Day 2 was probably the least fun day since we got snubbed from every single event we wanted to see, but at least we got to wander around the main hall and since the exhibitors. Once we did wander around we noticed that it was actually rather small and not a whole lot to see. We did get pictures with the Tower of Pimps, a real life Warthog and on the Podcast set in the little "RT Museum" they had set up. We did get to see Matt and Burnie and Barbara again but both guys had their kids with them so we didn't think it would be polite to ask for a picture so we just said hey in passing. I did however to get see Geoff and Gavin and Dan again while I was waiting in line to meet Griffon. I was able to buy a necklace and get an autograph from her so that was pretty awesome. I found out later the Geoff was sleeping under her table, while I was there or not I'm not sure but its pretty funny to think he may have been there.

My brother and I then wasted about an hour or so trying to get into line for more autographs and just wound up in this mosh pit karaoke deal while the guardians just picked random people to go into the line.

On day 3 we tried for about 30 minutes to get into line for autographs before we decided that the RT Podcast was much higher on our list of priorities and we got into line 4 hours early. Good thing too because we were quite close to the front and got some really good seats in the audience. When we got into the actually podcast room and sat down in the nice comfy seats Burnie came out and told us of his plan to prank Gavin. He said that he wanted us to cheer for everyone except Gavin as they came out on the stage and he let only one guy clap while they played cricket sound effects. It was super freaking funny, he was like a kid with an army at his disposal. He was so excited about his plan he came out about three times to rehearse with us. That crowd was so good with his plan, nobody screwed up and would have gone off without a hitch if Gavin hadn't caught on so quick. The Podcast was so much fun everyone was having a great time, it was worth the wait.

Overall it was 2 countries, 13 states, 30ish hours of driving and 6500km round trip. It was roughly $750 Canadian per person for the gas, hotels and food. In comparison, to fly it would have been over $1400 not including a car rental the hotel or the food or gas.

The only complaints I had were the way the lines were handled and the lack of things to do if you couldn't get into the panels or autograph sessions you wanted. There wasn't a special filming event this year like there was previous years but that's understandable with 30k people.

RTX was a lot of fun and well worth the trip.

So let me tell you all about my experience with RTX.

It started out when I asked my brother if he wanted to go and he said yes. Then as we discussed it, our parents thought going to Texas would be a fun trip and so we all sat down and thought, "How the heck are we going to get there?" I did some snooping and found out it would be so much more expensive to fly from Toronto to Dallas and then rent a car and go to Austin so my dad offered to drive a viola! the grand road trip began.

We got our tickets, and played the waiting game for almost 6 months. When we finally got in the truck and took off for Austin we stopped in Niagara Falls to stay with family for the night and then made our crossing into the states through New York and stopped for the night in Ohio. Our next night we stayed in Arkansas before making the final leg of our journey to Austin.

Austin by the way, happens to be gorgeous. The cleanest city I have ever seen in my life and everything in its place. Even the bridges are nice with their designs and patterns. Seriously, a super nice city. We stayed at the Days Inn about 5 minutes from the convention center and despite being right on the highway, once we got into the room we couldn't even hear it. It was a nice little room and reasonably priced.

On the first day of the convention my brother and I got a good spot in line about an hour and half or so before the hall opened. While waiting we got to see Blane, Barbara, Miles and Gus. Miles had family in line behind us so we got to see him a few times and I was able to snag a super quick picture with him just before he took off. I got to say hey to Barb and Gus in passing which was pretty cool especially since the convention hadn't even officially started =P

When the hall did open the line moved nice and quick but unfortunately my brother and I didn't make it to the first autograph session of the day so we took a quick tour through the store an then made our way back to the next signing with Geoff and Ryan. Meeting Geoff and Ryan was super cool, the were really nice and had a chat with me and everything for a few minutes while they signed my things. Ryan even joked with me a bit about how far we drove to get to RTX. We got a picture together and we managed to get some pictures of Gavin and Dan at the table next to them. While I was waiting for my brother to get his autographs I got to see Caiti and Jack.

After we got our autographs we went into the main hall and watched the Achievement Hunter GTA V Let's Play. From the place we were standing we got to see right into the VIP Lounge backstage of the the center stage where they had a couple of people dressed as Spartans and a few of the other AH guys. I even got to see Ray as he raced to throw on a red racing suit for the Lets Play.

Later in the day we made into the RvB panel and saw the latest episode which is such a blast when you are in a room of 4 thousand other Red Vs Blue fans. Just as the day was wrapping up someone pulled the fire alarm and everyone was being evacuated. Right in front of us on our way down the street was Gus and we asked if he was busy, he told us he had to take care of the evacuation and we said thanks and went on our way. As we were waiting to get picked up by our parents we saw Miles again and then Brandon. We asked Brandon what he was up to and he stopped and chatted with us for a good 10 minutes, just hanging out with us and we got some pictures together.

That night we headed to congress bridge and watched the bats come out at dusk instead of going to the fireworks since they had been moved due to construction.

I just hauled ass to my kitchen window because I heard the mailbox squeak. I kid you not, I stared out the window, mad-dogging this mailman to see if he had a box. HE HAD A BOX smiley11.gifsmiley0.gif Victory salute! So I grab my sandals, pj's and all and sprint down my driveway in the rain, grab the mail and skip like a total freak back into the house. I am now sitting in my room, giggling like a fangirl, watching the Best of Animated Adventures smiley0.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley0.gifsmiley12.gifsmiley13.gifsmiley9.gifsmiley0.gif

There is a completely demented Robin attacking EVERY.SINGLE.FUCKING.WINDOW OF MY HOUSE! And we have a bunch. First it only attacked the sliding doors on the deck, so we cordened off the entire deck with plastic. Score one for us. Until the little bastard came back and attacked the windows of my parents room. So I hauled off with my airsoft handgun and shot bb's near the damn thing to scare it away, chasing the stupid thing across the neighbours yard. He came back 10 minutes later. And then I just sat there and steamed. He went away. Only to return to the FRONT WINDOW. And he has now been out there for 20 minutes attacking his fucking reflection because the little asshole is so retarded that he is picking a fight with himself! He can't even be attacking the window just to protect his girlfriend NOOOO he is doing this on purpose!
So after cursing him out in hopes that he would hear me to no avail I started to look up recipes for wild Robin. You would be surprised with the lack of returns. Well, I am not admitting defeat but simply turning to my ally's, you, dear people. I am turning to you for suggestions as to how to get the stupid bird to piss off and do it without him breaking his neck on the damn windows. Please! Lend me aid in my time of need smiley11.gif

      Update smiley11.gifsmiley13.gifsmiley9.gif
The best line of defense against dumb birds is a water hose and someone with good aim ;) Dad nailed him with some water till he was unable to take off right away, nabbed him and drove him 5km down the road. SCOOOOORE!!!! I hope the dumb thing didn't have a girlfriend or else he might come back.

      Update to the update:
Since the bird has now returned, we will be encasing the entire house in a bubble. That is all -_-
