the great band The Black Crows. They had the incredible guitarist Larry Cambell who plays in Bob Dylan's band. The selection of tunes was so good. They had the standard Dead jams of Scarlet Begonias, Fire on the Mountain, but they also played some unexpected ones. Most unexpected were Eight Miles High and Bob Dylan's Hurricane, which both came out of nowhere. Everyone went wild. They also played Loser which is one of my favorites from Jerry's solo career. There was an open seat next to mine, as seeing as we were in the 4th row people came and went. This one chick about my age came and danced next to me but then a security dude told her to leave. I was like awwe and she blew me a kiss. Whatever. Also I don't think Ive ever heard of a Dead show where they played Truckin' as the encore. How appropriate. The sound was incredible, it was so loud, yet I could hear each instrument seperately and clearly. I've never had so much fun at a concert in my life. It wasn't too smoky, the sound was good, it was a great venue, and most of all Phil and Friends put on an incredible show. It was one of those moments when it felt like you could feel Jerry in the air. It really was an awesome show. I love Deadheads because they are some of the most welcoming and friendly and passionate people to be at a concert with.

If you're around Milwaukee tomarrow you should go, they are playing .

      EDIT:
You can download Friday's Show to get an idea of what it sounded like. Ill post last nights when it becomes available.

    • What a night

Well today my parents surprised me, quite unlike them. A week ago I was told that they were making me go work at a soup kitchen tonight. I don't really have that much of a problem with helping the homeless, its just that I was going to go to a friends tonight so that basically ruined my plans. So today we went downtown and my mom was like, since we are making you do this, we'll go to a nice restaurant, your choice. I chose Greek Isles because I was hungry for some Greek food, I guess. I had the Mousakka which was wonderful. Then my mom handed me a little wrapped present. She said that she was giving me my birthday present early. I opened it and it was 3 tickets to see Jethro Tull. I was really excited then I looked and saw the date. November 20. I couldn't believe it. The whole soup kitchen was a lie, a trick. I was so happy! =D

The concert was awesome. They played mostly from Aqualung, but several songs from their more Folk-Rock oriented material. The song that made the night for me was Led Zeppelin's Kashmir. For several songs they brought out a young (and not bad looking =P) girl who goes to some school of music to play violin. She was fucking awesome. She did a piece by a composer that I forgot (he wrote it on the toilet, so if anyone knows please comment). Then she played a Bach piece with Ian Anderson on flute. But when they played Kashmir she went absolutely wild. I've never heard violin like that. If I should dare say it was more awesome than if Jimmy Page came out on stage right then and joined in for Kashmir.

The encore was Wind-up, which had a notably good guitar solo and yeah, the violin chick ;-)

Another arrangement that surprised me was Hymn 43. They abandoned the hard rock sound of the original for sort of an Irish folk sound. It was very interesting.

Over all the concert was great. Oh I should note that we also had 11th row seats. And the acoustics was awesome, as we were at the Civic Opera House.

I found out today that one of my friends from Junior High, Tommy Wang, was in a car accident and he is now brain dead. His brother died. This is way too much for one family to lose. I feel so terrible for their loss and I miss Tommy. He didn't go to our high school (he went to a catholic school) . As you may remember last year my good friend Marco was killed when he was hit by a car on his bike. Why the hell does every fucking loss have to be with our school and one of my friends. Also it pisses me off because when Marco died the whole school was totally devestated, but with Tommy everyone just talks about it, and its not like with Marco where in my school everywhere I looked I saw someone crying. I think its because he doesnt go to our HS, and he wasnt as popular as Marco. That doesn't make a difference though, because they both had their whole lives ahead of them, and they will never be able to experience that. So the point is feel for Tommy and pray for his family because they basically lost two sons.

    • Razzy

Great taste in music! You should try to find some stuff by two early 1970s bands that were considered the heirs to the Beatles' sound. Badfinger was a UK band and Raspberries were from Cleveland. I think you'll really like both of them. Unfortunately half of Badfinger is dead now. I think one of the members is touring with a bad he calls Badfinger. :-\ The ORIGINAL members of Raspberries are doing some reunion shows this summer and fall, though. Last Nov. was the first time they'd played together in more than 30 years and they totally kicked ass! If you get a chance to see them, take it.

      1. Describe me. Compliments or nastiness, doesn't matter. You're a smart kid that knows a bunch about current technology.
      2. Tell me my strengths and what I'm good at. You're good at helping others. You're kind and seem to enjoy giving advice when it's asked for.
      3. Tell me my weaknesses. Help me be a better person. I can't think of any either. >.>
      4. Tell me why you are my friend (other than one of us clicked "Add Friend"). You help me out and always comment. We talk through IMs so we keep in touch.
      5. Tell me why you like being my friend. If I ever need tech advice, I run to you. Duh!
      6. Tell me something I've done for you that you appreciated. You told me of PSP's ROM qualities. And GAIM. Thanks man.
      7. Tell me something you've learned from me. I learned that Pokemon can be played on PSP. Wow.

Justin, I think it would be awesome if "this" took off and was a trend. If you made a journal friends only journal like mine, with the list, that would be cool and mean a lot to me. Spread the word, please!
