Hi everyone! It's been a really long time since I had more than a couple of minutes to take a break and really log in, so I figured I'd make a post. I should be back on the forums some time later this winter after I'm done moving.

My copy of Ghosts that Linger came today and it's awesome! I'm so glad Trocadero got another CD out before I left the US (Because shipping internationally stinks).

Happy Holidays and have a great New Years. Looking forward to duking it back out on the forums again in 2010!

    • Something Amazing...

Woke up this morning much too early and found myself unable to get back to sleep. Played some ODST, checked my Twitter feed, and then decided to look at my e-mail (and see how much spam I had accumulated). Found this instead:

      Dear Student,

I am pleased to advise that you have been awarded a University of Sydney International Scholarship (USydIS) for semester 1, 2010.

Full boat scholarship. Shocked, excited, and wondering if my karma has just been hitting me with bad stuff for 2 years so that it could build up for something this amazing to happen. After all the money worries, I can finally relax a little and breathe.

Anyone else ever have one of those moments where they come back to a story they haven't worked on in a while and suddenly realize that because they wrote it under unusual circumstances (such as: being in a hurry, being in a foreign country surrounded by people who don't use good English grammar, NaNoWriMo... etc.) and it's actually not nearly as well written as you thought it was?

I'm going back through the sections of my novel I wrote when I was living in Japan, and I have to admit that Engrish struck and I was so surrounded by it that I didn't notice at the time. >.< Very embarrassing. Fixing it now though, and doing work on the whole series overall (I had to split it from 2 volumes to 3).

How I'm feeling after 7 hours straight editing:
      Evva_Nikki4ae410207db05.jpg

On the upside, one of my good friends thinks that the silly short story I wrote to blow off some stress was really funny. /Hurray for screwing up the epic tale of Robin Hood!

PS: My AF total is now up to 6 complete sets, and I'm 5/5, 4/5, 3/5, and 2/5 on Relic. SMN and BST Adjustments for November FFXI Update = What took so long?!

I haz achievements >.> Ok, I broke down and bought an XBox finally. It was bound to happen. Had too much fun with ODST. It also let me hook my XBL account to something finally so I have a gamer score after having had the account for 2 years. Unfortunately, I never was able to get it to work before, so I don't have anything from Halo2, Halo3, or Left4Dead. >.< Going to have to play through again. Oh well, not a huge sacrifice.

Insanity at work has kept me off the site for a month and I couldn't renew my membership until now. Good to be back with the Gold Star ^^b

Looking at doing NaNoWriMo this year. Lets see if work settles down a bit. I gave my notice for December 20th and it feels awesome to have an end date.

Btw, looking at cruising to Australia instead of flying so I can bring my research materials with me. It's about the same price to ship it all and fly anyway and it seems more relaxing to spend 23 days at sea than 16 hours on a plane. Anyone out there reading this ever done a cruise before? If so, any recommendations?

Hi all, I've got actual RL news for once O.O; Wait? I have a life? When did that happen?!

I'm going to be heading to Sydney Australia in February to begin my Graduate Degree! I'm officially a student again! Bring on the discounts! (actually, I'm just psyched to be getting out my house again)

Also, Ghost Busters on PS3 is awsome. Beat it for the first time this morning. It's funny, well written, and true to the movies. I love it. Worthy of being my 3rd PS3 purchase (technically the 4th if you count the FFXIII JP Demo).

Hi everyone. My hand has healed, but life has gotten pretty crazy. I missed even the first 5 eps of the new RvB series. My appologies guys. I am still here and I'm going to try to start updating some more after this week. On the upside, I'm headed to Otakon in Baltimore tomorrow. If you see a Motoko Kusanagi or a Pokota (Slayers), it could be me. Feel free to say 'hi'. It's my first vacation in over a year.

      News-ish-ness:
Earlier this month I was breifly in a segment on the NHK TV show "The Netstar" that was being done about the LeetStreet Boys Song "Yuri The Only One". Two of my costumes were shown. The SMN AF you might recognize from my images here, which was worn by a friend, and I'm behind her in the gold Motoko Kusanagi outfit. I have made a new on for Otakon that is her Second Gig normal outfit.
      www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBLawAtIpyg

There is a possibility I might be Australia next spring starting on my Master's Degree finally. More news to come on that. If you want an XI update, check my DA account (it's linked at the top). Otherwise still working on my writing and some drawing now that my hand is better.

Anyway, thanks to the people who waited patiently for me to get back to them. I didn't mean to be gone for so long.

Customs Agents were like TV shows?

      The Odd Couple:
You would get your luggage back and one bag would be trashed and everything stuffed back in every which way and wrinkled. The other bag would be pristinely packed and steam cleaned with a mint on top.

      Law & Order:
You'd get your bags back but with 15 minutes before your next flights they'd come back and give you a different set of bags.

      Quincy M.E.:
You'd get all your stuff back precisely packed but inside of a dead hooker.

      CSI: Miami:
You'd get your bags back on time but before they handed it over, the agent would have to make a witty side comment and tip his sunglasses at you.

      The Simpsons:
You'd get your stuff back on time but all of the gloves would only have three fingers.

      Monk:
Bag will never have been opened but somehow the items are packed even neater than how you originally did it and alphabetized.

      Myth Busters:
Let's just say... you don't get your bag back.

      The Big Bang Theory:
You get everything back, and Sheldon has bar-coded every item for your convenience. It takes you 4 hours to unpack.

      Wire in the Blood:
Your bag has a curious red stain around the handle.

      Lost:
You get your bag back but for some reason the contents are items you packed for a previous trip.

      Battlestar Galactica:
When you open up your bag all it contains is a toaster.

      Star Trek:
You get your bag back after a five year mission where it boldly goes where no bag has gone before, unless it's red in which case you never get it back at all.

      Dexter:
Whatever you do, don't open your bag...

      Doctor Who:
You get your bag back but for some reason it now contains a first run manuscript for a Shakespearian Play and a Laser gun.

      Torchwood:
You get your bag but it has a green slime in it and the fellow who hands it back to you gives you a roguish wink that makes you feel uncomfortable...

      Top Gear:
Your bag is destroyed and covered in tier marks and handed back to you by a mute man in a full-faced white helmet.

      Fox News:
Every blue item of clothing has been replaced with a red one.

      MSNBC:
All the items of red clothing are still there, but you also get a DVD of Keith Obermann making fun of them.

      Red vs. Blue:
You get your suitcase back dented and destroyed with some guy in orange armour stuck inside of it.

      The X-Files:
You don't get your luggage back, the contents have been classified top secret, but you want to believe it will eventually come back.

      Iron Chef:
      Today's Secret Ingredient is...Luggage!

Space Opera is a genre that is made up of stories that have more of a old west, or early 20th century detective story feel to them that are set in a science fiction environment. Some examples and a better explanation can be found here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_opera

you really made me want to upgrade my copy of photoshop to try drawing that way. I'm stuck with 5.5

actually I started with version 5.5 myself... There aren't many functions I use in later versions that aren't in version 5.5.

i've been lookn into the keyboard online and found that i may have to call logitech to special order it. but i wont hear from my brother til maybe tomorrow to see what he can find for me down there. took me a while but i found that my brothers area's of travel dont include kanto, only chubu, although i think he doesnt travel through the niigata prefecture if he does its only a small portion ill have to look into it.

ya i took 12 years of japanese in school i could have had 13, took one year in college, but our 8th grade teacher had extremely too high expectations for her students so i dropped out then and got back in it in highschool. my brother is currently in japan so it would be cool to get a keyboard from there only downside i see is finding a program that will work with the keyboard for typing. currently i study on my own just so i can keep the language although i need as much practice as i can get with it. japanese anime helps...id love to go back to japan though ive been to tokyo, chitose, and supporo. i want so see the southern areas of japan
