    • Pacific Rim, Better Than Expected

I have to say, Pacific Rim was prolly the best bad movie I have seen yet. As soon as I suspended all expectations it was actually a lot of fun. Just a big group of super robots beating monsters up :D

It had every bad cliche in it but I had a ton of fun anyways. I recommend seeing it to anyone that hasn't yet.

    • LucasArts :(

I weep for the passing of LucasArts out of the developer realms. I know that LucasArts was responsible for it's far share of duds over the past 30 years. That being said, there hasn't been a game released by the Star Wars juggernaut that I was not excited about. In addition, I would say I was happy with about 90-95% of my experience with LucasArts' games. I know many were not received well critically but I personally enjoyed almost every one of them. When the news came out, I was actually hoping I was just seeing a post 2 days late and I had missed out on another April Fool's joke. I was remiss to find that I was wrong.

LucasArts was a great company in my own opinion and I am very sad to see them go.

    • Defiance Beta Disappoints and New ERB

Well, my title says it for the most part. I am under an NDA but honestly I don't think that my comments will breach that NDA and if they do oh well haha. I have been very disappointed in the Defiance MMO from all I have seen so far. I won't get into specifics and I am so hopeful that they make the game better somehow but as it stands now I am so glad I didn't preorder it. I am not saying that it will never be good, but an MMO where I can't group with friends is a pretty poor MMO for me, regardless of anything else.

In happierest news, there is a new Epic Rap Battles of History out today, Adam vs. Eve, and I am looking so forward to watching it after class (I'm posting this from class now, I'm a bad student O:D). Being a man myself, I'll be rooting for Adam. Hopefully this will be another great. Season 2 has had a few hit/miss episodes like the Marilyn Monroe vs Cleopatra (I'm not a fan of that one) but has also had some really epic episodes too (Darth Vader vs Hitler Part 2 was amazing). I'm so hoping that this one will be great but regardless I'm excited to see another installment. I love it when a unique idea like this gets a lot of recognition and people can make a living doing something that they enjoy so much. I may not personally care for all of their episodes, but I appreciate the effort that goes into each one and am always wanting more :D

    • The Cycle of MMOs Continue!

I can't decide what is best of the MMOs I'm currently active in. I've tried a bunch of different games, but I keep coming back to WoW, Guild Wars 2, and SW:TOR. WoW has that deep set feeling that it has been around for a long time and you can definitely see why when you play it. There is lots to do (finally got a max level char :D) and the potential for more activity is just endless. SW:TOR gives me access to a world I love and it also provides a fresh style compared to WoW's fantasy world that still keeps a very similar system. I feel like if SW:TOR could have as much content as WoW this wouldn't even be a question. However, the real fact is that SW:TOR hasn't been around as long and just doesn't have that capability yet. Plus, it would be unreasonable of me to expect as much out of it, even though I want it to be so just because I'm human. Lastly, Guild Wars 2. This game hit like a truck and I loved every minute of it. Till I hit max level... The grind didn't exist at all for me till I hit level 80 and just began to wonder what do I do now. I love the game's system, it feels so different and new compared to other MMOs. The break from the trinity for party building is so nice and the ability to play with friends regardless of me being higher level is just so wonderful. I still can't shake the feeling though that there just isn't enough for me to do. WvWvW is really fun and interesting but without a large group to coordinate with I just end up running around and I feel insignificant.

So, for now I'm just trying to keep up some activity in all three (NOT easy) until I finally decide which 2 I will stick with hardcore. The nice thing about Guild Wars 2 is that since it is a buy to play game I can literally just pick it up and go whenever without feeling committed to play it like WoW and SW:TOR. So yeah, first world problems, I can't decide which one I like best haha!

    • I got to play in the Defiance Stress Test (for PC)

      FullMetalSeraph

Well I got to participate in the 1/30 Defiance PC Stress Test. I'm under an NDA agreement for the content but as far as my impressions go I'm hopeful but currently not too impressed. I know the game is still under developement and there are many improvements still being made but I was hoping for a little bit more. My friends and I experienced many issues and I found myself too bored to play the entire duration of the Stress Test. Hopefully, the development that is done between now and the next time I play the game will fix many of the issues we had. I do have to say that out of all the Betas and Stress Tests I have been in, this was the least excited I have been about the game. Usually early access like this only furthers my excitement about a game but this time I actually am more wary of the game. Include all the issues I had getting access to the Beta in there and I'm pretty underwhelmed at the moment.

I would love for Trion to prove me wrong on this but only time will tell. I'm still hopeful for an awesome game though! :D

    • Hawken, My Initial Feelings

So I tried out Hawken for the first time yesterday. I have to say, while the game is definitely lacking in polish (to be assumed for a very recent release into open beta), it has a lot of potential. I haven't seen a good mech fps style game come out for computer for a while and this one has me extremely hopeful. They need a little more refining in the objective type game modes that they have and some more content added overall, but the core system is very well built. I look forward to learning more about this game in the days to come.

When it's all said and done the game won't cost someone anything to just try out and I definitely feel like right now it's worth at least anyone giving it a shot. So go out, download it, give it a shot, but make sure you don't judge this as a full retail release game in quality. Remember, it's still in beta. Thanks all!

    • Too Much Games

So I finally got my character up to Level 90 in WoW. It is tough for me to keep up with 3 MMOs, I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep this up. I'm currently trying to stay active in WoW, SW:TOR, and Guild Wars 2. Realistically, I feel like a person can only be truly active in 1 MMO at a time cause they do require a lot of attention, like big boy's Farmville.

Like Farmville, I am still keeping up with Dead Zone: Last Stand. I'm not sure how much longer this game will keep my interest but so far I've been playing for about a month. I'd recommend anyone with an interest checking this out on Kongregate.

Lastly, I think my team on League of Legends may finally be forming into more of a ranked team. More to come on this later hopefully. We are by no means pro, yet ;)

    • Starting Up WoW Again!

      FullMetalSeraph

Okay, I had a few friends talk me into restarting my World of Warcraft sub again. I'll start off by just saying, I am not and never have been what I would consider a serious WoW player. For instance, I have never had a max level character for the current expansion. I definitely played enough to have one, but I am such an alt-aholic that there was always another character I wanted to play. Well, with Pandaria out now and me having some friends and my first guild back, I think I'm going to finally do it. I am going to get a max level character. I should be wrapping up Wrath today and will start working on Cataclysm too.

I had an interesting (to me) thought today while questing. I am at the point where I don't care too much about the current story. The only MMO that I have given serious effort to has been SWTOR and I think I legitimately cared about the various story lines in that game, even the mundane side quests. Going back to WoW, quest givers and reading the paragraphs they give me almost feels like a chore sometimes. I have to wonder if I am playing the game now because it is actually fun or because I am imagining the fun I will have when I hit max level and go raiding with my friends. It was something I thought of that gave me a pondering subject while I had to kill 60 creatures for a Wrath quest (I hated that quest so much). This pondering was spurred on when I realized I took a break from questing in WoW to go play a different game. I was loading up Natural Selection 2 when I realized and thought "Man, I am treating WoW questing a little bit like I treat my homework" and that strikes me as weird. I dunno, food for thought for me though!
