Hello all, should there be any all left to read this.
I completely forgot it existed, to be honest.
Life sure got crazy for a little while there. It's incredible what can change over four or five years.
      Seems like everything has changed.
My residence, my education, my occupation, my relationship...
Those who personally know me are already quite aware that Phil and I are divorced. I'm in a pretty steady relationship with a man who has been my friend for the past decade.
I finally have my own place, too. No more sharing space with parents and siblings.
I left BBY and did some traveling work for Olan Mills Church Directories. Who remembers those guys? Well, they were taken over by Lifetouch before I left them. Picked up a job in a doctor's office after that while working at a different BBY location as a second job, then finally left both of those to be where I am now. It's a call center, but it's a place I can actually help people out and feel like a valued employee.
I am also back in college full time. This is my first semester back since 2009. I am incredibly grateful it is nearly complete... then I'm taking the summer off to recover. I spend 40 hours or so at work each week, with 12 1/2 hours at school, and almost every hour between that is not spent sleeping or eating (and even some of that gets sacrificed, like lately due to term papers) I feel as though is dedicated to homework.
I do get to have a little bit of a social life here and there at least.
I have an entirely different set of friends now a days. Most of the people I considered to be close friends, the very folks I would have done just about everything for, weren't too excited about the divorce. Hell, even my insurance agent sided with him.
But you know, it was a necessary change for the better. Last I heard from him he was attending college himself. The both of us have made efforts to improve our lives. Ours simply wasn't a productive relationship. I'm okay with that :-)
I also fill up my spare time loving on my pups. I still have my dachshund, the old grouch. My boyfriend and I also have a German Shepherd/Lab mix. He is a bit obnoxious, but a total sweetheart.
No kids, obviously. My pups are plenty enough for me for now.
Gaming has been non-existant for me as of late. Before the semester started I was playing The Secret World - A modern day/post apocalyptic MMO. Gotta say, I love that thing. Just wish I had a 64 bit system to run it more smoothly. My 32 bit crashes constantly. The graphics are sick, and I enjoy the game play. It's a more challenging game, in my opinion. Can't quite get away with just button smashing and there are so many options on how to build your abilities and what you can specialize in. Plus - Grind the experience and you can eventually master everything.
      Anyway, almost time for class.
      Take care folks.

      My tummy hurts.
Phil won't be home until about 3am...
It's after midnight and I just got home from a birthday party.
Aion is great so far. I think Phil may be getting a tad bored, but I love it.
We got up to level 20 as Asmodians, then deleted them and leveled up to around 14ish or so as Elyos, only to start up as Asmodians on another server... We are currently level 19. PvP sucks for us on this server... but I refuse to re-roll again.
I didn't get the promotion at work... but another spot will be opening soon when my favorite co-worker moves to another store. Not sure I'll stick around with the department, but the more I talk about moving to the sales floor or merchandising, the more I feel as if the higher ups are trying to convince me otherwise. The job I'm doing is easy... you just have to actually do it to be good at it.
After doing nearly the same thing for the past five years... I think I'm ready for something different.
Facebook is ridiculously addicting. In fact, my father-in-law just added me as a friend on there.
I'm thinkin' I should probably watch what I say on there. I'm still not sure what he thinks of me, but it can't be really good.
I've wasted enough time. I just felt the need to type something up... and I only put journals on here. Bit easier to be more open about things. Silly, right?
I plan to catch up on journals over the next week. Expect my comments. <3

    • Goodbye for the weekend! FINALLY!

Today sucked. I shouldn't be writing this, really. For almost 2 hours credit and debit cards wouldn't work at the registers and some customers got really upset about that. When trying to get a manager one of them, probably unintentionally, kinda sorta yelled at me over the headset which really kind of struck me... I'm awful at being yelled at. The girl who was going to come in early for me so I could leave early didn't...
Turns out she was covering someone else's shift, but the manager never approved it... so the someone else had to come in and did not do so early. Also... my interview didn't happen this morning like I expected. In fact it was put off until 4:45, my originally scheduled time off. So I stayed after a good half hour. No bank stop for me.
Now I'm typing this as fast as I can because I need to vent before I hit the road. It's supposed to be just over a two hour drive. I'm exhausted from hardly sleeping last night and being so busy today. Didn't help we were under staffed. Sure, there were slow points... but when we had customers I was the one who had to explain our problems to them.
Lotsa rude ones in today, too. Whatever.
Fortunately Erin already placed the bug bombs and put out the pilot lights so I just need to gather all of my unpacked stuff (I haven't packed anything yet... Oi.) and shove it in the car along with my younger sister and my dachshund, then grab some gas... And try to survive rush hour traffic that will likely double my road time.
Wish me luck! I am SO ready for this camping trip! =P

    • Really?

I was anxious all day for my interview for the full time position at my job... only to be disappointed. They scheduled too many and got behind... so mine was supposed to be between 2 and 3... and I got off work just after 5. We rescheduled it as they counted down my drawer so that I could leave.
Now I'm going to be anxious until Friday. =P At least I'll have it done with before the camping trip.
By the way, Warriors Orochi is pretty awesome. =) Phil and I have been playing it quite a bit lately. I still pick up Fable 2 when Phil isn't around... but he is constantly playing Warriors Orochi.
It's really nice to have a game we can play together without me driving him absolutely insane. I like to think I'm pretty good at the game. ^.^ At this moment he's actually looking up the characters from it to find out just who they are/were in the real world. I love seeing him so excited about it. Then again, history did always interest him... Throw in some characters from a game and he's like a little kid in a candy store as he researches every single one.
      smiley12.gif
Off to brave the chilly weather. It cooled off pretty drastically!
      Unfortunately it won't last. u.u

      -Yawn-
I really don't want to get ready for work. I would rather curl back up in our big comforter. It was nice and warm there.
I really hope the day passes quickly. I'm really excited about this weekend. I haven't gotten my Friday shift covered... but Saturday and Sunday are officially taken care of, so at least I get to even go. My dad and Phil are heading out on Thursday. My younger sister is coming into town on Friday, so I'm hoping I can get both sisters and my mom to wait on me to finish at work so that I don't have to drive down alone. They'd only have to hang out for a few extra hours and it was save on gas, plus we wouldn't have to deal with an extra car.
Ooooh, I'm sooo excited! It's been a couple years since I've been camping, and more still since we've gone with the family...
And we're taking the dogs with us. I've really been wanting to take my dachshund out.
So that's what has been on my mind all week... and will continue to be there for the next few days.
I'm more than ready for a break, too. It won't be like the days I've had off lately where I just sit around or run errands. We'll actually be out of the house and enjoying the weather.
Oooh... -please- let the weather hold up for us! It's been gorgeous outside lately and I've had to work through it.
Working during such a great day really... well... ruins the day. Things have been really frustrating with my job. Most of the people are great, but I still haven't moved to a different department. I applied for a full time position, and if that doesn't go through I'm going to beg for a spot in Merch.
I still have not heard back from Boss man about having a spot somewhere in the haunt park. I've given up on it. Even if he did respond I wouldn't be able to make the last training session, which I believe is a requirement for everyone except his house. I could be wrong. I don't want to work in another house anyway.
Bah... I've put this off too long. Time to get ready... I really hope they don't set me to striking again. I did that all weekend... x.x
Oh, for you WoWers, enjoy Brewfest. =) Surprisingly... I don't miss my MMOs. I guess it's just like quitting smoking.
Okay... so I still want a cigarette occasionally... but I haven't picked the habit back up. <3

So I worked all day yesterday. I had a 10-5 shift at BBY, and then just after 6 Phil and I headed to Mesquite for craft night with the Haunt folks. I love craft nights. =) The people we work with... they're like family, and the nights are never uneventful. Last week I drew up some nice little "shadows" that I take a lot of pride in, and this week I did a ton of painting. My hands are still spotted black from the spray cans. Plus I learned some basic sewing. A couple of the girls and I sewed up one of the props, and once everything was done for the night our tomboy of the group, 18 year old Morgan, did some wrestling with our Boss man. Boss man is a big guy... so naturally he won often... But Morgan had some pretty neat moves herself and at least she didn't go down without a fight.
After awhile Philip stepped into the ring (er... the center of the living room, anyway) and the guys went at it for awhile. It was quite a sight, really... they wanted to work on some defensive moves and what not, and they wound up in some really ...er... interesting positions.
Well, go figure Boss man already had a big tear in his pants (which he "fixed" by wrapping electrical tape around his pant leg, even though that only covered a small part of the rip)... and somehow Phil ended up with a big hole in the back of his own shorts.
So this morning I put my sewing lessons to use. The stitching is pretty crummy... and the thread isn't quite the same color, so it stands out a bit... But fortunately the girls told me to turn them inside out or it would look a lot worse.
I'll be lucky if it lasts more than one wear, but that's okay... if it rips again I'll just get in some more practice.
Now I just have to find his other pair of torn shorts and his two pairs of pajama pants that were ripped up a long time ago...
But just because I'm starting to sew a bit doesn't mean I'm going to start cooking a ton more. smiley6.gif

How do you keep up with all of my journals?
And you don't just leave a "Hey, I was here... this spot has been marked" kind of comment. You actually leave something relating to what I've written...
      You impress me, sir. =P
So today marks our two year anniversary. Unlike many other people that I know my age or older, Philip and I have managed to remain married for two whole years, and plan for more. Sure, we've had our spats... and my overemotional self has probably bawled enough to make an impressive lake or two... But we've stuck through it together. He may be an ass, and I may be a crybaby... but we love each other.
People ask me alot "How's married life?"
I used to be naive and say "It's fantastic!"
Now I usually just say something along the lines of "It has its really great moments, and its really sucky ones... But I'm still proud to be married to him."
Because it does have it's really amazing moments... and then it has those moments where everything just seems to go to the crapper...
Yet I haven't once regretted having him as my partner.
Shoot, I'm gettin' mooshy. Time to get to bed. I have a long day of work tomorrow.

Despite being almost constantly teased for playing MMO's (and having a permanent retainer glued into my mouth, which wasn't my choice fyi), hitting a rough patch with the hubby that left me bawling my head off (and had me bummed at several points throughout the day), working just short of 8 hours on a really busy day with only a fifteen minute break (by law I'm required to take 30 minutes off the clock, but it was unplanned... so now I'll have to sign some paper explaining that or something, even though I didn't really care... it's more money), and feeling like my mother's slave ("Make me some coffee" "Refill my soda" "Bring down the vacuum" ...as she sits on her butt watching TV. I love my mom... but that's a peeve of mine.) ...All very minor things, but just a tad frustrating when smooshed all together...
I'm rather happy. I was walking on the treadmill and my dachshund hopped up and walked with me for a bit. smiley12.gif Well, I guess his walk was more of a trot... not quite a run, but definitely more than just walking for those tiny legs...
It was just too freaking cute watching him try to catch up to me, despite us only being a few inches apart. However, he eventually had to hop off so I could speed it up a bit. He can only handle a speed of .5, which is the slowest it will go. To have a work out be remotely effective, I have to set it above 2. And believe it or not... .5 and 2 are very much different.

By the way... if you were on a tight budget, but wanted a bit more excitement in your life... what would you do?
Apparently the fact that I love video games only amused my husband for so long. Since we're not going to school at the moment... he's feeling pretty restless. I need some ideas so I can make things more... spontaneous and interesting. And no, I'm not talking about sex. I'm actually talking about life outside of the bedroom. smiley0.gif

Too bad release isn't until the middle of November. x.x

As far as the hubby thing goes... I was pretty frustrated at the time, but it's not really a big deal. At least he came up to my work today and applied for a credit card... Unfortunately we were both declined. /sigh. So instead of getting the $300 GPS unit for $75 along with the better of the 360's for $300... which we would have had 6 months to pay off with no interest...
We stuck with just the cheapest 360 for $200 and I have to wait for my GPS. u.u Oh well.

    • I. Hate. Waiting.

      FalseHope01

So I figured he would be home by the time I got off work. He told me just last night that he would be home by then. My plan was to drag him up to my work to fill out a credit card application so he can start building up his credit and so I can catch a great deal - A GPS that was originally three hundred bucks, temporarily marked down to a mere seventy five. Two hundred twenty five dollars savings. Can't beat that. Plus you get a year of internet for Google, up to date gas prices, traffic updates, and current maps. I figured that's pretty awesome. And I could use a case for my Ipod Nano.
But I didn't want to get the GPS right away if he could get a card and put it towards building credit...
So three hours later... I've been sitting at home waiting for him. Just as I heat up a hot dog... He calls and wants me to meet up with him and his friend at some food place down the road that I've never heard of, so now I'm going to throw my dinner in a plastic bag for later and go spend money on food instead of the GPS.
      Blech.
      Men. smiley5.gif

Researching reveals so much learning and knowledge.
And I get lost in it, heh!

What started out as a simple quest into an entertainment venture in (and around) Allen resulted in a trek through time and into the history of Allen, Texas. LOL!

Must of overshot my goal. smiley6.gif

But yeah, I found out what I wanted to know and a WHOLE lot more. But to get back to the basis of our conversation concerning the rock n roll agenda, lol.... my original interest came through an interview I saw of .38 Special where they headlined a 4th of July celebration there in Allen in 2006.

Sam Bass Day and all. What an interesting city you live in Katie.

Pizza Hut Park rings a little bell. Or park anyway, lol. Maybe that was what I heard about. I'll have to research. It bugs me when I can't figure something out and then I go into research mode like a mad man, haha!

Well, you were just a kitten back in that time I was raising cane, lol. Now I really feel old, or older. Sweet home Alabama huh? Lot of my people out that way, lol. I'm Choctaw and Choctaws originated from that area. It's likened to Southeastern Oklahoma (where I was born). Lot of towns with Choctaw names. Rich in Indian heritage.

And now that I got totally off track and it's late, I better go. My college games start at noon. Full day ahead ruining my eyes watching TV, haha!

      Later Katie...

Speaking of concerts, I see you guys have a new facility ready to open up for concerts and other events. The Allen Event Center?

Where do they have concerts right now? Is there some sort of outdoor facility that has an annual event where there are a bunch of bands that perform on the same day or over the weekend or something? I need to find out where I heard or read something about the entertainment focus out there, lol. I read or heard something on a couple of occasions about Allen on the rock n roll front and thought both times, "hey, I know someone from there". LOL

Yeah, you live in that area of Texas that gets that bowl of heat every year. Where all that humidity and high temps congregate for days, lol. Me and my nephew used to go to an outdoor concert called The Texxas Jam at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas. Have you ever heard of it? They held them back in the 80s. We went to 4 of the 10 years they held it. "Hot Damn Texas Jam" was a common phrase referring to the event, lol. I know you must of been just a toddler back then, haha, as this was 20 years or so ago, but just wondering if you've ever heard of it.

Yeah I guess Allen, TX is down there a bit huh? lol

I was reading somewhere the other day that Allen, TX is some kind of hub for rock n' roll. It seems they get a lot of cool rock concerts down there. I may get back with you on that subject later.

But yeah, you wouldn't last too long up north would you? I'm only as far north as Indiana, it's worse in Michigan and Minnesota and states like that, lol. I grew up in Oklahoma and we had good and bad winters. I've also lived in Houston for 10 years but I sometimes forget they don't get very many winters down there, haha!

And I kinda got off topic there but ... that fireplace image you painted sounds so cozy. smiley0.gif

I admit I have strange eating habits without cheese in my diet, lol. Yes, sandwiches do in fact get old, but it's not like I eat them everyday, just as other people don't have pizza every day, lol. So, I dig other foods and dishes... only without the cheese additive. It does pose a caution when I go to restaurants cause you know how some places like to spruce up their dishes. So, I tend to check the menu out very carefully before ordering that "made our own unique way" meal, lol.

Mm, that totally doesn't work for me. You're going to have to change that. ^-~
Maybe I'll call you when I actually stay out... which is usually at a party... though even that is pretty rare.
I apologize ahead of time if I start drinking before that call comes though.

      In reply to C16H14N2O, #-1:

I personally have one, technically. Our dachshund.
My sister adopted the mix breed, Lucan, off us.
We're renting a room from my folks and they own two large mutts I love to death and a cat. So five in total live here... but I only claim ownership over one.

      lol, good.

How many pets do you have anyway? lol I thought you only the two dogs.

That one that sneaks into your room might be sending a message of some sort. Maybe you need to get a dog whisperer to talk to that one, lol.

x.x Fortunately no. We've learned how to prevent that.
Unfortunately the other one keeps sneaking into our room to do his business.
Otherwise, our pup and the others living with us are doing swell. =)

I don't have to eat the fish do I? x.x

Not necessarily - I've seen animals such as a dog roll around on the fish, I guess you could try that method... heh!

Speaking of dogs... how's your dogs? Does the one (forget the name) still roll around in your ... uh... foundation garments? LOL

      Thanks Katie!

This project will probably take a couple of weeks to put together anyway, so no rush in posting the new images. I'll be looking for them in the future.

      Have a good evening. smiley0.gif
